Aloha all my fellow DISsers! Has anyone ever had that moment when you enter a monorail resort and your jaw drops? Everything in the resort is so painstakingly gorgeous, and extremely detailed. I would always look at my husband like I wish I could afford to stay at the Grand Floridian, The Contemporary, or dare I even dream The Polynesian Village. It was always such a nice dream to have, especially early in the mornings while completing my chores in between daydreams and singing to birds and mices...... Wait a minute that was a movie, but as Cinderella inspired me to believe if I hold tight to my dreams and wish hard it will come true.

Now guess what .........we staying at The Polynesian Village! On the monorail baby, look mom I made it! This is seriously without a doubt an absolute a dream come true. I never once though it would be even remotely possible, I thought I would have to mortgage off both kids to make this dream a reality.
It all came about like most Disney vacation do, from post Disney blues from a previous vacation. We had an incredible 10 day vacation in January 2015, than a couple of months later I caught a break and realized than I can put together a cruise and disney trip in May. But atlas it wasn’t meant to be, family issues had me going to pick up a cousin in need and using my vacation time to settle her in my home.

Fast forward to me doing a good deed but I was in full Disney withdrawal by the beginning of the summer. Realizing I don’t have anymore vacation time allotted for this year, since we have decided on joining in on a big family cruise in november(not even disney, just NCL). I decided to make 2016 a year of Disney. It starts off with my first DisneyRun race ever, the enchanted 10k.
I was on a DVC rental board and started looking at some prices and some resorts. I asked one of the members who had their points for rent what was available for our dates, she messages me right away like the only thing available was Animal Kingdom Lodge. I love AKL don’t get me wrong it is so gorgeous and mambo house lobby is a dream, but we have stayed there 3 times been there done that! Than a miracle happened she called me and said "if you change your dates around a little I believe Poly is available”. I believe my direct respond was “shut up, no way”, I was crazy happy. I didn’t think twice, didn’t need to call and ask my husband, I told her "yes please however you can get us into the Poly we are there".
I didn’t mean to be there presidents week, I really didn’t do it on purpose but the stars just aligned that way. We got a great deal on The Polynesian Village by the way, 70% off rack rate. I had a pep talk with the hubster…..it went something like this
We can do this Jesse…. early rope drop, fast pass plus, dining reservation when it gets too crowded we go back to the resort and relax”.
“okay lets do it”
“yea but think about it we have been 6 times in 3 years, we are pros, even thought we have always gone off season. jesse this is what touring plans has been preparing me for all my disney life…”
“okay Ally, we can go”
“the kids they already have one day off of school, its only four more days to take them….. wait what, your completely okay with this”
My husband is not into Disney at all he can go, or he can not go it doesn’t matter to him either way; but what came out of his mouth next made me realize that this is truly my soul mate “Ally it is the Polynesian, you know I have always wanted to stay at a monorail resort” than he added “ I wanna try and stay at all the resorts eventually” mind blown….

Well to make a long intro short, We are staying at the Polynesian February 14th-20th!!! Celebrating Valentines and Presidents day all in the same week YAY baby!!! whoo hoo!!! Im actually Writing this when I should be Picking our parks ADRs open tomorrow!

After booking and playing for our stay at The Polynesian Village. I started looking into airline tickets, this is the first oh uh moment that I experience while planning this trip. The prices for plan tickets were as much as we are playing for our stay. After letting my husband know about the pricing he came up with a solution. We can drive!

We use to drive to Orlando all the time, but most recently we always fly when we are staying in Disney. We are so spoiled we don’t even rent a car anymore. I quickly calculated the gas my car would use and its a whopping $145 ROUNDTRIP! I rather not drive actually because all that extra time would be better spent at Disney World. We are attempting to do something that we have never done in our 6 times driving down to Florida, we are drink straight through. It supposed to take us 16hrs and we can really cut that down to 13 hours if we don’t get caught up with traffic.

I have thought about breaking the traveling because one of my biggest fear is to arrive at Disney World tired and waste a whole day trying to play catch up with our bodies. Until I decided to call my DVC friend and ask if we drove straight through on friday night was there any availability on Saturday. She told me the only availability for Saturday was at the Contemporary Resort Bay Lake Towers!

Can you believe our luck not one monorail resort but two. Also the timing of everything is so perfect and hopefully everything falls into place. I plan on packing a cooler so I don’t need to stop at a grocery store once we get there. On the way home I probably will stop by Wal-Mart just to get some Florida souvenirs for our folks. I am so excited adding Disney Days are so much fun!
