DREAMS COME TRUE! Sandy and James TR 6/18/08: 8/28 finally an update!

Gosh, I hate that for you! :headache: I know that can be extremely stressful! I too have a sister exactly like that.....a sponge...but I've made it pretty clear on what we are paying for and what we are not. I hope we don't run into the same problem! :goodvibes
Good thing to make it very clear! It wouldnt of mattered though I'm sure she would've expected my father to pay if I didnt!
I just found your report. I love all the pictures (especially your Magic Kingdom photo shoot ones)! Thanks for sharing your story! I can't wait for more!:thumbsup2
Thank you for reading along!:goodvibes

Looks like you had a great time in AK! I love character breakfasts and look so forward to when I have children to bring to them!! Loved this installment!

The character meal at Tusker House was really good- one of the best breakfast ones- fun and entertaining for the kids--and the adults(big kids)

I can't believe you got stuck with the bill :scared1: I have a feeling my family might think that we are going to pay for everything for them too

Seems like you had a lovely time, you & your boys look like you have lots of fun & smiles together :goodvibes Your MK pix are gorgeous  Can't wait for more updates :surfweb:

It was fab seeing photos of Donalds Breakfast, I was considering booking this for us and I think you've just made my mind up ;)

:scared1: I know! I dont even think they thought we were paying- its more she is so used to my father paying her way that it didnt matter as long as she wasnt paying!

Thank you we really had a great time! Tusker House was fun, we are doing it again on our next trip- if you like buffet breakfasts do it!

DAY 5: BLIZZARD BEACH

We had promised the boys we would go to a water park this trip, I think DH and i could have went either way. Since alot of our trips recently have been in January we have skipped it- we let the boys pick which park to go to and they picked BB.

We got up early-yet again- To get to the park at opening, DH had a tux fitting with CA later in the afternoon so up at 7:30 and we hit the road running---

AFter parking and walking towards the entrance we see- Summit Plummet- I had already decided this was not for me, i think I'm still digging reminants of my bathingsuit out from the last time I went on something like that!
100_3388.jpg

We used our AP discount on the tickets which worked out good
100_3389.jpg

We paid for a locker- then realized we probably didnt need it- but oh well we stuck our $ and "valuables" in it. we had plans to meet my friend from NY and her family for the day--

We all decided to set up camp at the kids area we have the 2yo and she has a 9month old- we then decided to go on the family raft ride- we decided to take the chair lift to the top-we wait on line and then I see a sign that says you have to put young children in the seat-well I had planned on holding Evan, in a death grip on my lap- much better control that way- I think I started to sweat, 2yo do not sit still very well and i envisioned him slipping under the bar and UGH:scared1: So I promptly got off the line, DH and the 2 older boys had a nice leasurely ride to the top and I mostly carrying Evan hoof it up the hill to the top, thank God he decided to walk the stairs near the top, I was so tired when I got to the top!

We enjoyed the ride- Evan hated it and screamed the whole time! I decided to take him to play in the kiddy area, lessen the trauma--DH took the big boys to ride some of the rides/slides that Evan couldnt go on-

No pictures of DH and I -only cute kids in the pool! The theming is cute in this area- my only issue is unless your on the slides with them you have to do a lot of running to keep up with them!

My friends little girl-
100_3394.jpg

After playing a while DH came back and got us and we decided to play in the pre-teen area which is a nice transition area for kids not ready for the big slides, then on to float on the lazy river for a while- I really liked that they had the tubes with bottoms so Evan could sit and float- much easier than trying to hold him all the way- we enjoyed a trip around and decided to pick up my friend and head to the wave pool--

We ate a hidiously expensive lunch-and back to the kiddy pool when they skys quickly grayed, the thunder and lightening started we decided we would pack it up since we had to be back for a Tuxedo fitting at 4:00 any way-- it was actually kind of funny everyone was running when it started to rain--I wanted to say, Hey, we are at a water park why isnt this what you came for-to get wet!

We headed back to the room, where DH had a tux fitting and I planned on meeting my friend at the BC pool for a little bit- well we get down there and it starts to thunder again so no go- we wandered around a bit and headed into the Yacht CLub-which seemed much quieter than the BC with hardly anyone in the gift shop-

100_3416.jpg

Finally we got to go to the pool-

Evan loving the sand in the pool-

100_3420.jpg

We didnt play long and more thunder and lightening and out we go!
We decided to head back to the room where we get in the elevator with the lady from CA- I thought she would've been done already- oh well-

I tried not to look when DH tried on the Tux, I wanted to be surprised. It went well everything fit-she had forgotten cufflinks and said she would leave them at the front desk, she called a bit later and said she did not have them in her car but would drop them off in the morning- no problem- since we had 2 days until the wedding---

We got cleaned up and ready to meet my dad, sister and family and my brother who was driving in today at Boma at AKL- I was excited to go over to the AKL since we have never been there and I love exploring new resorts!

Wow, y'all got so much touring done in the days leading up to the wedding! Your 2 year old looks so happy in his water park and SAB pictures :goodvibes

Its so nice that your faraway friend could come for your wedding :wizard:

We had a great time leading up till the wedding! We got there 6 days before it was a really nice distraction from the anxious waiting that happens before the big day!

He absolutely loved the pools esp SAB with the sand!

i was thrilled to be able to see Brenda and she loves Disney too- it was our first trip there together and i think we will try and do it again!

We headed to AKL-

We went out on a little observation deck off the lobby, didnt see any animals at this point-

100_3439.jpg

We got there a little early to we could walk around a few minutes before my family got there-they called to say they were on the way--but heard from my brother who got a late start leaving NC that morning and would not be here in time for dinner

We checked in - the check in desk is in the lobby and not near the restaurant-
100_3444.jpg

They got there right before our thing buzzed to be seated-

Food- the food is a big buffet, some weird, some yummy- definately worth the experience-
couscous and watermelon rind salad-

100_3455.jpg

After i paid for everyones dinner AGAIN!  we went to go outside to explore a little more. My brother called shortly after we got out and he was in Orlando so he came and met us just in time to miss my oldest of the 2 nephews climbing the rock next to these birds-the 4+ high rock structure-
DSCN0075.jpg

now i about flipped thinking he was going to fall off and no one was doing anything about it- I yelled at my sister to get her son before he fell- not to mention all the people looking at him in disgust-including me!!!!

Anyway we enjoyed seeing all the animals who were out after just being fed-

We really liked the atmosphere here, I think the kids would like to look out and see the animals!

We all decided to call it a night and head seperately back to our hotels:cool1:

NEXT: Rehearsal, O'hana Welcome Dinner

Great installment, can't wait to read more! It is unbelievable that everyone thought you should just pay for them. GRRR!

Love the pics of AKL. What did you think of Boma?? enought for the kids to eat? What kinds of "regular" food did they have? Dh and my kids would totally not be into Coucous and watermelon rind salad! :lmao: I'd love to try Boma, but i don't think my family would go for it!

I know! I didnt figure them into my budget!;)

AKL is beautiful! Too bad it doesnt have better transportation options-that is my only issue with staying there-
Boma- atmosphere is awesome, really cool...food I, nor most of the adults really cared for the African stuff-I tried it though-
There was Prime rib, chicken, salmon, salads(reg and African),fruits, soups

for the kids-chicken nuggets, wings, fries, mac and cheese, pasta meatballs and sauce- kind of the usual kids stuff at buffets

i am glad we did it but probably wont do it again-we just dont have adventurous eaters.

day 6: June 17, 2008 Rehearsal Day!

Today is rehearsal day! Evan had a bad night- so far the only one and was up several times and got up at 6am, not being ready just yet to get up I got him to lay with us--

100_3476.jpg

i got up and started to get ready our rehearsal was 8:30, we were meeting our guide at the IG at 8:15. We got ready and headed out, it is a pleasant walk to Epcot. We easily spotted our guide and headed to Italy where Marion and Rev. Jack where waiting for us. We mostly just talked through everything since it was just us and the boys. Really no practice. But it was nice to meet Rev. Jack, who is very sweet before the ceremony- I also brought to Marions attention a couple of changes that were never made to our BEO--we only picked up our final one after little changes(itinerary changes) on friday when we dropped off our things at Francks--they did not get it to us before we left, much to my dismay. The rehearsal probably only lasted 10-15minutes and we walked back.

Crossing the bridge from France to the IG we noticed alot of people waiting to get into the park. We felt pretty cool being in the park, everyone was looking at us-wondering why we were in and already leaving the park---just keep 'em guessing!

We had not eaten and decided to walk to the BW Bakery and get some breakfast--an added perk it was Jessica's wedding Day and we got some front row seats to see her heading to SBP! Beautiful I might add!

100_3478.jpg

100_3479.jpg

After eating we walked past SBP, pausing to see the wedding and then back to the BC to make some calls and see what everyone was up to today--

our timer we got 350+ days before the wedding now read-
(sorry it is blurry)

100_3481.jpg

ONLY HOURS LEFT!!!

My dad and brother came to meet us and just hang at SAB for the day. Everyone else went to AK--

DH ended up hanging in the room for a while because Evan was really grumpy and I told him his son needed a nap---I think he took the clue and said he would stay with him:rotfl:

Couple of BC pictures I took on the way down to the pool-
DS on balcony
100_3483.jpg

pretty courtyard-
100_3484.jpg

Unfortunately I left the camera in the room and was not going to chance waking Evan up- so pictureless afternoon-

We relaxed by the pool, floated in the lazy river and pretty much did nothing!! It is a great pool to just hang out at. We ate burgers out of buckets from Hurricane Hannahs- DH finally joined us a few hours later with Evan--right before it was time to get ready for the rehearsal. We went in about 3:30 to get showered and changed.

Before we left for the rehearsal I checked into my room, which a friend was sharing with me . Of course it was not that easy- they had lost/cancelled my reservation, I dont think I ever figured out what happened. All I knew is it was paid for and I needed a room to be able to hang my dress and get ready for my wedding-- It did get straightened out but what I didnt realize was they gave me a room with a King bed! So the night before my wedding I shared a bed with my good Friend Joann!:)

 There's a lazy river at BW??? At SAB? No way!! That's it, definately changing my reservation for the VR....again. :rotfl:

Too funny!! most brides will do anything for the king bed, and you get one that you can't "enjoy"! :rotfl:

Yes! The SAB at BC is awesome! The lazy River is not really big, it is deep in spots though (8ft) but if you just lay(tubes for rent), I did see some people with noodles, close your eyes and float who cares-- it is very relaxing! Not to mention so many little nooks and crannies to hang out , the slides and sand for the kids!

Yes, king bed-- and a friend who already didnt know there was going to be a wake up call at 4:30am!:lmao:

That is so neat that you got to catch a glimpse of me and the wedding. Too exciting. Did you happen to snap any pics from a distance? I know probably too weird to take pictures of someone you don't know, but I would have love to see my ceremony from your point of view. Oh, and I can't wait... your wedding day is getting so close!

:goodvibes tooo cute!

I know too funny!! She was ok with it thank god!

We had fun watching you come from the BW to SBP! i did not take any I thought people would think i was a stalker! It was beautiful from my point of view, I was very excited for you! Rehearsal dinner next than WEDDING DAY! Hopefully i will have some Randy shots by then! Linda is sending our CD to us--she asked if we wanted to wait until they got back----NO!:scared1:
