I keep obsessively checking my rental.... pretty much think im as cheap as I can go. It is only a few dollars more for our minivan unlimited miles for a week than two one way limited miles rentals. Group consensuses is parking at the port....

My youngest is missing his preschool class trip to a farm because we'll be on the cruise, but he told his teacher he didn't care because he was staying at the zebra and giraffe hotel!

Now that's great

My documents showed up today in a cloud of confetti and kid stuff! Two weeks and a few hours until our vacation officially starts!

I booked through AAA. It's a 24 hour rental Fri - Sat full size with Hertz. Went from $50.82 with taxes and fees to $37.59.

Say......did anyone check under old DON's name, the number 42 has been changed [May 4th] to 43 years.........boy time flys when your are having FUN.

I starting putting together my FE gifts today. The kids ones are so much easier to fill and buy for. I may need to get a little more creative with the adult ones.

hubby wants to know if A1 steak sauce is available on cruise rest. this is important to him !!!!! one more thing,, what do you all use for motion sickness?? we usaully try dramimine. but we are considering patch behind ear, sea sick bracelet, or prescription pills. hubby usually sick first night.

I don't recall seeing A1. Maybe someone else knows for sure.

For motion sickness, I use Bonine (Meclazine) which is over the counter along with Ginger capsules (2 in the morning and 2 in the evening).
I get motion sick if I sit in the back seat of a car. On our first cruise, during Hurricane Wilma, I lost a whole day to having to stay in bed due to being seasick. That cruise and the next I used just Bonine and was just OK.
Last cruise I used both Bonine and the Ginger and felt great the whole time, even in slightly rough seas. If you have medical conditions or are taking prescriptions you should check with your Dr before taking ginger because it can interact with some stuff.

Our osco pharmacy carries the 25mg tablets of meclazine in the 100ct bottle for $4.80 already got ours just in case......

You should have seen the look on my DH's face when he came across the suitcase I already packed full of the FE's In my defense, it's carry-on sized! Now he thinks it's funny, and loves to tell people about my suitcase full of presents

We are staying at AKL Thursday-sunday too... We are taking the shuttle to the boat, are you all? I asked my TA to put us on the earliest shuttle, she said she noted it, but I don't see a time for us to leave hotel... Just wondering if you all were in this same boat or if you all have your own transportation to the boat!?!?!

I have TWO carryon suitcases just for FE's. And I HAVE to carry them on!! Even with all of the stuff I plan to buy, I just know we will be coming home with an empty suitcase!!!

We're taking a car service, because unfortunately there is only one bus from AKL to the port and it doesn't leave until about 12 noon. We stayed at AKL our first cruise (last September) and took the DCL bus; it picked us up at AKL at 12, then went to Beach Club, then Boardwalk and it didn't get us to the port until 2:30. Since we were the first on the bus we sat on it for a looooong time!

How many of you are there? I can recommend a good private car service that is actually the same price as DCL if you have 4 people, and it's CHEAPER if you have more than 4!!

That's awesome I got lucky in that two of the things I made pack flat, so they took up way less room than I was expecting!

We have hired a taxi (********) to take us and as we have the same taxi fro the airport when we arrive we managed to work a 3 way deal, I have asked them to collect us from Univarsal hotel early am so as we get to the port early. We are in the 10.30 slot for booking in so that's good as we would rather board on the earliest possible!

We ended up going with a car service, which allowed us to head to the boat when we wanted to, they'll let us stop at a grocery store on the way back for supplies (we're staying at Bay Lake Tower for a few days after), and it was waaaaaay cheaper to get a 15-passenger van than it was to pay for 11 people to do Magical Express.

we only have the four of us.. My mom and my sister are flying in on sunday morning, but that won't help us out. they have disney transfers from the airport to the boat...
My DH will not be happy that he has to wait that long on the bus, he would probably rather take a car service.. I guess it is a switch off, if we take the bus- takes longer to get there BUT our luggage is taken for us and we don't have to worry about lugging all of the stuff.. If we do the car service, then I guess we will have a shorter ride, but have to lug all of our stuff around- even if our room is not ready
