If you were told that you could pick any job - not behind a desk - at WDW what would it be?

When I was young I thought I would love driving the monorail, then I wanted to be in the parades as a dancer... now I think I would like to be a captain of one of the boats going to and from the Fort/MK! - do women do that? I have only seen men?

Yes, I've seen women boat drivers.

Monorail pilot would be my #1 choice. Next would be Bus driver with different routes daily or security CM at the Fort. By the way DW swears that if we retire and become snow birds staying at the Fort over the winter that she would scrub the toilets. :worship: NOT ME!

Imagneer I would love to create new rides.

well since Bob already has dibbs on owner, I'd like to be a Fishing Guide on Bay Lake,

but at this point I settle for one of those CM jobs where the guy walks around in the parks with a miniature broom and a long handled dustpan sweeping up behind all the people that are pigs.

My dream job is close, Frank. I always wanted to be the guy who followed the horses on Main Street during the parades. You get to be in the parades, everybody appreciates the job you do, and nobody bothers you. I must have over a dozen pictures somewhere of these guys over the years.

Crappy job though! :rotfl2:

I use to work at a 5 star Resort, and there are plenty of days that I still wish I did! (I am a teacher now.) I always envied the pool bartenders. You get to be outside, in the shade, making drinks, watching people by the pool. This is great no matter which way you look at it. They were always so relaxed, and never stressed out. How many times have you seen a huge, long line at the pool bar? Not to mention the money is good!

I also wouldn't mind working as a concierge, or does that count as a desk job?

Otherwise, how about the lady that does hair wrapping? Again, hanging out by the pool, in the shade!

:)

Except for the Fort, TTC, and the employee shuttles, drivers do not repeat a route during a shift except if absolutely needed. So you're all set.

Hey Magicbus-

Unless you are sworn to secrecy, can you elaborate on this a bit?

It's something that I have wondered about.

Do the buses assigned as Yellow, Orange and Purple not leave the Fort all day? How long do these drivers work per day? I have seen them switch out drivers at the Settlement as well as the Outpost, but I have never noticed a pattern. Are the Fort drivers different from the regular drivers? Do you ever get to drive in the Fort?

I know that the Orange bus used to go from the Fort to Wilderness Lodge and back from the Settlement. But, recently, I saw a Yellow bus do the same. How is this determined?

As for the buses that leave the Fort, I thought it used to be that the bus that went to Epcot, for example, would go to Epcot, drop guests at the FW bus stop there, and then return to the Fort/WL. But, now-a-days, it seems like we get dropped at a random bus stop, and then the driver is assigned to pick up guests at another resort's bus stop, and take them to their resort.

How does this work? Do you know where you will be going for each run, or is this assigned on the fly? It seems amazingly complicated to me. But, it actually works pretty well.

Just wondered if you could shed some light on the whole thing.

I'd like Josephine & Paulette's job. Meet, greet and seat at Trail's End!:thumbsup2

I get nervous when sneaky guys like TCD start asking specific questions about transportation routes.

Do they hire 40 something year old women with a slightly off the wall sense of humor as princesses??? ;)
