"Dream"ing of Spring Break - 3/13/2014

I am very excited to say that we will be joining you all. We are first time cruisers from Ontario, Canada. Two girls who will be 14 and 12 plus me and DH. We will want to do FE. It looks so fun.

Welcome to the group! My daughter will be 13 so right between your girls. :goodvibes

Please remove us from the FE exchange. We're not booked on this cruise anymore. Thanks!

A new friend. Maybe we should make it a point to meet up. It's the girls first cruise and it will be nice for them to have someone to hang out with.

Have you done any of the excursions on your previous cruises? The girls want to do a dolphin meet but I'm not sure if its really worth it for what they charge. We've never been to Nassau. I don't know. Maybe we'd be just as happy exploring.

Sounds great. Would love to meet up.

We haven't done Nassau excursions. We just wondered around. I've thought about the dolphin meet before, but never took the plunge for the price either. This time my oldest daughter and grandson will be with us and he's only 2 so probably will skip excursions unless we find something for him.

Can't wait to see the Dream! Woohoo! Been looking at pictures this morning.

I do that all the time too. I'm working on cruise ship magnets for the door to make the time pass quicker...lol

Maybe I should try designing a logo for our cruise? We already have a slogan "Dreaming of Spring Break". Then we can use the logo on magnets or FE or whatever we want.

That would be awesome. I have no creative bones nor can I do digital graphics so I saw go for it! :thumbsup2

You can add me to the list! I just booked. It will just be me and DD (11 by then). It is a first cruise for both of us, and I am just giddy about finally pressing the "Reserve" button. I am hoping that a short cruise is just the thing to get our feet wet (and probably spark a lifetime of cruise addictions).

Please add me to the FE list, too. I finally have a use for the Disney crafts I have pinned on Pinterest!

I've added you both to the list. :-)

JustCallMeMommy, I also travel alone with my daughter. She will be 13.

First Disney cruise. I promised my daughter a Disney cruise when she was 3 but had to drag her across the country for my brothers wedding. Well its been 10 years but I'm finally making it up to her. It will be me (Dad) and my daughter she'll be 14 at the time. Anyone else single parents on this thread?

I'm a single mom...Will be traveling with my daughter as well...she'll be 13.

I've never done Disney cruise before... Been on Carnival, Princess, NCL and Royal Caribbean.. What does Disney do differently and/or better? And is it a cool place for a single dad to have fun?

I've not done anything but Disney so I can't really compare.

I will tell you that my daughter loves the kids clubs so for me this is what makes me want to keep going....that she loves making friends and hanging out with them for the duration of the cruise. And the last one, I made her contact cards before the cruise with her facebook info so that she was able to become "friends" with the ones she really liked once we were home. We usually have breakfast together, dinner, and watch the show....other than that she's in the club or on deck with friends.

For you? It depends I guess on what you like to do...

There's adult only clubs etc with dance parties, comedians, etc. in the evenings.

There are wine, beer, tequila, rum tastings (for a fee)...I've done tequila and loved it.

There are family activities throughout the day if your child will actually spend time with you...:rotfl2:

I think I've read there's a singles lunch each day, but I've not tried this. I bet it's great, but I just never think about it onboard.

There are movies onboard playing almost continuously in the theaters. Many are newish releases. I called last year to find out what would be showing and then made sure not to watch them in the theaters beforehand.

Each evening is a broadway quality show. This is one of the mandated times that my daughter must spend with me (which she is happy to do...she loves the shows)

Personally, I'm quite happy to be able to do NOTHING for several hours each day...I like to curl up with a book on deck with my headphones in and just know that I have NO responsibilities.

There's a spa, a fitness center, Palo (adult only dining - I haven't tried)

How is everyone's summer going? Mine is going way too fast. :rotfl:

Took my daughter to meet Si Robertson (from Duck Dynasty) yesterday. She was soooo excited.

Was looking over our list so far and we have a lot of teen/tween girls - an 11, a 12, a 13, and 2 14 year old girls. We should get them all together the first evening!! :goodvibes

Also 3 parents traveling solo with their kiddos - Chefnosaj, JustCallMeMommy, and myself - ksloane!

I can't believe school is about to start (a week and a half here)!

Sounds great. I was telling the girls there will be lots of girls their age to hang out with so they were happy about that.

My family of 8 is traveling on the March 13, 2014 3night cruise. We are also traveling with another family of 8. We are new to cruising with Disney. Heard about this fish extender thing. I am interested in joining. Does anyone have any information? Thanks so much! 12 very excited kids!
