"Dream"ing of Spring Break - 3/13/2014

We are maintaining a list so far of who wants to participate. I'll add you over the weekend.

As we are heading into dreary and cooler winter weather, I am looking forward to this cruise more and more.

Thanks for setting this up ksloane. Does anyone know if the water at Castaway Cay will be warm in March? DH doesn't like to swim unless the water is warm and I'm thinking it probably will be but I don't want to hype him all up about warm water and then he gets there and it's like Lake Ontario ...lol

According to http://bahamas-guide.info/weather/march/, the average temperature is in the upper 70's. I imagine I will only be in briefly, but my daughter will be fine and in it the entire time.

Please add me and my family to the Cruise on March 13. Will be our 2nd Disney Cruise, we are squeezing it in between some days at WDW (the kids know baout the cruise, but do not know we will be at WDW a few days before cruise and going back a couple days afterwards!)
I am a Disney Parks Mom Panel 2014 hopeful (have made it into Round 2!) and am super excited about that too!

We would like to participate in the Fish Extender exhcnage if there is one started on this thread.

Welcome! Good luck on your Disney Parks Mom. I'm jealous. I never make it after the initial form.

Include us as well!! 4 of us, me, DW, DD(20), DS(16). #6 for DW and I, #3-4 for the kids.

Hi All!

Please add us to the group. I'll be sailing with my 11 year old twin girls and we would love to meet with the other single parents and teen/tweens on the first day. Count us in the fish extender too. (I will fill out the e-form)

My girls are so excited to have a little more freedom this time. Their first Disney cruise was 5 years ago so this will be quite a different experience for all of us.
Looking forward to meeting all of you.

I would love to know what everyone's favourite character is (especially the kids)

DH likes Goofy. I like Minnie but also Princesses. Sarah likes Mulan and Courtney like Ariel best.

I'm a single mom. My daughter will be 13. Maybe we can get together some. My daughter loves to roam the ship and be "grown up" so I have lots of down time.

That's hard because I like so many. Daughter's favorite was Tinkerbell growing up. Not so sure she'd say that now. I'd have to ask her.

I guess if I had to pick, I love Belle out of all the princesses.

ksloane, sounds great!

lizabu, no favorites, but one of my girls has long blonde hair so maybe Cinderella and the other has long dark hair so maybe Belle?

Hi! Another group joining! This will be the 6th DCL cruise for a few of us (yay for gold!), and the 5th for the others. This will personally be my third Dream cruise, so if anyone has any questions feel free to ask. I've always done the FE exchange and have helped organize it in the past, so again, if any help is needed I'm happy to help :goodvibes

It will be six of us. Me and my 9 year old daughter, and my boyfriend and his three sons who will be 20, 17 and 12 at the time of the sailing. We look forward to meeting everyone!:yay:

Are there any worthwhile excursion options for Nassau that you know of? Not sure we will leave the boat that day. Good day to play on the Aquaduck!
:sail:

I've always gone to Nassau on all of my cruises, and IMO the only thing worth experiencing is the Pirate Museum. It was very neat and I'd highly recommend it. It also isn't too expensive and is a short walk from the ship. Here's the website:

I've never done Disney cruise before... Been on Carnival, Princess, NCL and Royal Caribbean.. What does Disney do differently and/or better? And is it a cool place for a single dad to have fun?

On four of my past five DCL cruises I've gone as a single parent. I went with my daughter's godfather who is single too. We found that there isn't much of a single's scene. The singles mixer that they offer wound up only having us show up, but the good news was that they felt bad and gave us free drinks! :rotfl:

We also would go and do things like watch people do karaoke, play bingo and befriended many bartenders :thumbsup2 If it will just be you and your dd, chances are you'll be paired up with others at dinner. I've found it great to connect your dining with others on the board. That way you sort of "know" who you're dining with rather than eating with complete strangers :goodvibes

Setting up a group table for singles is a great idea.
