I've never done
Disney cruise before... Been on Carnival, Princess, NCL and
Royal Caribbean.. What does Disney do differently and/or better? And is it a cool place for a single dad to have fun?
I've not done anything but Disney so I can't really compare.
I will tell you that my daughter loves the kids clubs so for me this is what makes me want to keep going....that she loves making friends and hanging out with them for the duration of the cruise. And the last one, I made her contact cards before the cruise with her facebook info so that she was able to become "friends" with the ones she really liked once we were home. We usually have breakfast together, dinner, and watch the show....other than that she's in the club or on deck with friends.
For you? It depends I guess on what you like to do...
There's adult only clubs etc with dance parties, comedians, etc. in the evenings.
There are wine, beer, tequila, rum tastings (for a fee)...I've done tequila and loved it.
There are family activities throughout the day if your child will actually spend time with you...
I think I've read there's a singles lunch each day, but I've not tried this. I bet it's great, but I just never think about it onboard.
There are movies onboard playing almost continuously in the theaters. Many are newish releases. I called last year to find out what would be showing and then made sure not to watch them in the theaters beforehand.
Each evening is a broadway quality show. This is one of the mandated times that my daughter must spend with me (which she is happy to do...she loves the shows)
Personally, I'm quite happy to be able to do NOTHING for several hours each day...I like to curl up with a book on deck with my headphones in and just know that I have NO responsibilities.
There's a spa, a fitness center, Palo (adult only dining - I haven't tried)
