I know in the past they dock at another port and then bus you back to PC.

Disney Dream – Friday, August 30

Based on Hurricane Dorian’s current location and projected path, we have determined that it is safe for Disney Dream to set sail on Friday as originally scheduled. Once the ship departs Port Canaveral, it will keep a safe distance from the storm. Depending on its path, there is a possibility that we may need to modify the itinerary, including not being able to return to Port Canaveral on Monday. We will continue to monitor weather forecasts throughout the sailing and adjust as needed.

Ugh. I understand the potential for this but a 4 hour bus ride from Miami back to Port Canaveral after my cruise would not be any kind of fun.

Of course “modify the itinerary” could mean porting a day or two later in PC depending on what the storm ultimately does.

Hopefully those folks who booked return flights home the same day the cruise ended will catch a break because the airlines have cancelled their flights. Otherwise a 4 hr bus ride for them will not be fun. But it could be a Tampa port that they use. Especially since they are excepting a surge of storm water in Miami. Hopefully it not the Galveston port that Disney has!

Disney Cruise Line is altering Disney Dream next two sailings. The August 30, 2019 3-night Bahamian Cruise is being turned into a 5-night Western Caribbean Cruise to Cozumel which will impact the Dream’s previously schedule Monday departure. The Monday 4-night is being changed to a 2-night cruise leaving Port Canaveral on Wednesday.

On Friday, the Disney Dream will sail from Port Canaveral, keeping a safe distance from the storm. At this time, the plan is to visit Cozumel on Sunday September 1, 2019 and Castaway Cay on Tuesday September 3, 2019.

For guests who no long wish to sail on this voyage they are asked to call Disney Cruise Line at 866-325-3905 or 407-566-7032 by noon on Friday. Impacted Guests will have until October 31, 2019 to choose a new sail date.

The Disney Dream’s previously schedule Monday departure has been changed to a Wednesday, September 4, 2019 2-night Bahamian Cruise with a stop at Castaway Cay Thursday, September 5, 2019.
The new September 4th itinerary is as follows:
  1. Wednesday September 4, 2019 – Port Canaveral
  2. Thursday September 5, 2019 – Castaway Cay
Friday September 6, 2019 – Port Canaveral (Debarkation)
Guests that choose to continue with this sailing will receive a 50% refund of your voyage fare and a $250 onboard credit per stateroom. Guests that do not want to sail on Friday, must call us at 866-325-3905 or 407-566-7032 by noon on Sunday, September 1. Guests will then have until October 31, 2019 to choose a new sail date.

Good news for the folks leaving tomorrow with 2 free nights, bad news for the people who were going to leave Monday.

All in all, lots of people going to be scrambling to make arrangements.

The Dream can’t port into Tampa, she’s too tall to clear the bridge.

Guess it would be off to another port like Galvaston since Tampa port as well as all of the other Disney Florida ports were just put under the Whiskey alert not long ago.

Years ago our Wonder cruise was detoured to Port Everglades so bus back was faster than Miami. THANK GOODNESS but still a pain.

We were on one of the cruises that was diverted to Ft. Lauderdale. We were due to sail out of PC on the Magic on a Saturday but that cruise got changed to a Monday departure from Ft. Lauderdale and turned into a 5 day instead of a 7 day. Since we could not continue to PC as it was closed down we stayed a few nights at the Polynesian and Disney bused us down to Ft. Lauderdale to meet the ship. Both the Wonder and Magic were docked in Ft. Lauderdale at the same time and the terminal was crazy with DCL trying to set up and check people in. This was Hurricane Jeanne back in 2004
