Dream April 14,2011

Less than a week till Christmas, how is everyone doing? Pretty organized here, amazingly. We have a large open house on Christmas eve, but I seem to serve the same food year after year, so it is pretty organized. I have thought about changing the menu a few times but everyone says no. Usually we have about 40-60 people swing in and out throught the evening. As far as our cruise, I can start booking excursions in early January, still haven't completely decided what we are doing. I am thinking Blue Lagoon Sea Lions for the 4/10 cruise and Atlantis for this leg. I am going to go look now about something for Castaway Cay. We did not do an excursion there last time. Thinking of maybe just renting bikes or maybe a paddle boat.

Well, I just fiinished wrapping and have 1 main gift to buy...due to a major problem..if it were for an adult I would forget it, but, unfortunatley it is for a child:( Other than that, I am all set, Christmas eve for my husband's side of the family, Christmas morning, my daughter's to watch the children open gifts, afternoon it's my sister's turn to host Christmas gifts and dinner, and then on Sunday, my kids and family will come out and we will do it all over again. We decided to do it this way so the little ones wouldn't be too tired and cranky.... after that, well, getting my excursions written down and full spead ahead on the Disney planning...I realize that it will be here before I know it and I am ok with that, but...I will miss the fun of planning:) Ok, off to see what my 4 year old DGD is doing....she has taken 3 pairs of my shoes to play with and now I am wondering why 3....she is my Shoe Queen....Have a blessed Christmas to you scootch...I know this will be a hard Christmas for you...but, your mom is looking down and has many smiles for you and your family:)

Did everyone see this?

Beginning Dec. 16, 2010, on the Disney Wonder® and Dec. 18, 2010, on the Disney Magic®, families will have a great new way to stay in touch with one another while onboard the ship. Portable Wave Phones will enable Guests to contact other members of their party while separated onboard the ship or ashore at Disney’s Castaway Cay. With the exception of Castaway Cay, these phones will not function while off the ship. Two portable wave phones will be installed in each Guest stateroom. The Royal and 2-bedroom suite categories will have four wave phones. All Guests are encouraged to utilize the phones to stay connected with one another. However, Guests can opt out of using these phones and the service in their staterooms will be shut off. If Guests would like an additional phone for their family, they may rent one at Guest Services located on Deck 3, mid-ship for an additional cost of $3.50 per day for the duration of the voyage. These phones are replacing the paging system used by Youth Activities. Parents with children participating in the various activities will never be more than a text message or phone call away. If the phones are lost or damaged, or are not returned to the stateroom prior to debarkation, a $250 charge per phone will be applied to the Guest’s stateroom account. The charge will be mentioned on the payment authorization form that is printed with online documents and in the Guest Ticket Booklet.

Sounds like a great idea for me, especially as my 11 year old wont' stray even a few feet from me. She said, "gee I can go get pop without you". To that will be nice. I wonder how small they are and if they will fit in the lanyard pouch, only concern is losing it, especially if they all look alike.

No, scootch, I didn't see it.Where did you find it? Sounds like a great idea to me:) Merry Christmas by the way:)110 days til we leave for the airport:)

I initially saw it here on my post http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2618073

A few people used the this cruise, said at first they are hard to use. Hopefully by the time we get on the ship, all the kinks will be worked out. Yes, loving the just over 100 days out. Will help me get through the yucky winter weather. Merry Christmas to you. My kids are having a ball already and all the fun is just beginning. Can't wait to meet you.

Thanks scootch...I read the whole thread and very interesting. Your daughter sounds like me...When I was younger:) However, I still have trouble mingling and I don't like to be left alone in a room full of people that I don't know. I have to admit, that I detest "games to mix everyone up to help get to know each other" I also, don't like name tags...silly, I know, so maybe your daughter and I can get to know each other:) just teasing of course...I too, can't wait to meet you...I told my older granddaughter only 2 more sleeps and she just laughed...I had a countdown calendar made and wrapped it up for the kids to start the Disney countdown...It doesn't seem real to me...enjoy your Christmas:)

When Matti wouldn't go to the kids clubs last time, she and I had a ball together and truly, I didn't mind it at all. I just know last time she regretted not trying it, and some friends of hers did a disney cruise and told her all the fun stuff they did, so i would really like her to at least try it this time. It would be nice to have an hour where I could walk around and just see the adult areas too. She is going to be a great babysitter someday, she is so good with younger kids, that I think she would even have fun just playing with them. Her school had their first middle school dance last week. Now mind you, she goes to a catholic school with only 86 kids :rotfl: so it wasn't like a huge crowd, only 29 kids went (grades 5-8)... but she wouldnt' go. We did not coax her at all, I think the longer they stay little, the better, but even what should have been a comfortable situation, she didn't want to try something new. Once she is comfortable, she has a ball, but she does have some separation anxiety issues. So we will see how it plays out. For her sake, I hope she just tries it, if only for an hour, then she won't keep wondering "what if", and hopefully she can go to the 10 and under club, as I know she won't try the 11-13 one.

Off to pick up my buns and some potato salad. We have an open house(mostly dh's family) every Christmas eve. Your welcome to join us. Enjoy your grandkids and all the excitement in their hearts. Merry Christmas.

hmm...sounds like you and I do the same for each other's family. This year tho I am doing it at 2 and only having snacky stuff:) Easy for me and clean up should be a breeze as I use paper stuff to eat off, and this year I have a dishwasher--electric not hand tossed:)Let's see, how far is Penn Yan from you???

Hello everyone!
I was MIA due to all preps for X-mas, and now, its snowing (blizzard 2010, 14+") = perfect day to catch up.
MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!! :santa:
We had more than 40 people in our house on X-mas Eve, I made our traditional slideshow/movie (very long this year, about 40 min:scared1:, but everyone laughed a lot and enjoyed it). We had Santa :santa: visiting our house and delivering presents to kids of all ages, and children performed for Santa to get their gifts - dancing, singing, poem reading, charades, piano and guitar playing, funny games, and more! During one dance, Santa's "belly" started falling out, lol, one pillow, and then another....:rotfl: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
My favorite holiday of all!
Now, my DD and DS B-days in January, and DREAMing full force :woohoo:
Happy Holidays to all! :santa:

Nice to see you back Yelena.... We have a big Christmas eve here too, never did a video, that might be fun. Survived the holiday, now my brother and his wife are coming for a week. I hope I survive a week without my bed. We moved both girls double beds in one room, so are giving up our room for them and will downsizing from a queen to a double, all 4 of us in one room. No real New Years Eve plans, we usually go to dh's cousins, but they are not having it this year. OK for us, we prefer to just stay in and ring in the new year, that is if we can stay awake. :lmao:

Thank you, Amy, it's nice to be back  Planning DD B-day party (it's on Jan, 8, next week). It will be Harry Potter themed. New Year Eve at my sister-in-law's; we just need to bring a dish or two, so planning is easy.
I hope you stay awake and welcome New Year full of energy and excitement about our upcoming cruise :cutie:

Hello everyone. Wanted to let you know that I am very close to having the TShirt template finished. I am going to keep it under wraps because I don't want too many other cruising to get the thought.

We need to get moving on the Spreadsheet for the Fish Extender, Yankee Trader, Dinner, etc...

I need to make sure everyone is on the same page with the shirts...
I will be bulk purchasing the Iron On Sheets and the TShirts. I will then divide the total spent against the amount of Shirts being requested. I can ship, or give shirts at the boat. I would appreciate PayPal for the shirts either way.

I will have the template up by Saturday. Please keep the template under wraps so we don't have the "everybody look" on our shirts.

Thanks.
John

If anyone needs to discuss anything they can PM me and we can exchange numbers then.

Thanks, John, please keep us posted.

Are you still doing Atlantis on this leg of your cruise???? just wondering. :)

Marilyn, love your avatar of your grandbabies! Hope all is well with you. My brother and his wife were here for a week, so I am busy trying to get back to normal in my house. Getting so excited for our cruise!!!!

Now that we are in the 100- countdown I need to get everyone onto the spreadsheet. I also want to publicly show the tenative template for what I did complete for the shirts. I am open to any criticism, or ideas, but I put something together that is very nice to look at, and took a lot of time to do. Everyone email me at JMarsden92@comcast.Net, and I will get you access to the spreadsheet. Make sure to tell me what cruise it is for, as I am heading 2 cruises things... Thanks all.

All those little ones aren't mine, but, my sisters but we share them in all aspects. In fact, I have taken 2 of her grandbabies to Disney world...they loved it!!!!!! We are under 98 days until we set sail...I have mixed emotions...very nervous and excited at the same time....
