Dream April 14,2011

On the other hand, I read all about the FE and the exchange which sounds like so much fun. I'm in!!! My DH thinks all of us Disers have huge issues . Sigh, poor guy just doesn't get it :confused3.

:rotfl::lmao:
Your DH is not the only one thinking that, my DH will be his good friend, as he totally does not get this obsession :cutie:.

Happy Father's day, to all wonderful, hard working, loving fathers!!!!!:cheer2:
Thank you for sharing your children (and wife's) DREAMs!!!! :cloud9:

Hello from New Hampshire! I just pressed the "book now" button....we are on the 4/14/11 sailing of the Disney Dream! :boat:

DH, DD (9) and I will be heading down the day before we sail, and we hope to spend a day or two at the parks after the cruise. :goodvibes

The next few days I'll be :surfweb: searching for airfare, trip insurance, resort availability, etc. Then I'll have time to "play" on DIS Boards!

Hello and welcome from the beautiful Finger Lakes area of NY. I know how excited you must be as I am the same...we too will be visiting the World after the cruise. I love planning as it makes the trip more exciting:) Happy planning:)

Welcome! It is nice to see another family joining our group. Our DD is 9 too! Have fun planning!:surfweb::confused3:dance3:

Welcome. I have used this site for insurance http://www.travelinsured.com/ have researched and heard good things about people who have made claims AND kids are free. Very reasonable. Wish I could plan flights but have to wait for Southwest to open up their flights in December(at least that is the tentative date).

Glad to see you back Marilyn(Noahdove!):goodvibes missed ya!

Me and my group of 80 will be going on it. Can't wait!

YOUR GROUP OF 80?????? :o

I can't recall if I checked in for this leg of my back to back cruises yet or not. But I am on this one with my DH and two children 9 and 6 at the time of the cruise.

Hello! Book cruise...CHECK. Book air...CHECK. Purchase trip insurance...CHECK.

The rest is easy-peasy. We are flying in to MCO the evening before....will stay at the Hyatt. We want to spend 2 nights at Disney's All-Star Movies resort after the cruise...waiting on rates so I can book. We have stayed at ASMo in the past, and loved it!

I already bought some "cruise-wear" for DD! Got super deal on a bathing suit, and a super-duper deal on a dress for dinner!

I will pass on the FE. But would be interested in M & G.

You are GOOD! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2
Dress? already? You must be really excited!!!!:woohoo: I would not take chances with buying cloth so much in advance bs my daughter changes her cloth size very frequently based on her activity level and growth spurs. But it is a great time to purchase summer cloth bs everything goes on clearance sale around 4th of July.
Where are you staying a night before the cruise?

We booked Radisson at Port Can. with pre-cruise package.

We also booked a room in Comfort Suites for Atlantis waterpark. It is $250, but then they add taxes (14%, $60), energy surcharge (around $13 pp), and housekeeping surcharge ($5pp), plus 3rd person ($40). It comes out to almost $400 for 3 people.:scared1: Does anybody know if they still add all surcharges if you don't even go to your room?

You only pay 3rd person $40 if it's an adult :thumbsup2. I figured on about $350 and we're 3 too and yes, you get the surcharges even if you don't go to the room.

 Is it still cheaper than taking an excursion from the ship?:headache::goofy:

:thanks:

We need to name this cruise and update the thread title. Something catchy now folks...

I'm going to pass on suggestion because of the other cruise I named and then had to cancel on. Don't need a repeat of that.

I will be anxious to see what others come up with for a name..I have NO creative bone in my body...It is getting excited to see how many are joining this board....

If it ends up being $350,you might be better off doing it thru disney.... as you have $4 per person for taxi each way and the DCL does include lunch too. It is $160(unless it goes up) for adults and $110 for children 9 and under and includes the transportation to and from and also a lunch voucher. We are staying at a choice hotel for virginia beach this year, thus.... It appears I am going to have enough points for a free night. Can't get the free night till closer to the time, so I will book a room and then cancel if I can use the points. Keep watching the site though, maybe it will come down. I think i already posted, ours was $176 last time, with the extras just a bit over $200.

We flew in at 8pm last cruise(and the kids had gone to school most of the day) so the Hyatt was very, very nice. My youngest loved the room, she felt like a princess in it and it was so nice to get off the plane, grab the bags and we were asleep by 930! Going to wait and see what time our flight comes in this time before I decide on staying at the Hyatt again or heading over to the port. Thinking of doing the port for something different, but if it is 8pm again, will definitely do the Hyatt.

Our DS will be 12 and in the eyes of Disney--he's an adult ;) so we'd have to pay $160 for him too. Booking it at CS even with that rate and including taxi, lunch, we'll still come out a little ahead. That's why I'm so hesitant to book yet--don't know if it's really worth it.

As for catchy slogans...hmmm...have to think on that one. Brain's tired from too much work. I'll ask DS to try too.

Hello everyone! Just wanted to introduce myself being we'll be cruising on the Dream with you all. We're also doing a B2B...4/10 first!:cool1: This will be our 4th and 5th DCL adventure and we cannot wait! My family: me (44), DH (45), and DD (13). We are from NC and we will be cruising with our friends from the UK. We met them on our very first DCL cruise on the Wonder back in 2007. We were tablemates. It's funny because we were a little nervous about dining for 4 nights with people we did not know. Well the first night when we went to dinner we hit it off so well. It was like we'd already known each other really. We had a such a great time together and before that cruise was over we decided to rebook onboard and cruise together the next year which was 2008 (Western on the Magic) and rebooked onboard for 2009 (Eastern on the Magic)! We rebooked onboard in 2009 but not for 2010. We wanted to wait for the Dream and so here we are....doing a B2B on the Disney Dream, 4/10 and 4/14! Being we're not cruising this year, our family and their family (3 of us, 3 of them) are meeting up in Florida for a week, (Thanksgiving). We've never been to US/IOA although they have (we always did WDW) so we're going there this year for a few days and the rest of the time we'll relax by the pool, do a little shopping, and just visit with one another! We're very excited because even though we've been e-mailing, we've not seen each other since the beginning of Nov. 2009. Anyway, just wanted to give you a little background info about our group and remember..."A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes"! :goodvibes

Welcome and thank you for sharing your story! :thumbsup2:
We also become good friends with a few families on our previous cruise and we keep in touch via email/facebook (one family is also booked for this cruise, but it's a X-mas surprise for the kids, so our friend will be checking in with us "a little" later :surfweb:). It is amazing how quickly life-long bonds could be made! Let's see how many great friendships are formed on this one!:grouphug: :cloud9:
