i've never been to DD before...my son and I will only be in the world for 4 days so we are jamming a lot in and in all likelihood won't have time for it - but if we have time, is it worth it? Are there any links to describe it??

Thanks so much!

If you have time to go to DTD I would give it a try. Your son might like Disney Quest. I love it there. If there is a certain day you have set aside for Animal Kingdom you could do it afterwards seeing as how I believe that park usually closes at 5:00 or 6:00. I'm can't answer your question about the links. Hopefully this helped out a little bit!

Don't know how old your son is but mine is a lego-maniac. Looking forward to letting him take a break and build to his heart's content and let him see how many legos it takes to make a dinosaur!

If you are short on time, I wouldn't worry about Downtown Disney. It's cool, but I wouldn't want to loose the time in the parks to experience it on my first Disney trip.

We went on a Saturday night and hated it. Too many people. Lots of twenty-somethings going to a concert dressed as Goth. Loud Music, general Party atmosphere.

We went back on a Thursday night and Loved it. It was very quiet and a nice relaxing shopping trip. The Lego store is a must for any lego lover.

With only four days, I wouldn't worry about it. My boys (9 and 10) did really enjoy Disney Quest, and the Lego place is cute. Otherwise, it's really all shopping. We had 10 days, and so went there a couple of times, but it certainly wouldn't be a priority for us unless your son would want to go to Disney Quest. My boys rank DQ right up there with the parks.

Edited to add: Downtown Disney Try this.

I always try to hit DTD on the first night that I'm there when I don't plan on going to the park that day. I like DTD, but sometimes the crowds are annoying (especially on the weekends it seems.) If you're looking for something very specific like Disney kitchen gear or if you want to spend some time doing something "Disney" but don't want to go to a park, its great. But fi you're short on time, I'd spend it in the parks! ::yes::

We were thinking about going May 9, which will be a Sunday evening? Are Sunday's really crowded? If so, I might wait until Monday evening.
