Is the scapbook store worth taking the time to go into?? I have seen in stores and on-line Disney Scrapbook products. But does the DTD scrapbook store have exclusive items for the parks and DCL?? Thanks

I'm not sure, but it's a definite shop if you or someone you know is into scrapbooking. I would think there's stuff that's exculsive to WDW and DL, such as photo albums and stuff. Disney Stores only sell a limited amount of merchandise, and it's very generic stuff compared to WDW and DL stores. You can usually find specific stuff, like stickers or background pages, at this store.

If you're really into scrapbooking its worth a stop in, but it wasn't as great as I hoped it would be. We were there last Sept. A lot of the store was taken up with stationery and other items.

They have a few exclusive items under their own label, but generally, I found them disappointing. I bought one pair of mouse ear shaped scissors. The rest was ho-hum. The scrapbooking items are also available elsewhere in the parks... like that big gift shop in EPCOT and in the gift shop on the way out of Imagination. I'm sure they're also in the Emporium on Main Street at MK. I wouldn't make a special trip to DTD for it. There are lots of great Disney items on the market right now...more than ever before. Try these sites on line:

http://scrapyourtrip.com/disney.html (Unusual Laser Die cuts and items not found everywhere.)

http://store.scrapinsanity.com/ (free shipping on orders over $25)

http://www.mousememories.com/ lots of Disney and vacation stuff.

They do offer an exclusive book of paper that you can't get anywhere else. It's pretty cool and I can't wait to use

The scrapbook store doesn't carry anything that you can't find elsewhere in the parks. Each park has an exclusive paper kit that you can only find in that park generally it is in the main store or an Art of Disney store in the park. If you want more details about all of this check out the thread on in the creative communities forum in the scrapbooking section.

The DIS' Creative Community has tons of help (and links) for Disney scrappers. :)

The scrapping store at WDW doesn't have anything you can't find in the parks and hotel gift shops, but they have more in one place. They also have a bunch of stuff that has no business being in a scrapping store.

It was a huge disappointment. I don't even go there on every trip.

The Emporium on Main Street and Mousegear at Epcot have a lot. Last time I was at the Contemporary, their gift shop had a good selection (B&G, I think it is called or B&V, I dunno. :) )

Anyone know if MGM and AK have scrapbooking supplies/paper in their main gift shops too? If so, what are the names of those stores?

Thanks!

I was very disappointed in the DTD scrapbook store. The only thing that seemed unusual at all to me was a character meal package with paper & stickers with the restaurants names on them.
Other than that, my local shop had a better selection of stickers, die cuts, etc. Do also check the resort gift shops. I got 2 paper packages half price at the Port Orleans Riverside gift shop!

I too found the scrapbook shop disappointing. I did purchase 2 paper packs, and thought that was really nice, but as for the diecuts, stickers etc. I wasn't overly impressed. I was expecting much more.

Oh well!

I was not impressed with the DTD scrapbooking store. In answer to the question above - you CAN find everything in that store elsewhere (parks and resorts). There is a good selection in the big shoppes in the parks - they also have things exclusive to that park. Check the resort gift shoppes as well - the ones in the Cont., AKL and POR all had some nice supplies.

Some of my best scrapbooking items weren't purchased, however. :wizard: Be on the lookout for opportunities to do a little 'collection' of items to add to you book. I picked up the confetti after the evening show at MK in front of the castle as well as the paper leaves used in the AK Pocohantas show. I kept unique coasters, tags...etc. I'm not sure if they still use the nice printed reminders when you exit TOT, R&RC, Splash Mtn. - even if you aren't getting the pic from the ride - they made a nice page addition. I also asked the people at the kidcot stations in EPCOT to write something in their native language on the die-cuts they use to give to kids and then put the translation of it next to each on the page.

Have fun! I can't wait to go back...less than 2 months now!!! :goodvibes
