Downtown Disney and a Toddler...

OK- We're planning on heading to Downtown Disney the first day we are there. How much time should we allow ourselves to see all the shops and so forth. We plan on eating over there, but not sure where yet. Keep in mind- we have a 2 year old!

The time frame is not going to be set by you and how many shops you want to go into - its going to be set by the fact that your 2 year old will want tons of time at Lego and tons of time at the World of Disney and in the sand box and the fountains..... and on and on.

I would do a half day at DTD with a toddler. We spent a good three hours there - did Lego, gathered our Potato Head parts - played in the fountains and then had pizza for lunch at Wolfgang Pucks. It was a blast. My DH and I did manage to get a little time to look for our own stuff and clothing. I think DTD is a blast for toddlers.

Hello,
In my experience, there is a lot to do down at Downtown Disney. I love it there, course, I always wish that I were rich when I'm there too. Anyway, there is a lot for a little one to do down there. I know our kids love Rainforest Cafe and so we try to eat there. If you're going to let the kids do the sidewalk fountains, do that last because our kids get completely drenched. They love every minute of it though. I've gotten some great pictures of the kids playing in that.
As Castlegazer stated, it will depend on your two year old. I have a two year old of my own and she's pretty much in charge no matter how much we try to change that. Think about how your little one behaves when you're at a mall. That should give you a good idea of how things will go for you except for the fact that Downtown Disney has so much for the little ones to check out for themselves.
