Okay, to lighten the mood (I am sad about Sybil too), post some of your favorite quotes (any show, any season)

I actually LOL when Dowager Countess said "I need a drink" then she turned to Robert and said "oh, I thought you were a waiter" This was when they were going to have the buffet style dinner (season 3, 1st episode)

The entire season was finished on Dec 27th (?) in the UK.
Just a heads up.
I'd stay away from anywhere it might be spoiled.

Season three actually finished late October/ early November in the UK. Then we had the Christmas Day episode, on Christmas Day

If you can get hold of the Xmas episode, watch it ASAP! It has some happy, but a lot of sad too.

I read somewhere that PBS is trying to bring season four to the US sooner. Hopefully it will start around the same time as the UK

We still have to wait until 2014 for season 4

I do not mind spoilers and will respect others wishes on that subject. However, is there a timeframe that we should wait to discuss specifics of episodes? I understand, with DVR & such, many people may not watch the show on the night it is aired. I feel bad for the poster that read the reply in her subscribed threads but (if my time stamps are correct) the PP who wrote that did so on Monday after the show aired.

I don't want to ruin the show for anyone else, but I do enjoy talking about it with other Downton fans.

It's due to start here in September- but I'm sure you all in the US might be able to get the episodes off of the computer sooner.

It's always frustrating that American movies don't come out here for months after being released in the US. I've been waiting for Wreck it Ralph for months now! So I know it sucks having to wait longer than you need to.

Anybody in the US who wants to watch Downtown Abbey in September from British Television, you can easily do so using the Chrome Web Browser and a new add-on that was just released. Lifehacker just did an article.

Put in the Add On on the Chrome Browser and then go to the ITV network website and find where Downton is streaming. When it asks you to verify a zip code look up one for London and put it in.

A nice poster on another site I frequent summed t up pretty well. I will paraphrase:

Cellmate and Guard are in cahoots- they are smuggling opium into prison and selling it. Cellmate tried to intimidate Bates to keep him from telling anyone about the drugs. Bates threatened him back, and he became enraged. Guard stopped Bates from getting mail and visits from Anna.

Cellmate planted opium in Bates bunk, and Guard set up a "surprise" search. Sympathetic Inmate tipped Bates off, and Bates hid the drugs, so when his cell was searched, nothing was found. Later, another search was done, and Bates hid the opium in Cellmate's bunk. It was found, and Cellmate got an extra year of jail time.

Bates got his letters back and Anna could visit again (not really explained how that happened). Cellmate and Guard now know about the neighbor who could prove Bates innocence, so they are planning to somehow stop her from giving any statement that would help him.

I love it when she says 'stick that in your pipe and smoke it' to mrs crawley! She is funny. She is hilarious in the Best Exotic Marigold Hotel (a movie) that recently came out. Watch it if you can!

No, it was broadcast on Christmas Day but not set during Christmas. A lot of people were disappointed because it wasn't about Christmas, along with the plot line.

Glad to help- it was a help to me, too, to read it on the other site. All those whispered comments in really thick English accents in the jail had me confused.

I am really bored with the whole Bates storyline too- at this point, I just want him to be done with jail. Ugh!!
