We finally have it down to three hotels in LBV and I am hoping to get some opinions on them.

Our options are

DoubleTree Club at the Crossroads of DTD

Holiday Inn Sunspree (by booking through Virgin we get a free upgrade to the kidsuite - not guaranteed)

Fairfield Inn by Marriott near Premium Outlets

The variation on cost is not much difference £100 between all three. So I am just hoping that the various experts out there could give me a honest opinion on each of these hotels.

Many thanks

I am booked into Fairfield Inn for 2 weeks in 2 weeks, so if you can wait I can tell you all about that hotel soonish. We chose it due to its location near Disney and the other parks, and also because there is a Bennigans and Outback Steakhouse nearby! (Our faves!)

hi

Hi

The double tree is on the main road on the 535, which is a very busy road. However it is by far the nearest to Disney downtown.

The marriott looks nice, there are only a couple of eateries near by, so you have to drive everywhere. It is at the other side of the I4.

The other hotel, is a bit away from the marriott going away from Disney.

I thought that the double tree looked shaby from the outside, especially in view of the fact that it was a few £100.00 more than where we stayed.

Have you looked at the shearaton safari. That one looked very nice. Lovely pool. At the end of the day, you are only sleeping there. We stayed at the country inn and suites, next door to the safari. It was over £200.00 cheaper than the marriott which was my second but more expensive choice.

It depends how near to Disney you want to be.

Where ever you stay in America, you will be fine. The hotels are clean and far more upmarket than those in spain etc.

Have fun planning and don't worry.

I think the difference between the distance from the Double Tree and The Fairfield to DTD would be less than 400 yards? Given the distance down from the Crossroads to DTD is quite a way, you would probably need a car at both anyway???

True to say that The Fairfield only has Bennigans, Outback, Premium Outlets (with Food Court, Bahama Breeze, Landrys, Wendys (to name but six) in close vicinity and Double Tree is on Disney side of I4, but I'd bet they are similar offering.

The Fairfield is newer and came out well on a recent thread here for things like cleanliness and the free breakfast offering via Virgin? ::MickeyMo

Is the Wendy's you refer to in the Premium Outlet Mall? If so, there is one closer to the Fairfield Inn, next to World of Denim, just opposite the Marriott on 535. TGI is closer than the Outback - and not forgetting all of the restaurants in DTD, which is only a couple of minutes drive away. I think realistically you need a car wherever you stay off site so I don't think it is that essential to be within walking distance of lots of eateries. There are shuttles you can use from Fairfield to DTD if you dont want to drive - you would have to do this no doubt on site at Disney so in my opinion its no different.

I meant the Wendy's between World of Denim and Walgreens at LBV, didn't know that there was one at Premium Outlets.

Take a look at Google Earth to get your bearings.

Not tried Google Earth yet I hear you say......? ::MickeyMo

Probably worded it badly - I didn't think there was a wendy's at POM either. Have been using google maps on the satellite images - and my memory from 2001 when we were last there!
