Down By The Boardwalk, Out By The Mouse. 3/11 Jen's New PTR Pg. 69

Jen! Welcome back and a huge congrats on the scale not moving, that's outstanding! Between you and Mary Ellen I may actually be inspired to work out in May, as a general rule we take a break on our workouts while on vacation but I'm going to feel like a bum around the the 2 of you! I am grateful report though that thanks to a recent gym switch where they finally have the combo of classes I want/need I finally feel like I'm back in the right groove with my workouts, I knew I missed pilates, knew I was crabby for a month about the whole thing but really underestimated just how deep that loss was until I went back. :thumbsup2

Leslie. OMG I would have lost it, even the SOUND of someone doing that can make me lose it. :scared1:

What a lovely walk you had and how smart of you to make the time and realize what you needed, it sounds just perfect!!!

Joining in on the fun. Anxious to hear about your reviews of Boardwalk on rented DVC points as myself and my family are doing the same thing in June. We are very excited. Looking forward to hearing about your trip.

Okay Jen, where are those pictures!!?? LL, come on! I can't have the only visual image of your trip thus far be of a puker on the ME!!!! :rotfl:

Hope you are not buried by the snow, and Jen, hope you cold goes away!

Welcome home Jen!

LL I'm glad your travel/first day went well! :scared1: Holy moly with the lady getting sick! Not good! Definitely not a good way to start a trip! Poor lady! It fabulous that you watched Sex and the City your first night!!!!

So what does a snow day in Texas look like....well why don't I show you!!!!! Please ignore the 27 year old goof ball in the photos...he was like a kid in the candy store that day!!

Yup all that got us a day off school LOL!!!! :lmao: It was a much needed break though!! Now I'm ready to get back into the groove!!! If only I could just snap a finger and get all my grading done!!!!!

:rotfl2::rotfl::lmao: Seriously? That is cause for a snow day? I want to be you! :worship: I'm tempted to post pictures of our 7' snow drifts for contrast. :)

Enjoy the "snow." :goodvibes

That caused a snow day? :rotfl2:

I'm sorry. That's so funny. We have been DUMPED on up here, that looks so weeny to me. :rotfl2:

My boys were laughing when I showed them the pictures & told them you had a snow day! :rotfl:

Yup that's all it takes!! We wouldn't know how to function down here if we got the amount of snow you guys got!!!!!! You should post your pictures!! That would be hilarious!!!

I have no doubt that my snow compared to your snow looks dismal!!! You guys have gotten dumped on, its borderline ridiculous the amount of snow you guys have received!!!

My boys were laughing when I showed them the pictures & told them you had a snow day! :rotfl:

I still laugh at it!! If I wasn't so excited to just see the stuff (of course once a year is fine with me LOL) I would have been shaking my head!!! But you should have seen the reports on the number of accidents we had, people just have no idea how to deal with snow!!!!

Oh how I wish that we would get snow days when we get that much snow! :lmao:

I don't think you guys would work from December to March if that was the case LOL!!!!! :rotfl:

Here are some real snow pictures for you:

(Yes - that's our Christmas tree... long story... :sad2:)

This is cracking me up! :lmao:
I love my Sex and the City!

The snow in the NE is unbelievable! We were out two days last week and have more snow predicted next week.
I just hope we can go to school!

Jen, have fun with yours. Did you go out and make a snow angel?
This winter has been completely awful. I am ready for Spring! More snow tomorrow but only 3 inches so that is nothing compared to what we have been getting lately.

Do you have any idea how it was absolutely killing me that you had an update posted, and I couldn't read it due to the crazy week I had? I feel so much better now!

Jen, glad you enjoyed your snow day. We don't want any more here. :goodvibes

LL, a puker? Ewww! Not the ideal way to start your Disney trip. :sad2:

Silly crazy weeks! I had one myself at work last week and this week seems to be starting out the same way.

I was so freaked out by the puker. I made sure she wasn't on any other Pop bus for my stay there.

Yay! Officially Welcome Home to both of you. Yeah, it's been a while since I've been DISing. Crazy week.

Jen - glad you enjoyed your big snow! We've actually had a couple "nice" days here - made it above freezing yesterday! But the feet of snow piled up around didn't seem to shrink any.

LL - totally LOL at your Sex and the City addiction!! I never watched it before, when they were new. Never had HBO. Saw some in reruns and now I wish I had time to watch them all! Did see the 1st movie. Now we have HBO of course. But the kids being around hampers my adult TV watching. (Not THAT kind of adult TV!!)
I never watched it on HBO either. I started watching the reruns on TBS and then decided to buy them because they censored so much and I totally became addicted!
Welcome home, Ladies, although I'm a tad late getting here.

I like your approach to the highlights, there's already a lot there. YUCK on the puker, I had a similar experience on my trip- and I can attest- THAT is a downer and hard to put out of mind and sniff.

You did something that was on my list- but didn't get to... the walk around the lake. Wished I had done it. Good for you, having such a relaxing evening/day.

Again, welcome home!
I was so thankful that I had gum with me, it really helped me.

The walk was really nice, I was happy that I took the time to go out and do it.

Me too! It was awful. I decided I was going to do what made me happy on this trip and I did so it was a very successful trip!

Okay Jen, where are those pictures!!?? LL, come on! I can't have the only visual image of your trip thus far be of a puker on the ME!!!! :rotfl:

I'm trying! :rotfl2: Hopefully I will get an update today.

I really loved my first day, it was just perfect for how I was feeling and what I wanted to do.

Reason Number 567 why I love living in the South: just a little bit of snow gets us a snow day! :thumbsup2
I'm about ready to move south!

Here are some real snow pictures for you:

Yep, that's real snow. :rotfl: Cute pictures!

Thanks Brook!!! I did work out most mornings!! I did take a few off here and there only because I'm not used to working out on machines and I got sore easily!!! However I'm really struggling to get back into a workout routine here at home!!!! Two mornings no workout! I'm blaming it on the cold I brought home with me!!! LOL!!!! I really don't want this to derail me either!! So I'll encourage you and you can encourage me LOL!!!!!!

I am going to download my pictures starting to day and hopefully do a first day update here soon and start on the dining report, I'll post a link!! The food was amazing!! YUMMY!!!!

You can do it Jen! Get back into your routine, you will be pleased you did on WI day! :yay: One quote I read on the WW boards earlier today was, "With perseverance even the snails made it onto the Ark." Isn't that a good one?

I didn't work out at ALL this weekend. I did some walking, but not as much as I usually do...so I gotta kick it up this week! My goal is 100 minutes on the Wii Fit. Once I get into it, I love it---it's just getting into it that's the problem....and I don't have a cold hindering me either. :rolleyes1

Great job on working out while on vacation!! I don't do machines either normally, so it might be kinda fun to shake it up with that-I'll be careful about getting sore though.

Looking forward to the food report!

:rotfl: Cute pics! And I have to admit, I too giggled out loud at what amount of snow got you out on a snow day!!! But, glad you got it since you needed the break!

Love this one! So cute!

:rotfl2: Snow Day for that? :rotfl2: I bet half the people who live there have four wheel drive and didn't get to test it out! I suspect its easier that salting the streets.

It's cracking me up that you had a snow day for that amount of snow!

The 27 year old goofball is also cracking me up!

I can't believe y'all are making fun of our snow day. :snooty:

I grew up in Kansas and Colorado and never have I seen a town come to a complete hault the way it does here when it snows.
Typically we have more freezing rain and ice days than snow days, but since our illustrious, nobel peace prize wining, genius, Mr. Gore discovering "global warming," we've had more cold winters and snow than ever before all around the United States, including southern Texas!! Isn't that kinda like washing your car and it always raining after? I'm thinking it might be so.
I have a tendency to believe that just when you think you have things alllllll figured out, our wonderful and awesome Creator always throws a wrench into the plan. :rotfl: I love it!

LL!! and Jen!! I'm more of a lurker than I am a commentator, but I'm so happy to hear of another adventure with the two of you!! :goodvibes
Jen, I didn't realize you moved to my neck of the woods, what area of Texas did you happen to move to? If you don't want to answer on here I totally understand. :goodvibes
I think it would be neat to have a meet if the chance comes up. Maybe we can get a few of the Texas folk to make a meet, and if LL comes this way.... even better!!!

I'm so impressed with the two of you not gaining weight when at the "World." It's not an easy thing to do with all that yummy food! :sad2: I too am starting to work out!! I've been inspired through a dear friend of mine, and y'all are inspiring me too!! :goodvibes

This dear friend was just on the HEAVY show on A&E, maybe some of you have been watching it, such an inspiration to sooooo many!
We just attended a wonderful premiere for my friend Sharon last Monday in Georgetown at the City Lights theater, yes there were that many friends and family members who came to cheer sweet Sharon on and support her as she watched it for the first time along with the rest of us. It's hard to not fall in love with Sharon, she's such as sweet spirit.

If anyone is wanting to be inspired, this show can really help put things into perspective!! ::yes::
Sharon is now on a journey to lose a total of 200 lb. by June 27th, (she's already lost 130) this date is special because it's her sons birthday.
Sharon lost her son to suicide a year ago last Sept. and without having to say...this has been the worst trial anyone can go through.
One of the very last conversations she and her son had before he died was more than anything, he wished her to be healthy. :sad1: (rips your heart out)
This tragedy alone you would think could stop anyone in their tracks, but not Sharon. She so badly wanted to stop living and pull the covers over her head but this last conversation with her son is what got her out of bed and living for the rest of her children. She saw an add, answered it, and next thing you know she's been accepted to be on this show and given an opportunity beyond measure!!

This situation more than anything has taught me, I can over come my weight issues, inspite of my physical limitations at times and, no matter what life throws at you, there's always room for moving foward!! :woohoo:

We struggle, all of us. But we can also get beyond those struggles!! Keep cheering one another on, encourage one another and keep moving forward!! Isn't that what Walt said? "Keep moving forward?"

You gals are doing such an amazing job!! KEEP MOVING FORWARD!!! :yay:

Now I want to go watch Meet the Robinsons. <happy tears>

Great snow er.. dust, there, Jen!

I get giddy even with a few inches, too. AND I am glad that you got the day off!

Looking forward to seeing pictures of your trip!! :goodvibes

Oh Jen! I love your snow pictures! That's what would be called a dusting here! I'm just glad we lost a lot of what we had with the rain we had this weekend and warmer temps! I'd like to see my grass again!
