Doubletree Disney Springs - what rooms to request?

I'm planning on staying at the Doubletree at Disney Springs.

I'm not sure about this, but based on reviews I'm reading online, I get the sense that some rooms are significantly nicer or have been more recently remodeled. (For example, you get people complaining about a room being very dated and then a similarly recent review noting how everything was refreshed and new).

Does anyone with experience at the Doubletree have suggestions about where we should request a room? Are certain floors or areas more updated or just more convenient/nice?

I'm not sure I want to abut the pool (we're not big swimmers and could do without noise) but I sort of like the idea of a door I can open.

Have not stayed in 5-6 years and at that point rooms were in great shape.

Just sharing that some floors are designated for Hilton Honors and not sure which level HH folks get them (we are Diamond).

There are minimal rooms on patio level and only half are really close to the pool. You would specifically book them as a category. "Patio Suite" If you want to book this request the wing that is away from the pool.

I'm a Gold level HH member, and we're staying on an award.. Not sure if that's "enough." Are the HH rooms nicer in some way or located in a better place?

Pretty sure they are exactly the same inside they were just on the highest floors.

I would think it is set up first come, so if there are rooms open and you are HH you could be put there. Some rooms face the pool and towards Orlando. Some face Disney Springs and some face north. We've done them all and no difference in noise.
