Doubletree at Universal Thoughts

Hi all - has anyone stayed at the Doubletree at the entry to Universal? We are staying there and are looking for some information.

• Can you walk to the parks?
• Is there a fridge in the room?
• Is there a coffee maker in the room?
• What is the pool like?
• How does the early-entry hour work?
• Any other info is appreciated.

We have stayed there for the past few years with the exception of this year cause we are staying onsite.
1) yes you can walk and its about a 10 min walk and they do offer a free shuttle
2) we had standard room and it had no fridge
3) yes it has a coffe maker
4) the pool is nice but standard with no shade with a pool bar and a hot tub at the end of the pool in its own little gated spot
5) the early entry I have no idea about
and last there are plenty of cheap place to eat at around the hotel such as TGI fridays across the street and a cracker barrel down from it and in the other direction across the parking lot is a steak house , Golden Corral and burger king .

Great! We were a bit concerned about being able to come and go between the park and hotel without having a car parked for $11 per day.
