I will be traveling with a 3 1/2 year old and 20 month old.

Our "travel" double stroller is a Jeep brand Umbrella which is very light weight and low profile (no frills!). It is the size of a standard wheelchair. It will be used to get from point A to point B on the ship, excursions, and in the airport.

I am assuming since it is the width of a standard wheelchair, it will fit on elevators and through common doorways, correct? I know it wouldn't fit well in the stateroom, but it is an umbrella stroller and folds up tightly, which is also beneficial when it comes to on ship "Stroller parking areas."

Any words of wisdom?

Your biggest obstacle would be trying to get around the maids' carts in the hallways. For parking in your stateroom you could store the stroller in your bath tub, or if you have a verandah, you could store it out there.

A wheelchair won't fit thru the standard cabin doors. I've never seen a side by side double stroller that would fit either. Yes, it will fit thru the elevator doors and doorways to public spaces on the ship.

If you leave your stroller in the hall, it will be in the way of the stateroom hosts and their carts as well as any guests using wheelchairs or ECVs. The HA cabins are far forward and far aft, so guests in those cabins must travel the length of the ship to get to their cabins. As above, many people store their strollers in the bathtub. There are a few small spaces in some of the cabins where it might fit when folded up.

I'm not sure how convenient a side by side stroller would be on the ship (navigating hallways that are lined with cleaning carts, navigating around guests, etc), but we personally had a front/back double stroller when we cruised last.
Even with the front to back, we still had to be careful in the halls, but it was able to fit through the stateroom door and didn't seem to bother anyone (only used it a few times on board since it was mostly for our DL trip after the cruise).
It was a sit n stand, and although it did close up pretty tightly for a double, it was still bulky, but we managed to stand it up nicely in the closet without any issues. So as far as storage, the closet is a good option :)

Not sure if that helps at all, but I would definitely consider the logistics of navigating the halls/stateroom door etc...

I have read this question on this site before and after almost everyone sying that they have never seen a side by side fit, we are going to bring two umbrollers ( we have twins) so we each can pucsh one when we need it. We plan on only really using it for the airport and getting on the ship on the first dy and when we leave at the end.

We have the same stroller. It'll be great for the airport, excursions, the port terminal, etc. You'll probably find trying to navigate with it around the ship will be more trouble than it's worth.

The only time I can see using it on the ship is for events like the sail away party or pirate party where it would provide seating during the show. But, it'll be very hard to navigate around the crowds before / after the shows.

Since it does fold so small, I'd definitely bring it (even if it's just for before / after the cruise).

Happy cruising!

We just got off the Dream and I'm not sure, but the stateroom doors seemed narrower to me than the classic ships. I could be wrong.
You might get some dirty looks, taking up that much room on an elevator, especially with a 3 1/2 year old.

You would definitely not want to use it while on the ship. Elevators are very small as it is.

I will have two just slightly older than yours. I will have a double BOB (side by side). I intend to only use it for getting on and off the ship. We need it for our time at Disney World in the parks and have no other stroller so can't bring something else. I am hoping it won't be too painful to get it to our room.

I don't know if this is helpful but I'll try:

The last time I sailed I had a 2 and 4 year old, and I had another one on the way. It was SOOOO not worth it in the park before we cruised so we left the stroller in the car at the port.

I ended up strapping the little one to me in a backpack child carrier that had him sitting on my back above my head, which he loved. Me not so much, but helped keep baby weight gain down :-) The older one walked or rode on dad's shoulders. I also had a wealth of bruises on my legs from the strollers that were constantly knocked into me. It was by no means the person navigating the stroller fault. The rocking of the boat, the narrow corridors, the constantly very full elevators all played a part.

But you do what you think is best. It's your vacation. Your piece of mind and your family's comfort is what matters. I am sure your stroller will fold away nicely in your cabin when not in use. Happy sailing!
