I didn't buy it either. I just saw it and wondered if anyone else wanted to do a swap on that. You and I could probably work that out pretty well since I'm up at the Ice Forum in Duluth every week.

I'm not sure I'd use it? I signed up on the touringplans site (the cost was minimal). And I've barely even looked at it. I looked at some of the historical crowd data when I planned our ADRs months ago, just so I could try to plan which park, which day. I guess I'd like to know what good it would do me. :rotfl:

We have been to Disney several times without it. If you're there at a non-crowded time then I don't think it's a problem anyway. I figure it's clues such as when you go in most people go this direction so you should go the other direction. One tip we've heard in the past is that you should find out which park has magic hours and don't go there.

I read that somewhere else too. But, we want to take advantage of the EMH for the most part - especially the extra 3 hours at night. Is that not worth it? Are the crowds really that bad for the extra hours?

One time the guides at Animal Kingdom told us that we should do the safari first because it's cooler and the animals are more active then. However, we've done it at varying times and we do see different animals. So what we did last time was to do the safari first and then also do it later in the day. That way we cover both times and see different animals.

That's good advice. Thanks!!

I can't wait!!!!!

No kidding. I'm SO excited. It's getting hard to keep my dh from telling the kids. He is so bad at keeping secrets.

There HAS to be someone going that first week in November that needs a stroller!!! Anyone?

Good Monday morning to everyone!!

I hope that Mom2OandE is having lots of fun with the stroller.
Msfredna - only one more week for you ... and then I'm next! :cool1:  I can hardly wait!!

Looking forward to hearing from Jill (rainy~daze) about her trip.

Just wanted to say Good Morning and hope everyone had a nice weekend. I am looking foward to hearing everyones trip reports. Has anyone gone to the MNSSHP yet?

Where is everybody? Jill, I hope that you had fun and a safe trip home. Can't wait to hear how things went!

Hello!!
I am home! It was a great trip, the stroller was fantastic! SOOOO easy to push, difficult on the buses but everyone was so helpful. It was a treat to have it to walk to and from buses and to and from hotel. We had it on the boardwalk and had to walk to dolphin to rent a car, it was a breeze with the kids sitting!
We walked to epcot a few times.
The weather was perfect. Only rained Monday night, which was okay, because we were so tired, we rested up and hit Tuesday full force.
It sprinkled a few other times, one big shower when we were at the pool, but no thunder or lightning.

I handed it off to Mom2OandE cousin in person Saturday morning. I did not use the raincover or sunshade. Though I think the kids would have liked the sunshade, I was always so tired when we got back to the room, I kept forgetting it.

I have not read thru everything I missed yet, so if anyone can highlight for me updates I need to make, I would appreciate it. Or I will read thru tonight or tomorrow. I hope everything keeps going smooth with the swap, it really is a great stroller! My kids wanted to keep it, too. They enjoyed not having to walk much at all. Then saturday and sunday they had to walk a little bit and were so bummed.

We went to MNSSHP tuesday with my DH, best parade I have ever seen. So good, we bought tix and went back sunday night with my sil.
The kids did the pirate cruise at Y&B club, they loved it. While I got a massage at the beach club, it was the perfect mid disney vacation relaxtion moment! My new must do!! I think it may be the best massage I ever had! I am not ashamed to admit I may have snored, it was that good.

We were not on idning plan, room only, and decided to eat a few places and I snagged last minute reservations to Mama Melrose, Crystal Palace and Cape May. I could not believe I actually got places and times I wanted. I had to check back a few times, but it worked out. It was really last minute we changed plans, or else I would have had it booked 6 months ago!! But I really enjoyed not having to go crazy to be somewhere this trip. It was so much more laid back. It is easier to be that way on subsequent trips, the 1st one, I was a crazy woman in my planning, thinking it was a once in a lifetime thing, now I have everyone hooked, it is all they want to do.
Until next year anyway, DH wants to use up the rest of our passes and see some new places. We'll see how that pans out, I think disney while the kids are still young is just right.
Any questions, let me know. We have done an awful lot between all the trips we took in the last 2 years. We add something new every trip.
Though it is good to be home, I have so much to do now.

Jill, welcome back!

We have a new swapper joining December 18 - 26, princesslily. She is post #404.

Other than that, no new swappers. Still looking for someone to take November 1-5. We've had some more interest in January dates (which we are not far from getting to).

Delmar411 made some awesome shirts - post #388. I'm making mine this weekend.

Julie and I were very sad at the turnout of ER (page 28).

And I think that pretty much does it! You're caught up. ;)

Glad the stroller worked great, I can't wait. I'm sure my son will want to bring it home as well!

Sorry I've been absent all weekend. We came home from a birthday party to find water in the floor by the fridge. We cleaned it up only to come back to the same thing later. Turns out the fridge stopped working and we had to rush to get everything in coolers. Then we had to go out on Sunday and buy a new fridge and then make the swap and install the new one ourselves since it was urgent. And of course to get them through the door we had to take off the fridge doors (on both units). At least we had a chance to clean out and we didn't lose as much food as we could have.

Anyway - looks like it was fairly quiet. I tested my inkjet and we're all set to start printing our transfers and doing our shirts this weekend. I haven't printed the transfers yet because it says not to take the transfer out until you're ready to use it and I'm not sure how literal to take that.

Julie - On the EMH - we typically don't get to take advantage because we don't get up that early. We have been to the parks on the day that they had them and it wasn't any more crowded than normal. Our last trip we took advantage of the HS magic hours at night and it was great. It was not that crowded (except waiting on transportation when they closed because then everyone was leaving at one time). But we were able to get on rides quickly without lines and be in the park after dark and it was great.

So if it helps you to take advantage of the hours then do it. Don't stay away just because you heard that. Let everyone else stay away and you go!

Welcome back, Jill! I'm so glad to hear that your trip was great. And, wow, the Halloween party really must have been good for you to want to go back again. We've decided to skip it this time, I think. Doxxie gave you a very good summary of what's happened since you left.

Doxxie - wow, that's terrible about your fridge! Talk about an unplanned expense, huh? We took my car in last week for the normal oil change and asked them to check the brakes because they were a bit rough - and I had to get all new rotors and brakes on the front. Ugh!

And thanks for the EMH advice. I doubt we'll get up early enough for the morning hour very often. I would rather stay out late and enjoy the fireworks and parades.

You have to see Illuminations at Epcot. It is a great show! There are some suggestions at places to eat dinner where you will be able to see while you're eating. We just lucked into it the first time as we were in Japan eating and people started gathering and requesting the window seats, etc. Right as we were leaving they were starting the show so we were able to grab a spot and see it. Couldn't have worked out better. I think over around Rose and Crown you can sit outside and eat and watch. But last time we went we just found a place to stand and watch. That time we had kids and we weren't eating that late!

This year supposedly we'll be able to see fireworks from all the parks from our condo. Of course they will be in the distance, but.... I can't wait for that because it means we will be able to see them on nights we don't go to that park and/or we don't have to stay late JUST for fireworks. We only plan to see Illuminations and the Christmas Party this year. We did the HS show last time and it was really good but we're not planning to do it this year. That could always change though.

Thank you! This is great information. And that is cool that you'll be able to see the fireworks from your condo.

Be sure and post pictures of those shirts when you get them done. :goodvibes

I have updated the first thread. We have a few new swappers :
Princesslily
Vbarry
Kwilliamsrn

Still trying to fill gap 10/31-11/5. And now gap 1/2-1/11.

Doxxie,
Last year we stayed offsite around the area you will be, and we were there for New Years Eve. My DD was super sick, so we stayed at the room that night and saw fireworks from every angle! I don't know what all parks do them year round, but you have a good chance of seeing some from your room.

Julie,
We actually enjoy evening EMH, not too crowded anytime we have been there. Never got up early enough for morning, though I have tried. This was the 1st year we watched Illuminations from land, we had done the fireworks cruise before (awesome!!), but we watched from the landing off of the bridge to International Gateway. It was a nice spot and wasn't terribly crowded.

has everyone been in touch with the swappers they are handing off to?
want to make sure that everyone knows when and where they are maing their swaps.

I had it waiting for me at BW bell services when I arrived. I had the claim check # from the swapper before me, and they were able to find it no problem.
