I thought everyone was probably just busy. I found the kids some T's at the Disney store over the weekend for $5 each. I got dd a Minnie and Daisy and ds a Mickey and Donald. I've bought ponchos. But otherwise, I feel like I still have a lot to do to get ready to go.

OMG, I am spending more than that on the shirts that we are making. They will be more customized as to which park we are going to and things like that but they are getting expensive (as a whole anyway, I guess the individual shirts aren't too bad). We found the t's at Michaels for $2 on sale. I found someone who was giving away an inkjet printer (we have laser and you can't use that). I had to order a color cartridge for almost $40 (that's why we use laser). And then order the transfer paper. But all of that is ordered now and all we have to do is print the design and iron it on. I think the shirts will work out well and as long as the ink holds out we have enough paper to do 60 shirts (which we won't do this time but I may do some more shirts for other events). I am not sure how long the ink will last though. So DS1 will have a shirt for every day, DS2 will have a few onesies to wear and the adults will have a few shirts.

Good news is I THINK we have all of our special items for the trip (new tires, new tennis shoes, the shirts, etc). So now we just have to wait to pack!

Oh - I do need to check into the Epcot passports today.

I can't wait to go already!

Okay, the old passports were discontinued and they have new ones out. They also have one for AK. I think buying the passport (9.95 for epcot) would be cheaper and less time consuming than printing one and making it. I wanted to see it before I go down there but you can't see it online and it's 9.95 to ship it which doesn't seem worth it!

So I have a favor to ask...can someone take a peek (as much as possible) at the passport while they are there and let me know if it looks cute for a 4 year old boy? I'm sure it will be but I've also seen some pretty cute designs to make your own. Apparently the package comes with buttons, flags and stickers but I want to make sure the pages are cute. I'm not sure if they will have any open and in sight, but they are apparently in the gift shops in Epcot including MouseGear.

If nobody has time or forgets I understand, I just thought I'd put it out there! Thanks so much.

I wonder how Jill is doing down there!

I'll try to do that while we are there, if no one else has by that time. I bought my dd the Guide to the Magic book. It looks nice - but it is a bit bulky. Hopefully it won't be a big pain to carry with us. I expect that we'll only bring it out for the passport stamps at Epcot. The other things like "ride reviews", etc. could be done after the fact.

I hope that Jill is having a great time!!

I don't know how many of the kids are preschoolers (I guess a good bit since they can fit in the stroller) but I found a great site at Disney this weekend. It has maps for them to print and take, activities they can do before and during their trip, etc.

http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/wdw/experience/expLandingPage?id=PreKExpLandingPage&bhcp=1

I downloaded a few things including an activity book with maps and things for them to do such as put a photo, draw, play tic tac toe (good for long lines). If you can't find that just let me know and I'll email it to you or put it up on my site. I don't see a way to attach a file here.

THANK YOU! That book sounds pretty neat too. I didn't look into that as I though it was a guide book and not something that they could interact with.

I think that there is one that is just a guide, but I got the kids version. It is nice in that the whole thing is in full color. There are pictures of most of the rides, passport pages and autograph pages. Then in the back there are pages where you can "journal" your trip - but it's kind of fill in the blank. Like we went to fill in the park today. The weather was _____. I ate ____. Well, you get the idea. :lmao:

But, like I mentioned, it is kind of big. It sure is a good thing that I'll have this NICE stroller to put a bigger back-pack type of bag in isn't it? :lovestruc

Those look so good! Now I feel better about doing mine (which we will do Oct. 3). Did you get all of your designs on here?

I did get them all here. There are so many talented designers down on the creative boards. :goodvibes

Wow! I'm impressed. Those look really good.

Thanks! I'm having fun making all the different tops and the kids are really excited about them.

No offense ladies, but making T-shirts is a little obsessive for me. :)

I do like them though.

I haven't done much about our trip lately as DS had his first day of school (PreK) today. It went really, really well and so I hope to get back to planning things once it settles back down around here.

 Obsessive doesn't really cover it! ;)

No offense taken. I'm having fun and it's not like I have anything else to do all day/night since I'm trapped at home w/o a car. I'm just counting down the days to where I don't have to see my house for a whole week. :rotfl:

My dh thinks that I'm a bit obsessed and keeps asking what I'm going to do once our trip is over. What he doesn't realize is that I'll likely just start planning another trip!

No kidding! I've already got the next 2 trips planned already just waiting for my booking window to open with DVC. ;)

I so wished we had joined the DVC years ago. We couldn't afford it (still can't) but the point price has gone up since then. Oh well.

If any of you are members and are ever looking to rent your points out let me know! We did that for our last trip and it worked out so great.

This time we were going down there for a convention so we planned to stay off site anyway and go other places but we got a deal on our tickets so it looks like we'll be at Disney every day.

No offense taken. I saw the idea on here and thought it would be a great way to have a custom shirt and a souvenir and not have to pay full price. I thought it would be cheap and easy but it's turning out to be more of a project than I planned.

My plan was to surprise everyone with them. But I got my mom involved to help and then I had to discuss it with DH since it was costing us. There is still one shirt that will be a surprise for him. And it will be a total surprise to DS. For him I plan to wrap a shirt up for each day. Then he will open the shirt and it will tell him which park we're going to because it will be customized for that park (for the most part anyway).

Of course by the time all is said and done I'll probably just have it in a bag and pull it out for him! :) It would be so cool if we could be flexible enough to say okay whatever shirt you pick is where we will go and let him pick randomly. But we can't. I'm sure I could "fix" it somehow to make him think that if I really wanted to. But I'm not that obsessed!

I'll keep that in mind. ;) We might be renting points out in the near future just to get ahead on the maintenance fees since our AKV dues will kick in starting in May.

I just need to see where we are once I book 2009's 2 trips. I have DH booked for Star Wars weekends but I'm going to cancel that as I don't think he's going to be able to structure his schedule to accommodate that work.

You're making me so jealous! :) I so wish we could go more than we do. I guess we're lucky because we've managed to go in 2001, 2003, 2006 and the upcoming 2008. So that's not too bad.

Definitely keep us in mind. We had a very good experience last time and would love to do it again. Also, I'm sure you know there's the rental section on here. That's where we found the person we rented from.
