We did grab it.....
Soooooo, we are just 2 really big kiddos, that is it! And looking forward to cruising the Magic once again!

Awesome!!! Sounds like I should add two to our Cast Roll Call list then, correct? You know what that means.....

We are 300 DISers strong!!!!

Sorry..you don't win a prize. You just get the recognition! Oh wait!!! You do get a prize...you get to spend a week with 298 of your closest new friends! :rotfl2:

Feel free to check out Post #577. If there's anything else you want to share about the two of you, feel free to do so!

Congrats!!

I decided to add a new interesting stat to our board....

We have 23 states from the US represented on our cruise!!

There may be more, too, because I do have 36 of 99 cabins with unaccounted home states.

Thank you for the warm welcome. This is a very busy thread!
That makes it all the more fun. :cool1:

Update on our flooded church. There's no news. The refinery is buying out homes of people that were in the oil's path, but so far, only homes.

Hey there, Chris...so sorry to hear that you haven't heard of any good news yet. Keep the prayers going!

Haven't posted in a while. We've been busy preparing our old, rickety house for our homestudy, keeping 3 kids busy, and preparing for a potential deployment which didn't materialize, so it's been a nutty summer for us.

Julie!! Welcome back!! I was just looking at your name on the Roll Call list yesterday thinking it's been forever since we've heard from you. Sounds like you have been quite busy, and I'm thankful your family is still all at home together!

That's me one new guy to the cruise. Well I booked earlier in the month, just getting around to getting here.

All the pertinent info has been communicated. :) It helps to have friends on the board already.

Welcome Iggles and Muushka! I think soon the DISers will be the majority, and all of the peeps without the matching lanyards and fish extenders will feel like they are on the wrong cruise! :rotfl2:

Julie! What a cute family. I hope your DH stays home and your little DD makes her appearance! Are you working on a separate home for your home school? :confused3

We were sort of figuring out our excursions, etc, - trying to decide who goes out when and who babysits, etc. Also read that malaria is a prob for little ones, so then do we take them off the ship??? We got busy with our WDW vacation and getting caught up, baby stuff, etc. We need to start looking at it again! Only 13 months to go :woohoo:

I just signed up also, so am also new to this thread. But I noticed this was your first post. Welcome!:yay:

Thank you for the welcome. This really is a great thread.
We booked the cruise very quickly (like 5 minutes once I brought it up to my husband) figuring that we could cancel if we thought we didn't want to do it. After reading some of this thread, I think not!!!:yay:

Welcome! :flower3:

I'm really debating on keep 6626 right now (although it looks like we have 3 Disers in a row). I read the stateroom reports and it looks like there would be some noise in the area from luggage storage and what not...my mom is a light sleeper so I'm not sure if it is a good idea to stay in the location or not!

Hi :) . I am doing my 'cruise homework' (who knew I would have that much to catch up on for a cruise this far out!). I just read your post and wanted to let you know that we had this cabin in 2004 and the only time we ever heard any noise from that luggage was when we boarded and the night before we disembarked. Really, not that bad. You have probably resolved it by now, but just wanted to comment.:thumbsup2

I only have 60 more pages to go!!!:yay:

When we visited Costa Maya in November 2006, we arranged a day at Maya Palms resort. It was a short taxi ride away but felt like we were 100 miles from the crowds at the Cruise Ship docks. Very friendly people, beautiful orchid-filled gardens, nice clean pool, and tasty food. The water was quite choppy that particular day but we still enjoyed the snorkeling. The owners are from the U.S. so language was not an issue.

Thank you for the information. I will investigate! :goodvibes

Myself 37, DW 37, and DD5 will be in Secret Veranda 6634 for DCL cruise # 7, and our second double dip! We were on the Sept Double dip last September and fell in love with the two days at CC.....
#6 is coming up this Novemeber 10th...our second Eastern.

Hi all. I haven't posted in quite awhile. I read up every day though while I drink my morning coffee. :surfweb:

If anyone remembers I was asking about switching rooms. I did end up switching , we are now staterooms 2530 & 2532. My parents are still planning on going with us too. Could you get me updated? Thanks

I have enjoyed reading about everyone's summer. We have gone camping a couple of times, seen a few movies, Sea World, beach, etc. Nothing as exciting as building volcanos and having safari's though. I see that and think oh my gosh, I have NO imagination.

Right now I have to admit I am very in to Big Brother 8. I read the live feed posts all the time & man it's way different than just watching the TV show by itself. popcorn::

But, no matter what, always in the back of my mind is this cruise and what a great time it will be. I wake up every morning and it's one of the first things I think of. :goodvibes I LOVE seeing my ticker go down. It's gone from 19 months to 13 & 3 YIPPIE!

Added: I was just rereading our posts from the beginning & I joined this thread way back in Feb. I was post 165. That was 1270 post ago. WOW time flies.

 Congrats and welcome!! Your family represents cabin #100!!!!!

Hey there, stranger!

:thumbsup2 I got you all updated on the Cast Roll Call List! Thanks for keeping me current. I'm also so thrilled to see that your parents haven't had to back out (yet anyways) as you mentioned was a possibility.

:happytv: Okay....I have a guilty pleasure, too. The only reality show that I faithfully watch every year is Big Brother. I don't know why it attracts me so much because I know there are many more "quality" reality shows. :rotfl2: I just love the dynamics BB has and watching the evil planning and better yet, when the evil planning blows up in their faces! UNBELIEVABLE that Jen is Vanna White's nanny.

I haven't gone to read posts more than a small handful of times, however, I DVR Showtime Too's BB After Dark every night, and then some nights I play it in the background as I'm busy around the house. This weekend I also got the idea of going to You Tube to see some significant highlights that are shown on the 24/7 live feed. So if you're just "dying" to see who's winning a Thursday night HOH endurance competition, You Tube is the way to go. ;) (Oh my gosh I can't admit I just told all of you how attached I am to this crazy show!)

Hi Buckeye Gal,

This might be a second post, memory is going ;), but we will be joining all of you. Just DW and I in a Cat 7.

PS - If you love the US Big Brother, you should download the Australian and UK versions. They are MUCH better and we watch the full season and find them much more addictive and interesting.

Regs,

CJM

Well I did my homework and read (most of) the entire thread. I went through Easter, Mother's Day, Father's Day, and the 4th of July!

I was wondering how many of us are traveling without children? Well, other than U2FanHfx and us?

Well, we are kids at heart! ;)

I found there were only a few on our cruise last year traveling without children. We enjoy it just as much as the next person due to the great service on Disney, ships and relaxation available.

Regs,

Chad J.

We are just two big kiddos also. And we enjoy DCL for the same reasons!

Hello and WELCOME to all of the new people. We are growing so rapidly I cannot keep up with you all:goodvibes

I htink several people are traveling w/o kids. I know Erik and Jason and also Chris and Rob are. I THINK Kimberly is, and Marsha also? No one else is springing to mind off the top of my head, but I think we are about 50/50 as far as will have kids with them and who will not.

Rio is at summer camp now. We dropped him off on Saturday and will not see him again for a week. He seemed really excited (he begged to go) and I have to say his counselors came across to me as excellent (one is back for his 7th year working at the camp, the other is working for the first year having been a CIT last year and a camper for 5 years prior to that) and I love that there is a 1:4 ratio in the cabins (8 boys total in cabin). But I DID find myself wondering what he was up to pretty much all the time yesterday.

We took Selina to Boston yesterday. First to the JFK library and museum (her request). Dave had never been and couldn't get over what a great job htey do there. Then over to Cambridge (as she didn't feel she had enough time there last week). I always enjoy hanging out on the Harvard campus and htere is an excellent taqueria there (not much good Mexican food up our way). Over all a pretty good day. BUT I have to say we have less than great luck witho ur visitors this summer. Selina is our 7th exchange student and we haev had 3 FABULOUS kids whom we wpould happily accomidate for a year and two okay ones and only one reallly difficult one. Selina is hsaping up to be anotehr really difficult one. She shrugs nad says she is not interested in things (like goign up Mount Washington which was the original plan for yesterday) and then changes her mind (last night) and decides she HAS to do them (I REALLY do not want to drive that road and wanted to do it on a weekend when David coudl do the driving). She also is angry because we are "only" going for overnigths in Montreal and not in NYC (she is only here 2 weeks and we have to pay for the hotels/gas/food, etc). Both cities are a 4-5 hour drive for us in opposite directions:confused: Also, we pack sandwhiches when we go places (always it is too expensive to eat out when we are also paying admission somewhere--this is not just because she is visiting) and she "hates" cold food and insists on eating out--I have given in as it is easier than arguing. Now, if she would just not order the most expensive thing on the menu (Saturday her lunch total was more than me, Dave and both kids combined). Next week cannot come soon enough--but I am finally starting to say NO. Today it is raining and supposed to keep up all day. She did not get up and get ready to go as she said she would (another problem--wants to go to places that require long drives and close by 5:00 but doesn't want to get out of bed before noon) and Mount Washingotn will have no views and the road will be a disaster wet so I am not waking her and am calling off today's trip. She will have to deal. I do not feel safe on that road in the rain. Sorry for the vent--but I needed to get this out--and I can't talk with her around!
