My DS is a shortie for his age, and although (as my husband says) he has "balls of steel that throw sparks when he walks", he is just BARELY 40 inches which is tall enough for Tower of Terror (his FAVORITE ride in the world) and Splash Mountain. But not Space Mountain or Rockin Rollercoaster...he sooooo wants to ride them :)

But yes, it's a funny dynamic. DH is 45, I'm 31 and look like I'm in college (I've always looked REALLY young for my age). So when we're all together, it goes something like this:

I am 32, Dh is 48, DS is 5 and TINY, barely 40 inches and 36 lbs, with shoes we get him on Soarin, Splash and Big Thunder Railroad, DD is 8 and ALSO loves roller coasters:)

The pictures are awesome. Thanks for posting the link.

I believe that you just may have seen names that have not been released. I had heard talk about Dreams but not Fantasia. That is neat.

Well, if that's the case, don't I feel special :cheer2: :cheer2:

Is there any talk of when they will officially release the new names? I wonder if what I saw on the inside of the door is right!!!

That's so funny you say that about shoes. The last time we went, the sandals I brought for DS were lower than his sneakers, so he ended up wearing his sneaks the whole time. It DID make a difference!!

OK....Grandma4Ever...am I reading your signature line correctly...you'll be cruising for THREE WEEKS straight??? I'm so envious!!!

I don't have "big feet." I have a "solid foundation" and I'm "firmly grounded."

Hey. My DH and DD will not be the only tall ones onboard:thumbsup2 David is 6'5" (a full foot taller than me--we look ridiculous together) and Marika (age 10) is 5'3" (the average guess for her is 13). Rio, liek his mom, is average heighth but unlike his mom he is thin as a rail (he fianlly broke 50 pounds this year--he's 8). And Brandie, Marika is also "firmly grounded.":lmao:

Everyone send pixie dust this way tomorrow please--it's opening night (and THREE adjuticators from the New Hampshire Arts association will be there:eek: ).

:goodvibes Oh my gosh! I am sooo excited this morning!!! :goodvibes

In the past couple of weeks, I have been looking into spending a few days before the cruise at a WDW resort. Because my employer has a strong affiliation with Disney (and probably your wallet!), I can get an adult 5 day hopper for little over $200. Well last night, the magic came! pixiedust:

I opened my email and what did appear?
Well it was a 20 % resort discount, my dear! :woohoo:

Oh...look at that! It even covers the week before our cruise! So in the spirit of Erica's "Geeks on a Budget", I had to lock it in! I have a room at POP for 4 nights (Monday - Thurs) for a grand total of $295! We'll be heading to PC Friday and stay there to hop on the ship as early as possible Saturday!

One last word as she ran out of sight...
"I'm off to update my ticker now before it is night!" :santa:

That's awesome Kimberly!!

Does your employer have any openings in Eastern PA?? I would LOVE those discounts !! :goodvibes

Kimberly that is a GREAT Discount how awesome!

I need to start looking for deals on hotels, transportaion and weither or not to add days to hit up the world (ok I know the answer to that just need to find way and $$$ to show E its all good! )

Been trying to stay indoors with the crazy fires all around us. San Diego was on fire then to the north LA and Lake Arrowhead, now to the east is Camp Pendelton. Its gotten closer to us (we are still very safe) but now we have the black nasty smoke and ash starting to drop.. My eyes are killing me, my nose is so dry and getting a headach from my allergies. E is laying on the couch and I think he is sick also from it. The kids dont have school tmrw and they will probably cancle it Friday too, depending on how it goes.

Off to get some chow now, and work on a scrapbook

OMG kimberly, you've been busy!!!....

I have indeed! Hey thanks for the names of your extended family members. I had them all down, but it's great to have their names so they'll be on their lanyards!

Oh my gosh...Josh is just too sweet!! Gotta love his hair!! Thanks for sharing! Looks like Rachel keeps you guys busy, too!

Whew! I just caught up on all the chatter from today! Ladies, you are CRACKING me up with stories about height, shoe sizes, hair color, ages, and so much more!

Spoke with Direct Buy and found out 35 Pieces of Ashley furniture came in ...

:woohoo: THAT is very exciting! I agree...you have to give us some pics of the house furnished. Afterall, when we all come over for the Friday night sleepover and breakfast beside the fancy coffe maker, we want to know what we will be fighting over to sit on! :rotfl2:

....who did the artwork on the mickey double dip?? AWESOME!!

It was a collaborative effort! Drea (anewmac) and Chris (Scoobypop) fed Erik (tig82174) [I'm getting scared that I know real names and DIS names so well without looking at my list!] with lots of good stuff. I know several people, myself included, were surfing the net for treasure chests, too! Erik did the hard, labor intensive work though, by actually pulling the graphic together! Yet many many people participated with really good feedback and suggestions, and their vote for the best one!

pixiedust: I do, I do!! I do send you best of luck and for you all to thoroughly enjoy yourselves! I can't wait to hear all about it!!

Southern California Fires....
First and foremost, I feel so sad for everyone in southern CA with these horrific fires. I pray you'll be safe! I just cannot even imagine. I'm sorry you're so uncomfortable. Hopefullly it will stay away from your area! Very scary stuff. I've watched a lot of footage in Rancho Bernardo this week. I was last there nearly 2 years ago. It's just devestating to watch, much less live.

BTW, Tonnie (Catecrew), are you out there? I know you're in San Diego. I hope you and all those you love are out of harm's way and haven't lost anything. Check in with us if you can so we know how you all are doing.

FYI to those of you who may be looking for resort discounts....

I've done two things on-line that may have flagged me to get the special email. So you may want to considering doing these things to see if it flags you, too.

  1. On-line, I signed up to receive the WDW Vacation Planner DVD
  2. At a resort's website, I went through the whole process of booking a room up until I had to put credit card info into the system. At that point, I bailed. A window popped up saying "I see you decided not to book. Why?" I selected the answer somewhere along the lines of "I'm just pricing out options."

Of course I've also subscribed to the "Codes and Rates" threads under "Disney Resorts" on the DISboards to keep my eye on any new specials that may be coming out there. ;)

We don't have much of a presence in eastern PA, but I'll keep my eyes peeled for ya! However in NJ, Delaware, and NY we have lots of corporate presence!

BTW, from your previous post on Sunday (I think), yes, I was excited about the Buckeye's win on Saturday. The end score made it sound like it was a close game, but it wasn't whatsoever. Basicially, the boys put their guards down late in the 3rd quarter that allowed Michigan State to score 2 TDs. Hey put their helmets back on after those "surprises" hit them! :rotfl:

GO BUCKS!

My prayers go out to every one affected by the fires. It now appears that some of them may have been set. I hope they find them and make them pay. This isn't going to affect only those in and near the fire but people throughout the world, family and friends as well as business. Hope everyone on the boards remains safe. Lois

Hey future shipmates,
I've begun to write the TR from our WDW adventure last week, but I wrote this first. I don't know why I did, but some of you might be interested:

Thank you so much for sharing this. As I read it a tear came to my eye. How could people be so rude. To not give him his dignity. All he wanted was to have a short visit with his fans.

So sad for him. Where has the kindness gone in this world. I hope he heard you yell thank you:) I am sure he did.
