If we do decide to do WDW what one park should we visit?

The Studios (My favs: "Tower of terror" and the RR Coaster) !!!

:thumbsup2

OK, my most fav. park is the "Islands of adventure", but I wouldn't post this on a Disney Forum. Oooops, just did it. ;-)

You rock:cheer2:

FYI all, I added Drea's link to Post #1 with the QOTW link....so now you have THREE easy places to access it!
You and post #1 also rock:cheer2:

* also if you plan on doing the parks... a great idea is to find tatoo paper to print on then make the kids tattoos that state if lost call here.. with your cell #. Great for lil kids but also bigger kids that may panic and forget the #. (Im planning on sticking one on E cuz he always forgets our # :rotfl2: )
Found this off the DIS board
If Lost Tattoe's

I didn't even know they made printable tattoo paper. That would have bee ngreat when the kids were little (we never lost them but I always worried about it). Nice tip:thumbsup2

I have a question.. If we do decide to do WDW what one park should we visit? We have never been and I don't know if we will ever be able to come back. I am thinking we may do it for one day. Or should we do MNSSHP instead?
Tonya

I would do MNSSHP. The hard ticket price is less than an actual day and I believe they let you in at 4ish.
Goto Downtown Disney if you get in early. Lots of fun stuff to do and see.

Wow everyone has been chatty while we were gone. :) We drove through Pa and saw Dorney Park. it looked rather cool.

Great packing tips everyone. I bought space bags this year to bring our dirty clothes home in. ( it wont matter if they get wrinkled.) I am also packing our bathing suits etc in space bags too. I also have a pile of disposable clothes for my son. :rotfl:

Yay! Allentown!!!! You must have been on I-78! :) I drive that way a lot -to and from my DBF's house! :)

I wish I had some packing tips to share, but since this is my first cruise, I'm just taking it all in. I guess the tip I can give would be not to let your suitcase go over 50 pounds and bring a luggage scale with you to weigh it. My mom bought me one after my bag went over 50 pounds last year. I will be bringing it with me! :)

That is a great tip we also got charged one time for 2 suitcases because they were both over and no matter what I did I could even them out:confused3 :confused3 so much fun sharing all the stuff inside your suitcase with a crowded Orlando airport!!! That was our first Disney cruise can we say I overpacked just alittle and I didn't even wear half the clothes:rolleyes1 :rolleyes1

The scale works as long as it doesn't throw you over 50 lbs :lmao: :lmao:

To all you lucky ducks leaving to start your vacation on the 20th.....

YOU HAVE ONE MONTH FROM TODAY!!!:cool1: :cool1:

We have only one day a WDW before the cruise and we chose to go to the Magic Kingdom. We have done all of the parks a couple or few times (depending on the park), but for my kids, the Magic Kingdom IS WDW. We also bought tickets to MNSSHP so we will be there all day and night (except for a short trip back to the Polynesian for swimming and a little rest in the middle of the day). The other parks are also great, but a trip to WDW without walking through the castle would not feel right.

For those of you who received the 5 X Disney Rewards Dollars promotion on your Disney Visa card during July, August and Spetember and hoped, like me, to build up a few extra reward dollars to use on this trip, I have bad news. I just looked at my statement for this month and saw no bonues rewards dollars. So I called to looked into it. The woman on the telephone explained that the bonus rewards dollars do not show up for 6 to 8 weeks after the promotion ends. Therefore, we will not be able to use them on this trip. Bummer.

Jen try 123inkjet.com (i believe thats it) I get mine there and its VERY CHEAP. Usually a good package deal too.. AND you can usually find a coupon code by googling!
Thanks for putting the tip sheet in one place ;)

Here come the first Fay bands! This is the slowest moving storm I think I have ever had to sit through. We took the dog out about 30 mins ago because we thought it might be the last chance, and let me tell you, it feels WIERD outside. Like a vaccuum.

I just wish it would go over us already, I'm tired of sitting around watching the news people throw palm fronds into the wind just to show you how strong the gusts are.

That's a true moment from the 5 o'clock newscast, and so is this:

"I'm standing in ankle deep water, folks!"

WHY??? :sad2:
Hoping the day goes well & you guys still stay safe....
Instead of taking the hamper, my dh takes 5 trash bags - one for each family member - and we use those for our dirty clothes each day. He hangs them in the closet or bathroom. Remember, though, that I wash clothes by person. Each person has a different day of the week for their clothes to be washed.
We take trash bags too for dirty clothes. I like the draw-string type because you can loop the drawstring over a hanger in the closet so it's out of the way. Then, when I pack clothes to go home, I sort them by color so when it's time to unpack, I just throw all the sorted laundry into the proper places in the laundry room to wash. Saves time sorting laundry later.
I finally won a dress on ebay:dance3: :dance3: . Only took 3 trys. Should I keep looking or be happy with the one O what is a girl to do???:surfweb:
Awesome!!!! Our Freecycle just had a post for a free dress, worn once to a wedding, in my size that's perfect. Hopefully I'll get it...what would be better than a FREE almost new dress?

On Monday, I picked up a breadmaker from a Freecycle friend. She said it smelled funny when she baked a loaf, but when I got it there was a bunch of crumbs in the bottom next to the heating element, so I'm guessing the smell was burning bread! We've baked 2 loaves so far and it works perfect. Whoo hoo for a free breadmaker!!

I have a question.. If we do decide to do WDW what one park should we visit? We have never been and I don't know if we will ever be able to come back. I am thinking we may do it for one day. Or should we do MNSSHP instead?

I would vote for Magic Kingdom. To me, it's the most "Disney" park of them all. However, our favorite park is EPCOT and our family would probably choose that over MK if we had just one day to visit. Not very helpful, I know...:confused3

NOW MY TIP
*If you have one.. or find it may come in good use buy a Camelbak
its basically a backpack that holds liquid. You can find them in many sizes from 1qt 3-5qts maybe more? Usually Military surplus stores have them the simple/ small qty models run from $15 up.
A Visual...
Great to fill up with water for when you are in port.
classic_camelbak.jpg

also great to conseal... other liquids:rolleyes1

I've always wondered this....how do you clean out the CamelBak?

I wanted to say HELLO!

We are joining in on the fun very late in the game! My husband and I booked today! We are booked in a Cat 8 GTY. :woohoo: There wasn't much to choose from!

A little bit about us - I am Katie 30, Dwayne is 35 - we are currently stationed in Baumholder, Germany as my DH is Active-duty Army. He is currently on his 3rd combat tour in Iraq and has about 2.5 yrs to retirement at 20! He got word this week that his R & R is going to fall at the end of September so here we are. I am a full time student and work p/t at the hotel here on base and do a little travel on the side. Our stepdaughter will not be with us this cruise due to school. Our most recent DCL trip was the 4 night Wonder over New Year's Eve 07-08 and we have sailed on the Magic one other time in 12/2006 when he was home on R & R.

Just wanted to say hello to my fellow cruisers! Hope I haven't missed out on all the fun!

Welcome Katie! Congrats on booking. You definitely haven't missed out on the fun. This is quite an active group!

Welcome Katie!party:

You haven't joined too late & there are others here who know way more about the group info than I do. I'm SURE they'll chime in here before too long!

If you go to page one of this thread, there is an all-inclusive post with all sorts of info about the goings-on that we have planned....I do know that much...

Have a great day & look forward to meeting you!

Hey everyone,

I know I haven't posted in about forever....life has been nuts the last two weeks. I was in NYC and Buffalo, NY last week for work and then I spent the whole weekend and most of this week with my cheerleaders. Try-outs began on Monday and so I spent literally two 13 hour days in a row over the weekend working on jumps and perfecting last minute tumbling before try-outs began. Then try-outs began on Monday afternoon....which takes up several hours each night every night this week...in ADDITION to my job! AAAAAAHHHH!!!

Anyhow...just wanted to post quickly....

Two questions of the week to catch up on:

1.) Favorite Live Action is Pete's Dragon

2.) Packing tip is probably the luggage scale. We bought one a couple years ago and we don't go anywhere without it ever. Another tip we do is we have a duffle bag that zips into itself so that collapsed it's no bigger than a paperback book but opened up it is the size of a decent carry-on bag. We alwasy pack that in our suitcase folded up "in case" we end up coming home with more stuff than we left with (like souvenirs, etc.).

Also....I have been lurking and reading posts and I noticed someone posted that there is no alarm clock in the room....and I'm not sure that's accurate. I'm almost 100% positive that the propellor shaped clock that is on the nightstand is an alarm clock. It is not a typical digital alarm clock like they have in most hotel rooms...but it does have an alarm you can set on the clock dial and will beep to wake you up. (At least that is my recollection...because Jason and I never travel with a clock....and I'm pretty sure we've used it to wake up on all our previous cruises).

Thanks for the warm welcome and yes we are originally from Texas (well me from NY I am a transplant)...we did just get to Germany in March!

Welcome Welcome. You are in the same boat:rotfl2: as several of us who have had cat 8 GTY for a while. Mine is almost a year.

However Disney seems to have no rhyme or reasons with upgrades so I truly believe you have just as much a shot at an upgrade as we do.
