Thank You ALL... I know she is in her 80's so it is "her time" but she's been my Grandma for the past 12 years and it is hard to know I'm in Florida and they are in NJ waiting for the moment she just lets go :guilty: She is a Great woman and loved me like one of her own :goodvibes

Ok, umm.. I need a little help.. Has anyone here ever used a Taxi service other then Meers? I need a one way ride from my house in Winter Garden to the Orlando airport on Tuesday night.. :confused3 I was trying to find a company that a Dis'er used and liked..

Stacy, I know how hard it is to let go, but sometimes it really is for the best. My Pop-Pop held on for just a few days that seemed like a lifetime. He was 91 but we still were not ready to say goodbye. I am so sorry for you and your friend. It will be much harder on you than them. She is in God's hands and soon will be in a better place....no matter how hard it is for us who are left behind. :grouphug:

I have never used them personally, but I have received great reviews on FL Tours. We were going to use them before we realized it would be much cheaper to rent a car and drive ourselves from the Port to Disney.

I have made 48 mini scrapbooks for my FE and they are Done, Done Done. If I never see another file folder it will be to soon. I might grab it and just start folding it. Yeah!!!!!

Now I can start getting caught up on my kids books since they are well a year behind

It's so sad, I'm running out of time doing my F/E gifts so I'm recruiting my sister and my mom to help me finish them! Darn work is getting in the way of my cruise prep! :)

I am considering shipping a box to the ship. I know that it has to be under 25#'s and the size of a "record box", what are the dimensions that the box should be?

Thank You

I have heard about FL Tours but they were very expensive for a one way trip..

I know that it's hard not being there, and it's hard letting go. My dad died just over a year ago, and we had to make the decision to let him go. It was very hard, but I know that he's in a much better place and that he isn't suffering any longer. I know, too, that the hardest thing is not being there. KNOW that the family knows you're with them in thoughts and in spirit. :::::big hugs::::: to you and those that love that special woman. Prayers for peace and comfort for all of you.

Kimberly ~ I saw your post about the photo mats on another thread. I can open up Matt's site, but I can't see what the Disney mats look like? Can you?

I just have to say how excited I am that Renny won H.O.H. she needs to get April out of there!

No. I'm thinking he's covering his behind by not showing an image depicting Disney. Nonetheless, I can tell you that the horizontal one looks exactly like the one below, which is shown on that thread.

100_1018-1.jpg

Now the vertical version that I saw that he had at the Ohio State Fair had each letter gradually and ever so slightly shifted to the right. So "DISNEY" is written vertically on a slant. Does that make any sense???

PERSONALLY, I like the one(s) from the other site I found this morning. I like the Mickey heads on this one more than Matt's. I'm seriously thinking about making that purchase. I was just on that site about 30 minutes ago in fact. My thoughts are for a white background with a black second mat then providing a rainbow of Sharpies for signatures. I want to go price out the frames at some local stores before I buy theirs though. So I will hopefully make that final decision this weekend.

I just have to say how excited I am that Renny won H.O.H. she needs to get April out of there!

Me too!!!! I love Renny!

I do have to say that that I don't like this cast nearly as well as recent ones. I'm not even addicted to BB Afterdark as much as I have been in previous seasons. Right now, of course, the Olympics beat it hands down.

Hi everyone! Thank you for all the well wishes about my Big Toe!

Word is that it is not broken, but has a nasty infection instead. (That explains the fever and just not feeling so well lately). The Doc also said she was pretty sure the toe nail was going to fall off. :scared1:

So much for my cute french pedi before the cruise. Perhaps I could get a discount - 10% off for 9 toe nails instead of 10? :confused3

Stacy -

Kimberly - We have the Disney 2006 mat with the Mickey Heads. We found it at the state fair before we went on our trip. I think the other mats were across the isle from where we bought ours. Thank you for the link! I was thinking I was going to have to take the back off my frame again to get the address. :rotfl2:

Actually I'm still missing one picture in mine from 2006 of Doug on a Segway - HINT HINT RHONDA! :rotfl:

ScrappinJen! Great job getting all your scrapbooks done! I can't wait to see them too! I'll try to keep my file folders out of your sight while we are cruising. :lmao:

Have a nice night everyone!

Tiffany

Good news! I'm glad you found out what is wrong. Now it can be fixed.

Another vote here to get April out of there and if that doesn't happen I won't be to unhappy if Jerry goes!! YEAH RENNY!!! you go girl!!:cool1: :cool1:

Has anyone done Busch Gardens or Sea WOrld Orlando... E gets in free and we get tix for $10 we were thinking instead of 3days at the Parks we do 2 and then of of those. We have done Sea World San Diego a bazillion times but then really want to do the 3 parks (not doing the Animal park just cuz well were not into animals much lol) Would love any feedback for any of the parks! thanks!:yay:

Yup, yup.
Here's the scoop..

Sea World went last year (for the first time in a while) and had fun but they are pretty lacking in the ride dept. Lots of cool animal shows, the dolphins, the killer whales of course (yup...more than one Shamu. Shhh. Don't blow it by riding in the observation tower..."Mommy look at all the Shamus! What are their names?" Uh. Shamu...:confused3 ) the sea lions are the best of them, IMO. But I like my rides. Kraken was great but both kids were too short so we abandoned them at the exit to ride (under the watchful eye of the employee there)..the Atlantis thing is a neat enough ride but *sigh* really needs the details cleaned up. Disney this ain't. Same with the simulator ride. And that's about all they had. It was a nice relaxing-ish park but -did I mention- we like our rides. And is you've done the San Diego one I'm betting you've pretty much seen what al lthere is to see.

Busch Gardens on the other hand is a totally different story. Rides freakin' galore. They have awesome coasters...Shiekra has a 90 degree drop, Gwazi wooden dueling coaster, Montu, Kumba are steel coasters and I think they still have the little steel coaster Scorpion ("Enjoy your ride as you expereince the ssssssssssting of the scorpion"...all the Tampa people know what I'm talkin about) plus they have a kiddie wild mouse coaster. They have a ride that is similar to Kilimajaro Safaris (but your ride vehicle goes into the water which is way cool)...lots of animals (I know you said you weren't into them...you can ignore 'em) They have the new Jungala area which I haven't even been to yet..just opened up this year but it has a glider ride and other cool stuff. There are also other carnival type rides, several wet rides, and a huge kids area. Its a dang shame they took out the brewery. You can still get free samples of beer in the Hospitality House but it just isn't the same.

Also right across the street is what we call "our beach"..Adventure Island water park. It is a decent park and usually the price to add it on to a BG ticket is not much more (at least it didn't use to be...haven't done that in a while since we have had passes the last few years). The theming isn't as detailed as the Disney water parks but the rides are good. (ETA: whoops....missed the getting in free part! LOL)

So in a nutshell all things being equal my vote goes to BG. The only downfall is you have to drive the hour to hour and a half to get over here. It's all interstate though. Avoid rush hours and you won't have any problems. Check out the website: http://www.buschgardens.com/BGT/default.aspx
Hope that helps you make your decision. Let me know if you have other questions....esp. about BG. Been there a million times.

Plus I may be able to swim with the manatees and mermaids at Weeki Watchi Springs after the cruise. If possible, I will have at least 3 logged dives from this trip. Not much, you say, but it is a start. A definite start.

Diving with the mermaids?! AWESOME!

HI all,

It's been really crazy - my house is being gutted, so I haven't been online as much as I'd like.

Kids are coming home from camp tomorrow, so I expect it to just get nuttier.

I need everyone to send me their stateroom info if they wish to be included on the treasure map. If you have already sent me a PM - I have it and don't worry about it!!

I hope to wrap it up by the end of the week and get it out to everyone who participated!

Thanks bunches!
Stella

St.Christopher's in Philly. That's where he sees the cleft palate team, so that's where we went to the ER when he first had his issue, and we didn't know what it was. Glad we didn't go to CHOP, because it's a much longer drive for us.

Julie

I don't know that I would ever want to take my child to a hospital who's nickname was CHOP. Sounds too dangerous. Almost like a horror movie.

Letting go is never easy and I have lost one family member a year for the last three years. Not many of us left. I have to trust that they are better off because each was very sick before passing. My sister was only 44 years old. She died in the ER with only her 14 year old daughterwith her because the sister who was caring for her was on the magic with me. We knew she was sick but didn't expect the massive heart attack that took her.

I will keep you in the thoughts and prayers.

Glad you know what is going on with the toe and it is treatable. The nail will grow back. As far as the French Pedi you could ask for a discount they would only be doing 9 toes instead of 10.

:cool1: Dancey Dance! :cool1:
How Cool is this!
I've got reservations to Dive Quest at EPCOT for the Saturday after the cruise! Think of the stamp I'll have in my Dive Log!
That's something I never thought I would be able to do, dive in the big aquarium at the Coral Reef. I am so-o-o looking forward to this! Plus I may be able to swim with the manatees and mermaids at Weeki Watchi Springs after the cruise. If possible, I will have at least 3 logged dives from this trip. Not much, you say, but it is a start. A definite start.

We (Brandie & family) have reservations for dinner at Coral Reef after the dive.

I am SSSSOOOOO jealous!! We're wanting to do that next time we go back to WDW. Looks like an absolute blast. Just have to brush up on the skills so as not to embarrass myself in front of all those in the restaurant.

Good news on the toe! Inf should be easy to clear up w/just a round of antibiotics.

CHOP is the name we in the area call it easier than always saying
The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.

Okay...I'm trying to mentally walk myself through what's going to happen between now and Sept. 27 administratively speaking.

We've completed and signed hard copies of the the on-line documents to bring with us. I'm comfortable with all I need to know about the port, drop- off, check-in, and boarding passes. What about the "cruise documents" you receive a couple of weeks before we embark? I certainly get that luggage tags would be included, and if you're using DCL transfers, you probably have tickets or something like that. However, are there additional documents that everyone needs that are NOT included with the on-line forms?

. However, are there additional documents that everyone needs that are NOT included with the on-line forms?

When you get your cruise documents you will get the Bahamas from.
Since CC is in the Bahamas you will have to fill it out.

Suggest you make photocopy of passport to keep on you when you are in port.

If you really want to prepare print labels to put on your luggage tags for disembarkation so you do not have to manually fill out the tags.

Carry or copy your auto insurance card for your car rental if you keep your insurance id card in your car.

Plan your credit card strategy.
What we do is bring two cards. We plan to only use one. If the primary one gets comprimised I have one ready to go.
