PS: I forgot.....anyone want to parasail with me on CC :rotfl2:

You can parasail with my DH if you don't mind getting wet... He gets dunked every time, guess because someone always tells the driver to dunk him.. :rolleyes1

OMG! I have like 50 pages to catch up on!!!!! This is going to take a while!!!!

DBK1029 and I are back from WDW! We had a wonderful trip but it's good to be home! I can't wait to get back to WDW in 45 days though!!!!!! We both agree that we're glad that we're going on the cruise after WDW though because we both need a vacation from our vacation! :)

Football? baa humbug.. We will be on CC as well.. NO sports will ruin MY serenity bay.. unless it was Hockey.. then we made need to "talk" ;)

As for Dressing.. I am exact opposite.. I wear street clothes all day every day.. Even working at BABW is pants *cause my tattoos on my legs* :sad2: sooooo come cruise days I will be all dressed up and walking funny on heels.. I just blame the ship rocking for my wobbly high heels walk.. :rolleyes1

Awww sorry about your shirt, I hope it can be salvaged, you worked so hard on it.. :guilty:

Cake sounds GREAT sorry about your burn.. :flower3:

Oh and toss me in with the rest of you Lobsters.. I am white, then burn, peel then white :confused3 Tan just isnt in my pigmentation :upsidedow

Welcome back Amy. Glad to hear you had a wonderful trip:goodvibes

AWESOME on the designated message center rooms!! THanks Erik & Jason for working on that...

Gramto3, I think you're our closest room, so we'll be checking with your room #!!:cool1:

Hi Shell....I know you hopped on board this cruise a little late and missed this I posted earlier. If you follow the link here you will find a handy spreadsheet I made up with a lot of the info for our cruise, including the dining rotations. I did confirm (twice) with DCL that these rotations would be the same on our cruise, and another of our cruisemates also called and was told the same thing..so I believe this information is as accurate as it can be (Things on DCL are always "subject to change")
And the quick answer is this:
5:30 and 8:00 - LAAPLAP
5:45 and 8:15 - APPLAPL
6:00 and 8:30 - PLLAPLA

Also I believe being concierge, you can have your concierge team arrange Palo reservations for you. Once you pick a rotation, you can use that info to help determine when you would like your Palo slot. :thumbsup2

Hope you find this useful!! :)

OH! Ok. I was looking into it because Erik said that he had not heard for sure what the rotations were.

Based on the information that I just received, the rotations haven't changed - yet. :) My concierge signed me up for 8 PM because that one goes to AP more often than the others.

I guess that I can wear my pirate costume to Lumiere's the night of the Pirate Party?! That will be a little weird. But it gets me out of dressing up much for that night. :)

I suppose you can say I trained for WDW today by walking around the Ohio State Fair for a good 8 hours. I am WIPED OUT! Man my feet hurt! Where's the Advil or Aleve?!?!! I did take some pics that I specifically had in mind for you guys, so I'll try to get those up tonight or tomorrow.

smilie_trommel.gif
So geeks of a different kind....are there any of you who are DCI followers who plan to be at the movie theater tomorrow night for the live broadcast of quarterfinals in Bloomington, IN?

honey then we are wusses together....

:wave: :sunny:
sunburn.gif
Wuss here too! I burn extremely quickly even if I have SPF 50 on. It's a requirement for me to get a base before getting that near the equator. I started tanninng a week and a half ago. Today I graduated myself up to 7 minutes....but I'm feeling tender tonight. That's probably because I was outside a lot today, too. Although, I tried to stay in the shade as much as possible.

....it doesn't look there are that many passenger cabins on deck 1 in the first place....and they are all on port side. So----if anyone is on deck one and is willing to be a message center, let me know.....otherwise anyone who is on Deck 1 may need to check the message center(s) on Deck 2.

Kimberly---Can you please make sure this info gets into Post #1

We do have at least 2 families who will be able to EASILY run off and on the ship in ports since they're on Deck 1!

I absolutely will add the names to Deck 1 after dinner and a much needed shower from being at the fair. I created space for it yesterday, so it's nearly finished. ;) Again, thank you for bringin up this brilliant idea!

You might want to let someone else carry the cake if it needs to be moved:rolleyes1

:rotfl:

Go for the pants, I am not comfortable in dresses either but since this our first cruise we decided to get dressed up for dinner...gotta love spanx:lovestruc

:love: LOVE LOVE LOVE Spanx!! Oh to be Sara Blakley! Smart, wealthy woman she is now! I have so many styles and colors of her stuff. We know Chris will be in disposable underwear...know I'll be in Spanx on formal night and maybe even Pirate Night!!

.....we've all speculated what the rotations are going to look like...but do you actually know?
....I did confirm (twice) with DCL that these rotations would be the same on our cruise, and another of our cruisemates also called and was told the same thing......

I'm glad you mentioned that Jen. I was going to say that what we have noted in Post 1 came directly from DCL. I think Cyndifan was the one who first got the word, then you further validated it!

....DBK1029 and I are back from WDW! We had a wonderful trip...

Missed ya!!! Good luck on those 50 pages! :laughing: I came home today to find 5 pages since 9:00 this morning and shook my head! I'm so happy you had a great time, too!!

Amy & Dave: welcome back and happy reading. :) we have been very chatty lately.

I would love to parasail, but dh says no way. I dont think my oldeset is big enough..she is 10 almost 80lbs. not sure she would do it anyway.

I am packing extra dry erase markers in case anyones get feet and walk away. ;) Just leave a note on our door...and the girls can be our messengers.

Erica...you and my DW should set up some sort of time to play each other in backgammon....she goes crazy over this game so much that she is always playing it on the computer...I refuse to play her...And yes drinks will be on the table:rotfl:

It's a date!

DH and I are also bringing the MOST FUN CARD GAME EVER (maybe Brandie knows this one?) called The Great Dalmuti. If you can't find us at the adult pool, fruity drink in hand, we will likely be somewhere playing a game. Err, fruity drink in hand.

Oooh, I don't know of that one. I will have to Google after I quit DISsing:rotfl:

Clothes--I am one of the oddballs like pfishgirl who loves to dress up. I get tired of looking like a mom all the tieme and adore that onboard (when I have no cleaning or cooking or schooling or driving or . . . to do) that I have time to "dress" and "make up" I also am more comfortable in dresses than pants anyway (just prefer the way they feel). The one thing I am not overly fond of (okay like many of you I hate them) is heels. But, as I am a full foot shorter than Dave I will wear them once ina while to try to bridge the gap between us. Besides, lately I like them more as I get to be taller than Marika again when I wear them and I am still finding it very disconcerting to look my 11 year old right in the eye without bending down:rotfl:

Kimberly and other old timers: just letting you know our Fresh Air Fund child (D) will not be back this year (we had expecetd him next week). It is rather odd. We called him on his birthday (July 2) and they were planning to leave for WDW the next day (yes going over 4th of July--no his mom had not read ANYTHING about WDW--did not even know there were multiple parks--she told me she thought it should be quiet over the holiday:lmao: :scared1: and they would just wander and do what looked interseting:sad2: ). Anyway, during the course of the conversation she mentioned that the trip was D's Make a Wish wish. Uh, WHAT?!?!?! When I asked (as tactfully as I could) if he was okay and what was wrong she told me it was no big deal just a genetic blood disorder he and his younger brother have had their whole lives. She proceeded to excitedly tell me about the gaming system his younger brother got as a wish while continually reassuring me it was "nothing serious.":confused3 Hmmm, well I know Make a Wish does not give out wishes for "nothing serious" and while I do not want to deny an ill child a visit here I feel I could not keep him safe if I do not know exactly what he has and have a statement from his docotr saying it is okay for him to come (I keep thinking what if it had been him who had broken his arm last summer instead of Marika? I would not have known to tell a doctor anything about a blood disorder--it was NOT on his medical form). So I called my local coordiantor immediately after I hung up with D's mom and after a few weeks of investigating we were informed today that he is "not eligible" for Fresh Air Fund (of course legally they cannot tell me why). So, next year we will start over again with a different child.

It's so great to see you posting again!!! Now send my DS home (just kidding - I know he'd much rather be with you):rotfl2: Now that you two are back from your 1st WDW vacation we can really concentrate on the next one! :cheer2:

Hope everyone else in the family had a great time too! Say Hi to your Mom and Dad and tell your Sis I hope she feels better soon!!!

BTW - after running around WDW all week, you're going to LOVE being on the ship!!!!

Welcome Back Amy, glad you had a Good time, how were the crowds? heat?

Hadley: I am sorry you are not getting your friend back, I know you guys really enjoyed him. I would have done the same thing you did:grouphug:

Hadley - so sorry to hear about your young man from the Fresh Air Fund. I do remember your wonderful stories from last summer (geez was it a year ago already???).

I just want to let all you fellow ghosts know how much I emphasize with you!!!! People always remark how "white" I am and I tell them they should see the unseen parts of me :rotfl2: - on second thought, maybe not :lmao:

Actually, I've never been a big "beach" person (okay, I'll retract the big since I can't deny that) - although I love CC. In the old, old days when I was a teenager and all the kids were getting a suntan (using baby oil no less :rolleyes1 ), I just never got in to it. Course, now I realize how smart :rolleyes: I was avoiding "cooking" in the sun!

I'm also a "pants" person and keep my heels at 1-2" or less if I ever wear them!

I'm another person who likes to dress up. The entire family does.

We all tan, except oldest dd Sadie. She's white, like chalk. I walk out and I'm tan in ten minutes.

Dh is working on a project in Afghanistan to get winter clothing and school supplies to the local kids. Since he volunteered himself, when the person heading it up goes home in Nov. then he'll probably take over until he leaves. That's his big news, as well as the fact that some local men bring camels to the base once a month for rides and photos. So I guess that's a good sign that nothing dangerous is going on up there.

Julie

Amy,

Glad to see you made it home safely..............now time to get ready for the relaxing vaca with your crazy DIS Family!

Crissi

Hey guys thanks for the support about D:hug: It is kinda very sad (especially because his mom will not answer our calls or emails so she is obviously upset and we have now totally lost contact with him--westill tried to call/email while the investigation was ongoing working from the premise that he would be comming on 8/12 and wanting to maintain the relationship). I HATE that he is losing out on doing something he wants to do becauae he is ill. On the other hand--I really do think he would be "eligible" if his regular doctors felt it was okay for him to come and the fact that he is not makes me feel he could be in jeopardy here if he is injured and as much as I hate the current situation I would be devestated if he were to be seriously injured or even die in our care because we did not know about his medical problems. (last year his medical form was simply filled out by an ER docotr--not a regular physiscian--which I took as "normal" for many low income children to not have a priomary care doctor--now I think Mom avoided his regular doctor to be sure this did not come up on the form--based on a couple of comments she made). On the other hand, it is a bit of a relief because (as some of you may remember) D was quite a handful (to say the least) and maybe next year we will end up with a child who is a better fit for us (always trying to put a positive spin on things you know!)

I do have a ghost story for everyone:rotfl: While we do not tend to burn we also are not fond of being in the sun and do wear sunscreen. bBout 7 years ago we got a great last minute deal for a cruise (Carnival--we learned you get what you pay for and the "deal" was not so great--live and learn). So, Dave arranged for vacation time only two weeks beofre we left. When we came home from our Mexican Riviera crusie just as white as when we had left Dave's boss accused him of lying about the cruise and really going to interview elswhere. We had to bring in cruise photos (luckily the kids were at an age where they look different every few months so the photos were obviously recent) and our boarding passes to convince the boss that it was really a vacation:rotfl2:

Hadley, that's sad on so many levels. I'm sorry you won't get to host a special child this year. You indeed had several good stories last summer! You'll make more great memories next year, I don't doubt!

Okay....it's official. I am sunburned! :headache: One look in the mirror and I went :eek: !

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So as promised, I have some pics to share that I took at the Ohio State Fair with you all in mind!
For those who read way back to the springtime in Thread #1, you'll remember that I did my Buckeye duty to educate you guys on the buckeye nut and buckeye candy! In the Ohio Dept of Natural Resources area at the fair, naturally they have buckeye trees planted. So I took pictures of two species. On is the yellow buckeye tree, and the other is the more traditional tree. The pic from the yellow buckeye shows the well known 5 point leaves.
Don't ask what made the Budweiser Clydesdales made me think of THIS group. :confused3 :rolleyes1
IMGP0374.jpg
In my theme of keeping you totally :offtopic:, here are more. ;)
Now, what Ohio State Fair would be complete without.....
...a face only a mother can love?
IMGP0294.jpg
...a buckeye oinker?
IMGP0262.jpg
...a traditional butter sculpture?
Being this year is an election year, they made "Mount Buckeye" featuring the past US Presidents from Ohio. Note that this is literally just over one ton in weight of butter!!!
IMGP0273.jpg
...fried Oreos? YUMMY!!!!!
Gather the kids around, because here are some more they might enjoy!
