AWESOME on the designated message center rooms!! THanks Erik & Jason for working on that...

Gramto3, I think you're our closest room, so we'll be checking with your room #!!:cool1:

Great.......feel free to come on in and visit if we are home (not early morning though, I won't be there. One of my favorite things to do is get up earlier than everyone 6 - 6:30 am walk up to the free coffee deck in my PJ's and have an early morning coffee while watching the water.
Then get a coffee to go, head back down to the room and wake everyone up for breakfast.

My only other alone time is making the kids take their showers and get dressed first for dinner. While they do this I take a much needed nap!!!!!
Jessica (oldest granddaughter) always says: Poor Gram, take a nap so you don't get cranky.......

:cool1: :cool1: Made it to the birthday party without ruining the cake somehow!:cool1: :cool1:

Jessica (DGD) who is now 12, most prized birthday gifts were a Westbrook jersey (Eagles) from us and a BB Gun from her Dad. I think she is my tomboy of the bunch.......she never and I do mean never has played with dolls. Every year I would get her a doll from Santa and she would throw it down and tell us babies were EVIL........hope she remembers that in the future until she gets married. The girls are here now, Jessica is reading a John Deere magazine and the littlest one is playing with her Loving Family Doll house and dolls.

Talk about different personalities.

Yes..I know this has been mostly answered but here's my $0.02. You can do this at the port...it is just like you say, you wait in a (cough*long slow moving*cough) line and get wristbands/pagers and set up your account password.

This is the first time I have heard of wristbands for the kids' clubs. Are the kids expected to keep the wristband on for the whole week? My kids don't like wristbands, especially when going to bed. If they were to "fall off" every evening, would we be able to get new ones the next day?

On an unrelated topic, can anyone help me out with details on the size of the room service chocolate chip cookies? For a bedtime snack should I order one per person, two per person, or two persons per cookie? And can I get milk with that?

->joe

I believe the wristbands have like a scan type bar/chip thing in them for when the kids are signed in and out etc. (Never seen one personally just seen pics and they look larger then just a kind you would get at a fair or amusment partk) If they are lost there might be a charge..... can anyone clairfy that one.

Also have to say I love your 2nd question and I think thats way more important to be answered LMAO I personally dont share cookies LOL Guess we will order the 1st night and see how they are and how the kids do with them. Yes you can order milk :) A man after my own heart  LOL shhh dont tell E :lmao:

In 2006 the kids had wrist band on the entire cruise. Don't know about replacements everyday....

you can get replacements.....make sure to tell them not to make them too tight on the wrists...after the first day they will not even know they are on

The kids are to wear the wristbands every day. My son doesnt normally like then, but I told him to suck it up for the week. ( you can put it on their ankle in a worst case scenario.) I think they will replace it once, but they will not be happy having to make new ones every day. ( if every kid did this, imagine the time spend replacing them.) the bracelets were white, and very similar to what you get at an amusement park. the bracelets are for your childs safety. :)

the cookies are pretty big in size. ( If I remember correctly they are a little bit small than the cookies you would get at Mrs Fields at the mall.) If you order too many cookies, then you have extra the next day. :) You can order milk also.

Well here is the last installment on the FE saga. :yay: :yay:

My new best tool as of last night is.....drum roll.....Lacquer Thinner.....

My DH uses this to take paint off his clothes all the time......Yep......it worked on the paint splatters.......only thing is...now I have a flameable FE.....just kidding!:3dglasses

Here's a preview.....everythings done except painting and cutting the dowels and the ribbons.

Diana,

That turned out great:cool1: Can't spy any issues (at least on the pictures)!

What is the latest on carrying beverages on board.

Last time I checked you had to bring them in your carryon.
You could not check them in your luggage.

any updates???

They are PERFECT and what's a little falamable material between friends? *note to self....if the ship catches fire run as far away from Gramto3's room as I can get*;)

Papamoose--I do not know how old your children are. The older kids (10 and up as of our last two cruises but it could be tweaked since then) do not get wristbands--just stickers on their KTTW cards. The younger ones should wear them all the time. The bands also tell all crew where to get the kids in the event of an emergency--so it really could be a good thing for your child to wear even if not going into the clubs.

Diane the F/E looks great!!!!!!!

I will be making a stop at the grocery store to pick up my case of wine and Sambucca Black!!!!!!!!!! The car service allows us 1/2 hour for this

Diane!!! Great job!!! You're all in my neighborhood, so I'll enjoy and appreciate it even more every time I pass it!!

Diane--Awesome FE! And what a neat idea...having a FE that is reversable. So cute :)

PapaMoose--My son was 4 on our cruise last year, & has a real sensitivity to tags, loose strings, etc. So the wristband was about more than he could handle. I didn't know they were supposed to stay on the whole cruise, & we removed them once he left the Club. Nobody in the Club batted an eye when we asked for a new one. However, I didn't realize the other safety aspects (such as telling where the child is to go in case of an emergency) outside of the club, so I will be more diligent about getting Reese to keep his on this time.

We're back from Cocoa Beach. It was a fun little get away. Jeff & I both agreed that it was a good thing we left our annual passes at home. It would have been TOO tempting to drive to Disney for an evening in the park. But the crowds, and heat, and humidity...I know we would have regretted it for just a few hours.

We did wave HI to the Wonder in port as we passed by on the way to the airport. How silly am I...I got all choked up when Reese was hollering at the ship "We'll see you in a few weeks!" Love that kid...

Hadley--sorry to hear about your special child not visiting. But, like you said, with the doctor reports & the sudden ineligible status, it sounds fishy. Better to protect your family from an unfortunate situation if something were to go wrong...You guys are an amazing family for doing something like this...

Also Diane--my 14yo step daughter is anti-doll too! She was always about horses, basektball, soccer...NEVER had a doll. I remember for her 4th birthday, a friend gave her a Barbie at her birthday party. My husband's ex was so good at teaching Jessie to be gracious...without even batting an eye, 4 year old Jessie's reply was "Thank you! It's beautiful." Once we got home, of course, they figured out a person who would like it more. Isn't it funny how everyone is wired different?

Have a great day all! We're unpacking, doing laundry, trying to vacuum up all the dog hair that goes everywhere while we're gone. *sigh* There's so much hair everywhere....

Hello Everyone,
I have been lurking around for a while. You guys are so funny. I can tell this is going to be a great cruise!
I know that this is kind of random, but I have to ask. As one who will never in my lifetime be able to afford to stay in a cat 1 cabin, I am dying to see the inside of one of these 2 suites. Is anyone staying in one of these 2 suites who might give DH, DD and me a quick tour of the suite on our upcoming cruise? We'd love to see how the other half lives!

Heather--I am sure the DCL staff would take good care of any child during an emergency no matter if s/he had a wrist and or not. But, that band does allow them to know where you are suppsoed to be so it would help them be sure your child gets safely to you--and we all know we want our kids with us when things are going wrong most especially ;)
Allright--we are off to karate now.

Sorry hun no time to lose sleep over your list,... plenty on my list to freakout about still LMAO:rotfl:

Have you had the kids try them yet. I did. Sufice to say there were no rave reviews. I told them how if they dont feel good this would help them on the cruise. P proclaims so thats the only time we have to have them right. I on the other hand like them and might need to go back for another bag. Yet Im really tempted on trying the flavor kind, but my Trader Joes didnt have them only original.

I haven't even tried them yet. They are tucked away nicely with the rest of my "FOR CRUISE ONLY" stuff. ;) I did see the coffee flavored ones at World Market.

Tell your DH thanks............for Bret!!!!!!!!! The Jets could really use him.

I CAAAN'T HEAR YOUUU...............:lmao:

My DH is in a slight depression because of this..........Brett's Packers legacy has been lost. :sad1:
