Hope everyone else in the family had a great time too! Say Hi to your Mom and Dad and tell your Sis I hope she feels better soon!!!

My sister is feeling ok...her knee is starting to hurt now. For those of you that don't know, my twin had her ACL reconstructed today. We got home at 10:30 last night and she had to be at the hospital at 6:45am for surgery. Her leg is completely wrapped up and she has a HUGE brace on. Sadly, that will be me in a few months (probably January) since my right ACL is also torn. This was her 2nd reconstruction and I will have my 3rd ACL reconstruction in January. We have bad knees in case you can't tell! LOL!

Welcome Back Amy, glad you had a Good time, how were the crowds? heat?

Well...last week the crowds were pretty low for the time of year. Granted, there were still a lot of tour groups, but only one was really bad. They chanted all of the way down the street to the Beauty and the Beast Theater!
 Thankfully they were quiet for the most part once the show started. DHS was busy - much busier than it's been in years! I think it's in part because of TSM...which is AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We all loved it!!!! By the weekend, the parks really started to fill up. Monday, which was our last day was busy. We did what we could and just enjoyed the day at MK.

As far as the heat, it wasn't as bad as it could have been. It's summer and it's Florida so it was hot and humid - but only in the upper 80's to lower 90's. I've been there in the summer when the high is close to 96-98 so it was cooler than in the past.

I'm STILL trying to catch up on this thread!!! LOL!!! OK...it wasn't 50 pages...it was more like 30 or so...but it feels like 50! LOL!!!! I'm going to have to catch up on the rest tomorrow!

:)

Great pics Kimberly,
Love the little piggies and Fried Oreo's...YUMMY! Maybe if I stayed away from them I would be so bottom heavy <grin>

Hadly: it takes a pretty special person to do what you do

Fried Oreos are YUMMY!!!!! I won't be eating them any time soon...now that I"m back from WDW I need to go on my pre-cruise diet!!!! But none-the-less, they are very yummy!

I loved the pictures!!!!!! The ducks and pigs are so cute!!!! :)

Great pics Kimberly.

I am happy to announce that I was finally able to find Ginger Chews at World Market today
Just thought I would let you know, because I am sure you were all losing sleep over it :rotfl:

I must be odd man out but I will be on the beach. Could care less about football or almost any sport for that matter. And to boot get really angry to think what we pay them to play while our police and other service workers who put their life on the line stuggle to make ends meet day to day. Can you tell I am a social worker? Lois

I agree Lois, also our teachers take pay cuts left and right and here we pay athletes and actors bagillons. (which I have a rant, I went to a Padres game and Im tired of them running half _ _ _. I dont care if you know your going to get out, run like you have a chance, you never know, what are you teaching our future youth that want to be like you... ok end rant)

Thanks Kimberly. The names are at the top of the FE. I do crafts all the time......I guess it was just a bad day.:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Oh you poor thing.... But I cant wait to see what came out of it, Im sure it will look fine!

DH won't allow me ;) to watch football anymore. He says I get too loud and upset. :rotfl:

HAHA E tells me Im like that with baseball, thats what happens when you play for 12+yrs. Even at pro games I yell, at the ump, the players, FANS that annoy me LOL :rotfl2:

I finished bagging my FE gifts today! Now I just have to make a tag and put them in my suitcase! ONE MORE THING OFF MY LIST!!!!!!

We went to Burlington Coat Factory a couple of days ago and found Grady a Tux shirt for under $10.00! Thank you Hadley for the idea to check there! We also picked up his black dress shoes and a pair of shoes for Megan's outfit. The thing is I had found the dress I wanted to buy Megan, but not in her size, but the shoes were perfect! Well, I ended up buying the dress 3 sizes too big and altering it for her! Now we all have our formal night attire! AND ANOTHER THING OFF MY LIST!!!!

Tiffany

OH man, Im still waiting on some of my gifts to pack up, E's going to kill me cuz its spread out in our room, but I cant move it cuz well I dont want to I have it in an assembly line type thing.. SO Ill just put him to work while he is on leave.

UGGG Still need to get the boys formal gear and me a new dress (ok I have a few I could wear but what fun is that. :lmao:

Nope..I'm wearing pants. Flat out told Hubby that he could do the tux if he wanted but I was going to be in pants or else.

If I dont find a dress I may do that too. Plus I dont have to worry how im sitting, standing, or if any parts of a dress are blowing up or tucked into anything after a few DOTN (Drink Of The Night's LMA) :rotfl2:

Another useful idea for the message centers is for room changes & upgrades...especially if someone is on the fish extender or secret mickey list.

For example if you are participating in the fish extenders and secret mickeys but then you upgrade at the port...nobody will know what your new room # is....so that is something that could be put on the message center boards and people could quickly jot down the room changes.

Great IDEA! Thanks Erik for setting this up!:thumbsup2

Help....quick....someone take me away.....I am a danger to myself.:sad2: Somtimes my DH tells me to just stay in the house and stay in bed all day.

Anyways, if I can't scrape all the splattered paint off her FE, I think I will just splatter more! That will be a unique design won't it! Who knows, maybe Jeninpa will like it that way......doesn't hurt that I didn't tell her yet what happened. SHHHHHHHHHHH

OH NO.... I agree with DH... back to bed is not a bad thing LOL:cloud9:

OMG! I have like 50 pages to catch up on!!!!! This is going to take a while!!!!

DBK1029 and I are back from WDW! We had a wonderful trip but it's good to be home! I can't wait to get back to WDW in 45 days though!!!!!! We both agree that we're glad that we're going on the cruise after WDW though because we both need a vacation from our vacation! :)

So glad you guys had a great time! Welcome Back:banana:

Kimberly and other old timers: just letting you know our Fresh Air Fund child (D) will not be back this year (we had expecetd him next week). QUOTE]

OH WOW... Maybe as sad as it sounds its for the better... I know at times you were pulling your hair out with him. I truly do hope too its really "NOTHING" as his mother said:hug:

I'm another person who likes to dress up. The entire family does.

We all tan, except oldest dd Sadie. She's white, like chalk. I walk out and I'm tan in ten minutes.

Dh is working on a project in Afghanistan to get winter clothing and school supplies to the local kids. Since he volunteered himself, when the person heading it up goes home in Nov. then he'll probably take over until he leaves. That's his big news, as well as the fact that some local men bring camels to the base once a month for rides and photos. So I guess that's a good sign that nothing dangerous is going on up there.

Julie

I too love dressing up. The boys not so much, except E. As long as its not his blues as much as he likes to showboat when he has to. They are very uncomfy LOL. Im glad DH is having fun (lack of better words) :yay:

So as promised, I have some pics to share that I took at the Ohio State Fair with you all in mind!

Don't ask what made the Budweiser Clydesdales made me think of THIS group. :confused3 :rolleyes1
IMGP0374.jpg

Now, what Ohio State Fair would be complete without.....

...a traditional butter sculpture?
IMGP0273.jpg

...fried Oreos? YUMMY!!!!!

IMGP0363.jpg

Looks like tons of fun! I love those horses .... they pull my beer LMAO

Fried Oreos eh? Never had um.. looks yummy though with a gallon of milk. I have had fried twinkies, fried snickers, fried pickles, and fried ice cream LMAO all great so Im thinking the oreos would be too!

I am happy to announce that I was finally able to find Ginger Chews at World Market today
Just thought I would let you know, because I am sure you were all losing sleep over it :rotfl:

Sorry hun no time to lose sleep over your list,... plenty on my list to freakout about still LMAO:rotfl:

Have you had the kids try them yet. I did. Sufice to say there were no rave reviews. I told them how if they dont feel good this would help them on the cruise. P proclaims so thats the only time we have to have them right. I on the other hand like them and might need to go back for another bag. Yet Im really tempted on trying the flavor kind, but my Trader Joes didnt have them only original.

I think I'm going to accomplish another required errand today since afterall I leave in 44 days!! Since it's on my mind and likely one of those things I would skip over and never get done, I want to get my tip currency in one and two dollar bills at the bank.

Question for any of you who have had your photo frames signed by the characters with Sharpies. I have a rainbow of colors in fine and ultra fine tips. Which have you used and recommend? The frame I'll be using is 5"x7" with a 3"x5" off-set opening like you see below.

That's awesome that DH is doing that for the children! No doubt you have a little sense of assurance that he's doing okay and in a relatively "safe" environment. :goodvibes

Oh! THAT'S why I've been waking up at 4:00 am so frequently and can't get back to sleep! I woke up at 4:00 this morning but eventually was able to get back to sleep! Step in the right direction! Thanks, Arin!

I'm glad you finally found them!

OH man, Im still waiting on some of my gifts to pack up, E's going to kill me cuz its spread out in our room...

E's going to be home by a week from now, right!!! :woohoo: How exciting!!!

I love fried ice cream, too! :rotfl: The fried Oreos are absolutely awesome! If you ever get the opportunity, try them! They're so soft and the "stuff" is creamy. Hmmmm....they should make them with Double Stuffed Oreos!!

Tiffany.....Glad I was able to help you with the website....Everything they sell on there is USA warranty...no grey market stuff here!!!!
Enjoy and make sure you always have enough tape & battery power...
Can't wait to see it:yay:

Hey, Videoman. Are you as well versed in digital cameras? I'm in the market for a smaller one that what we have now (Fuji S6000) - ideally one of those really little ones. Like it to have at least 4X optical zoom (really spoiled w/the optical we have on the Fuji) & be $250 or under. Any suggestions? Does the website you recommended carry cameras, too?

Cyndifan
It's up to you and me for the deck 2 crew!!!!!!!!!!!1:thumbsup2

I'm sure we can handle it! :thumbsup2

I suppose you can say I trained for WDW today by walking around the Ohio State Fair for a good 8 hours. I am WIPED OUT! Man my feet hurt!

smilie_trommel.gif
So geeks of a different kind....are there any of you who are DCI followers who plan to be at the movie theater tomorrow night for the live broadcast of quarterfinals in Bloomington, IN?

I'm glad you mentioned that Jen. I was going to say that what we have noted in Post 1 came directly from DCL. I think Cyndifan was the one who first got the word, then you further validated it!

Wow. Your state fair is really early. Ours in NC isn't until late October. We usually go one day & I agree....its a ton of walking. Hope the feet/body recover quickly.

I'm a band geek!!!! Used to really enjoy watching DCI. Of course since I am a woodwind, I wouldn't be able to actually play in one (unless I switched to something brass) but its still a lot of fun watching. Our marching band in HS was big into competition - it was a bad thing if we received any score less than 'superior' & didn't at least place in the finals. Our director wrote all our shows himself & was very talented in this area. <sigh> those were the days. Can ya tell I miss them? (well, at least the band stuff....the other HS stuff, not so much)

Actually tomorrow though, I'll be glued to the results for SYTYCD. Who will win the title?? Will it be one of the 2 untrained but waaaayyyyy talented guys, will it be the girl who's been 'flawless' this season, will it be the girl who was a bit lost at the beginning of the season...........oh the drama! <swoon, faint> :happytv:

Yes, that was me bugging DCL several times for the dining rotations. Of course, its all subject to change.......

I can't wait for tonight to see who wins! I really like Courtney and I think she's the best dancer on the show. I know Nigel reallly likes Katee, but personally, I think Courtney is the better dancer. Twitch and Joshua are both good, but untrained so placing them in certain dance jobs will be hard.
I do think that Joshua has had some training somewhere along the line. He wouldn't be able to do turns the way he does without it.

We'll have to wait and see!!!!! :)

Today is my first day back at work since vacation...what fun! I got to work to find my desk cluttered and my mouse unplugged. So far the mouse is plugged in but the desk is a mess...oh well... I always dislike the first day back after vacation. :upsidedow

I hope Joshua wins tonight. :) Katee lost my respect when she said she would quit dancing if she didnt make it in to the top 20. :( I like Courtney too. Results should be interesting. (I wonder if they will tell you who was sent to the ER this weekend for dehydration --- 2 of them collapsed.)

Kimberly: cool frames!! :)

I'd like to see both Joshua & Katee win. They are sssoooo good together. I really think that Katee is the best dancer of them though. Yes, she did make that comment, but I really think it was just a reflection of the stress she was feeling at the time - I mean coming down to the last female picked for the show, against your best friend. Not a place I'd want to be in. Anyway, is it just me or did Katee have some weird expressions on her face during the judges talks last night? She performed well, but was looking strange. I didn't realize someone had gone to the ER! Not surprised though - they've really been working hard this week. Joshua has had some training (classes early on), but not a lot. He is such a cutie & seems to be a great guy. I really do like all 4 of them. I tell ya, some of the routines this year have been really fantastic - loved the pas de deu (sp) even though I really not into ballet. Love, love, love Tabitha & Napoleon's choreography this season!!! Such a nice change - there's actually a storyline to most of their hip hop stuff.

I dread 1st day back from vac for that reason & ssssooooo many more. :) Wading through tons & tons of emails is another.....

I acutually loved Twitch last night. Just pure emotion did it for me. Not a bad dancer either.

Oh good! I'm not the only one!! I hear ya about being a woodwind. It's a shame that those like us can't play in TBDBITL (the OSU Marching Band of course!). My boyfriend in college played in the OSU Marching Band...so I got a little taste of the life, but it would have been very cool to have been a part of the band!

DCI had a competition here in Columbus last week that I went to. It didn't have the greatest guards, but it was decent. I enjoy watching it, but I'm not obsessed like my friend Peter is. He so badly wants to be a judge, and I don't doubt that he could be!

Ahh...yes those were the days! I love and appreciate all my HS memories around band. One of the highlights was getting to go to WDW and march in a MK parade! Another was to compete on the artifical turf (at the time) of the OSU Horseshoe. Those were the days! *sigh*

It's a date!

DH and I are also bringing the MOST FUN CARD GAME EVER (maybe Brandie knows this one?) called The Great Dalmuti. If you can't find us at the adult pool, fruity drink in hand, we will likely be somewhere playing a game. Err, fruity drink in hand.

Sure that's all I need is for her to find a new game!!!!!!!

Will just have to drink more PATRON:scared1:

Great pics Kimberly.

Very much so....As I explained once before all cameras have the same guts....What you are paying for are the extra features...and yes B&H carries a huge variety of cameras....I only shoot with a NIKON but this is a SLR Professional camera....my entire family shoots with the CASIO EXILIM which can be found under 250.00 for sure

Any questons let me know

Amy & Dave: welcome back and happy reading. :) we have been very chatty lately.

I would love to parasail, but dh says no way. I dont think my oldeset is big enough..she is 10 almost 80lbs. not sure she would do it anyway.

I am packing extra dry erase markers in case anyones get feet and walk away. ;) Just leave a note on our door...and the girls can be our messengers.

My boys are going to parasail (17 and 12). They are SO excited about it. I don't have any desire to do that, though..... :confused3

I'm not Videoman, but I have an awesome digital camera. It's an Olympus 1030 SW, and I can take it underwater (up to 33 feet). It's shockproof (can be dropped from 6 1/2 feet) and crushproof (up to 250 lbs). Mine was about $400, but the model just below mine (850 SW) is about $250 and is waterproof to 10 feet. The 1030 takes awesome pictures, and I LOVE it. I can post my photo blog if you'd like to see those. It's so nice to not worry if I drop it or if it gets wet - or even drops in the water. :)

I am a band geek, too, but I didn't play an instrument. I was on the Rifle squad. I can still feel the excitement of a Friday night show - and getting up the next morning to be at a competition hours away. :) Fun times those were.

We did that, too!!!!!!!!!!!!! We were in the Tencennial (1982) parade. Such a great memory, and I'm SO glad it was Disney. :)

Kimberly, I'll take a photo of our frame matte tonight and I'll look to see what tip we used. We put several bright colors in with the matte and also marked on the back to indicate where the frame would be so that none of the signatures would get cut off. Ours came out fabulous - way better than we imagined and one of our most treasured souvenirs!

Kimberly ~ We used the ultra fine sharpies in black on a white mat. I had my mat signed hortizonatially and Jen had hers signed vertically. I put the mat, the sharpies and my name and cabin number in a gallon zip lock bag and gave it to guest services. The bags appeared in our room on the last night of the cruise.

Kimberly: I :lovestruc the Budweiser Clydesdales.

Ok, running off to another meeting.
