How do I get tickets for Tea with a character for the grandgirls

on the first day go to the guest services desk and request tickets. on our cruise last year there were so many requests they added more days. it is cold tea. ( not hot, but it is served in a teapot). and a cookie. ours was at Studio Sea, dont remember the day.

Question of the Week
Other than DISNEY where do you most like to go on vacation?

Well, Disney is really the only place that we've repeated a lot.

I enjoy going to NYC for long weekends and shows. And we go to my parent's lakehouse every once in a while.

Our list of things we plan to do in the future:

Germany: Fairytale Road, Castles & Alps (for ME)

American West: Grand Canyon, Yellowstone, etc (for James)

:scared1: :scared1: :scared1: WHAT THE HECK ARE YOU LUNATICS TALKING ABOUT?!?!?!:scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

Erik, I have to agree with you on this one!!! Every vacation has to have a Disney aspect to it at least a little...like maybe a trip to visit Walt's hometown or even just visiting a Disney Store. When my family drove across the country three summers ago, we hit DL, a Disney Store and WDW! That was my kind of vacation!

Can't wait for a month from today! Not only will we be getting on the cruise, I won't be sitting here at work!!!! :thumbsup2

Another quick question:

First time for an inside room......how are the beds set up?

Another quick question:

First time for an inside room......how are the beds set up?

Ask the room steward to set up the two twins or the queen. They know the number of people supposed to be in the room (because they're room ninjas! ) so they'll set up the sofa bed and drop down bed if needed.

Basically, just talk to your room ninja... err, room steward. :)

Congrats Katie and Drea on the upgrades! It's good to see some of us getting the pixie dust!!

funny how they are called different things around the world. In PA when I go for canal days on the chesapeak. they are called PITA (Pain in the _ _ _) as they are side by side with a larger straw in the middle with a shot of rum in it

And all this time I thought that you could only get those at a tiny little hole in the wall tiki hut somewhere in the keys next to a Howard Johnson's with a pink roof. Huh. :confused3

Miami Vice? I've never heard of that one either!
Who's buying the novice a drink?:rotfl2:

Remember is always 5 o'clock somewhere... a wise wondeful man once said:hug:
Now that....that, I know:thumbsup2

For those that have gotten theirs, is it just a regular size envelope with a UPS label? Is it in one of those UPS letter things?
Mine came in a white bubble envelope. Very plain. Still don't have the non-group-rate half of the docs yet.

Another quick question:

First time for an inside room......how are the beds set up?

Do you mean where in the room are they? In an 11 and 12 (not sure about the 10) when you walk into the room first you reach the sitting area, the bed is near the far wall. I've seen pictures of it with the headboard on the same wall as the couch (bed parallel to the entry door) and in out Cat 11 our bed's headboard was up against the back wall (perpendicular to the door).
In higher categories (those with portholes or verandah doors), the bed is closer to the entry door and the sitting area is near the porthole/verandah.
Not sure if that'/s what you were asking but there it is anyway! ;)

QUESTION:
Okay guys I was thinking again about our group picture we were thinking of doing Thursday in the morning around 9:30-10...just wanted to remind everybody that for some of us, that will be character breakfast morning. Those of us with latest seating (8:30) I'm guessing will not be done with breakfast by 9:30. So we may need to schedule it just a tad later. I think the 10 should work well...still a 1/2 hr before the first Palo Brunch time. Should be late enough for those of us on 8:30 CB (hopefully me, if I get the rotation I want). Of those who have done CB onboard before, how long does it last (remember it is not Island Jam anymore they changed it back a traditional CB where the characters visit the tables)??? Would 1 1/2 hrs be enough time alotted for it?

I just booked my resort early last week or maybe the week before and I got my resort docs last saturday :confused3

When you say you got resort docs last Saturday, are you referring to Magical Express transfers and luggage tags or did you get something from the actual resort? If the later, then I am getting nervous because we booked the Polynesian months ago and I never received anything from them other than my email confirmation from the travel Agent.

Favorite place to vacation other than Disney:

Me: Rome, anywhere in Italy, really.
dd Sadie: China (but would choose to go to India if she could)
ds: Hilton Head
dd Madalyn: no idea what I was talking about. Her answer was "Princess Castle"
ds Alex: nowhere, has only been to Disney

Studio 450 sq feet with kitchen for $135 a nite for a week in end of March.

Anyone ever stay here? It got good reviews.

24 hour cancellation policy so I can think about it.
Just wanted to lock in place during IL spring break.

I didn't stay here but was in Anaheim in July and stayed at the Sheraton...it was beautiful. But all the hotels in that area seemed to be really really nice.

I AM SO NOT GONNA GET IT ALL DONE!:scared1: I NEED this vacation:scared:

Hmmmm--a question--well, first I think people should keep the packing tips comming as they think of them;)--okay--Question of the Week
Other than DISNEY where do you most like to go on vacation?

You have a ton going, Hadley!!! Sounds like my life. Bwahahahahaa ... and some people believe that homeschoolers are hermits and unsocialized!!!:rotfl: :lmao:

Favorite places to vacation ...

First, I agree with Erik. There's no place like Disney. That's our big vacation. However, if we have to choose..

Jared - Panama City Beach
Jonah - has no idea, only remembers Disney (and he's 12  )
Jaydin - too young to care
Mark - I will have to let you know
Me - Calgary/Banff in Alberta, Canada. Absolutely beautiful and I'd go back any time - as long as it didn't interfere with my WDW triips. :)

FISH EXTENDER LIST (YES another update!0) :lmao:

Hey all... made some changes to the F/E list! They are now in numeric order. Lois made that suggestion and i have to say GREAT IDEA. Will be much easier to drop off. (If anyone wants it another way.. email me and I can send you the spreadsheet that you can alter however you like :)

For those of you who have been to HI......what can you tell me about going to Pearl Harbor and can you visit Wickham Field and see the area that was hit? Any other info. (where to stay, time of year to go, etc.) would be good also. DH wants to do this for his retirement gift to himself!! Retires Sep. 5:scared1:
OH man I did HI when I was senior in High school. AWESOME. Pearl Harbor was GREAT. I had tears then and no big ties to the military. I can only imagine what it would be like now. Im thinking this might be our next vacation.

Okay...thanks ladies.:thumbsup2 For some reason I have visions of 2 sets of bunk beds in an inside room:laughing:
I am starting to feel the no window pressure already.....silly I know :headache: :headache: :headache:

I can't get my on-line cruise doc information to load either.....I have dial-up and it is sooooo slow, I keep getting timed out. Time to hit the local library to do this. I know it doesn't need done on-line, but I would feel better if it was. Can't get the mulit quote to work right either.

Boy, this site is really eating up my time....can't get anything else done it seems. Glad I am retired....I would be going through DIS withdrawal if I still worked.

Okay, catch you all later....off to the doctor for better sinus infection meds......

One more post before I hang up.......

TIP: Take money with you on CC to buy a stamp at the post office to mail yourself a post card......great for you scrapbookers.

Diane, I hope you feel better! I hate sinus infections!!!!

Here is my DBF's answer for the question of the week:

Besides WDW? Hmm…..I would like to see some more of the US. Of the places I have been I enjoy the Wildwood shore on occasion so I guess that would be my answer.

I wish I were on the boat (well at least at the terminal) right now!

DO'IN THE DOC DANCE SINCE LAST EVENING!!!!

Congrats!!!!!:cool1: Now WHERE is that guy in brown???????

:scared1: :scared1: :scared1: WHAT THE HECK ARE YOU LUNATICS TALKING ABOUT?!?!?!:scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

Vacation "other than Disney"?!? What is that? Is there such a thing as a vacation that doesn't include or connect to Disney in some way?! I want to come out right now as being vehemently morally opposed to such a thing!!!
(and I can assure you that Jason feels the same way!!)

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Agree!!! :thumbsup2

One month from today we board the Magic!!!!!

YIPPEE!!!!!!!! Can't wait!

QOTW: As pretty much everyone here, Disney would be my first answer but since I'm supposed to chose "other" than Disney, I have a couple of places:

NY - short day or weekend visits
Canada - one of the best vacations the boys always talked about was when we did Niagara Falls and then went up to Toronto.
Vegas - Always good for some fun!!!

It is so much fun catching up and reading what everyone has been up to since I haven't been on in weeks!!!! I still have not gotten my docs. I thought since I now live in Florida I would be one of the first - but not true. Glad docs are arriving - YEAH! I cannot believe one month from today. I think everyone sounds ready. It was fun watching the Magic go through the Panama and thinking that our cruise is coming up. :yay: :yay: Didn't get a chance to read ALL the pages, but hope everyone is doing well and looking forward to seeing everyone really soon.

Hadley - I forgot to answer your great question. My other vacation would be

Me: Boston
Darrell: Park City, Utah (unless it is during the Fall - then anywhere USC Football is)
Abby: Boston too!!!

But Disney is the best and so is the cruise!

Did you book a package with tickets or the dining plan? If you did you should be expecting something in the mail. If you just booked a room only deal you will not be getting anything in the mail from Disney like a confirmation they just send out e-mail confirmations now.

Carry On.

OK who is bringing the bottle of Rum to the DIS meet in Promenade Lounge to top off all of our Miami Vices.

Be careful when you get one. You may be paying for a souvenir glass.

I am self proclaiming the Miami Vice as the official first DIS meet Drink.
