Well if this storm heads on the path that its being predicted, my family and I will be leaving the area sometime Sunday morning. I'm not looking forward to this, while we didn't have any damage after Katrina it was a very tense time. I'm just not sure that right now I'm emotionally ready to handle all of this again.

I'm sorry. I hope that it saves you the stress and just heads my way. We could still use the rain.

Hugs and prayers for you.

I'm starting to call family and friends to find out where they are evacuating to and when they're heading out, and Gustav is still at least 5 days out!

 I am doing the happy dance, nope no documents yet. but I did just order myself new carryon luggage. :) I found a company that sells VB luggage 40% off rather than the 25% off sale price. They have free shipping and monogramming too.

Great! I just spent $250 on a new VB carryon, 2 purses and 1 wristlet. Now you tell me! I did get the new latte print, it goes with so much!

We are staying at Caribbean Beach Resort on Thursday and Friday night. Question: Are there any nice sit down restaurants nearby that DH and I should try? Looking for a unique dining experience. Also, has anyone used the Resort Child care services before?

I haven't eaten at Shutters in a long time it seems to get so so reviews. I would consider taking a cab to one of the other resorts to eat at. Maybe Boma at AKL, Ohana or Kona at the Poly, Whispering Canyon Cafe at the WL.

I second the recommendation for Boma. One of our favorite places!!! Yummy.

Hmmmm--a question--well, first I think people should keep the packing tips comming as they think of them;)--okay--Question of the Week
Other than DISNEY where do you most like to go on vacation?

That's hard, because people usually end up visiting us so they can go to the parks :rotfl:

We generally cruise once a year, but I can't include that since it's always on Disney. Buuuuut......we did take our first ever ski vacation early this year and plan on doing it again in February, does that count?

If you are willing to take transportation to DTD, I would highly reccomend Raglan Road. It's an Irish Pub style place, and they have awesome food (including bread with guiness dipping sauce, which is like liquid crack) AND I think they have a band most nights. Or at least on weekend. AND Irish dancers. I love that place. :thumbsup2

Get in the cruise mood... go to Ohana's. It's tropical and you'll feel like you're already in the islands. Plus, the food is good, good prices and it's easy to get to. Take the resort bus to MK, hop on the Monorail to the Poly. Ask for a quite table, if you get lucky, something by the windows and you can watch the fireworks!

FISH EXTENDER LIST (YES another update!0) :lmao:

Hey all... made some changes to the F/E list! They are now in numeric order. !
Thanks for continuing to keep the list updated! I've printed off the past three updated copies, so now I'm going to WAIT until we get closer to the cruise to print off any more! :rotfl2:

DO'IN THE DOC DANCE SINCE LAST EVENING!!!!
Yay!:thumbsup2 We're still waiting....

So QOTW - our favourite places are Fiji -sand, no surf, peace & quiet. The kids get to swim all day & I get to read, Gold Coast of Australia - no peace & quiet here though (they are our winter destinations) and any of our own east coast beaches in the summer.

Tania
I'm still planning to email you Tania about a family trip to NZ and pick your brain for some advice...just haven't done it yet :) Thanks again for offering to help!

Good morning all.......:surfweb:

Vacation ~ Anywhere on a cruise!!!!!
Tombstone and Tuscon, Arizona
Magic Kingdom

For those of you who have been to HI......what can you tell me about going to Pearl Harbor and can you visit Wickham Field and see the area that was hit? Any other info. (where to stay, time of year to go, etc.) would be good also. DH wants to do this for his retirement gift to himself!! Retires Sep. 5:scared1:
We always visit Maui, so I can't help there. Sorry!

Okay, catch you all later....off to the doctor for better sinus infection meds......
Hope you feel better!!

Amy: just think one day closer...sigh
I don't have any VB pieces, but I love the pink & green stuff! Such cute shades of pink & green together....
So we have a new exhibit in the science center where I work that is a working honey-comb filled with probably thousands of bees. Thankfully it is full encased because I am allergic to bee stings, but they are really cool to watch! I saw one bee carrying another bee that looked like it was dead...then I was told that it was the funeral bee carrying the dead bee out of the hive!

My day is getting better, but I wish it were over. I'm ready to relax!
Glad your day is going better! A local apple orchard has a bee hive that's made out of plexiglass on all sides except one, which is the exterior wall of the Apple House (an education room/gift shop). It's really cool to see the bees at work inside the huge floor-to-ceiling plexiglass wall.

Because I just can't go back through the six pages of posts I missed!!!!

Who got the upgraded rooms? That rocks for you!!! Love it when the upgrades actually happen to someone I know (well, love it MORE when it happens to me, but I'll share in your joy if it ain't gonna happen to me!)..

Boy, this site is really eating up my time....can't get anything else done it seems. Glad I am retired....I would be going through DIS withdrawal if I still worked.

Okay, catch you all later....off to the doctor for better sinus infection meds......[/COLOR]

oh believe me ... those of us that work are having withdrawls hence why we are on lol

hope ya feel better!

OK who is bringing the bottle of Rum to the DIS meet in Promenade Lounge to top off all of our Miami Vices.

Be careful when you get one. You may be paying for a souvenir glass.

I am self proclaiming the Miami Vice as the official first DIS meet Drink.
:rolleyes1 (like how you snuck in the promenade lounge too LOL)
Im up for a miami vice.. as long as it has a purdy umbrella in it LOL

Outside of the parks my vote would be for Boma at AKL. Lots of people really like Kona Cafe at the Poly as well. If'n you were to change your mind on a character meal I love the Crystal Palace breakfast with Pooh and friends.
