Just posting to bump us back up to page one!!!

Hope everyone is doing well! :)

Hidy Ho gang!

Hope you all are doing well...sadly I don't find myself on the dis much anymore since I don't have any intensive planning to do. I know I have a trip report to finish (which I will eventually)...:rolleyes1;)

It's competition weekend for us too (dance)...only we are going to Lakeland...let me tell you..NOT as exciting as BC! ;)

Thank goodness I am off tonight. I don't know why Thursday nights and Friday nights are so wacky at work. Every week someting else nutty happens. It's like a full moon every week. :rotfl:

We've been trying to plan Sarah's first birthday party. I know one thing, I am not having it at my house...I seriously have not recovered from Christmas when all of the neices and nephews got into our games in the closet and spread all the Sorry, Trouble, Elephun, Candy Land, Chutes & Ladders, etc. (you get the idea) pieces all over the place. I am over all the usual suspect ideas (the park, Chuck E Cheese, the inflatable places...) and need to come up with something good. Let me know if ya'll have any ideas!

Well, I'm off to stock a caboodle with fake eyelashes (so my favorite part of competitions. I must say if you have never tried applying those to a wiggly whiny 7 or 8 year old, you are so missing out! LOL!):rotfl2:

Have a terrific weekend, everyone!

I got a new Honda Odyssey :banana::banana::banana::banana:
congrats! :cool1:

OMG she's gonna be 1 already where did the time go? What about having the party at local park and getting a bounce house . Most will go to a park... at least in So Cal.

I didn't find myself on much, either, until we booked the next cruise.

Have a great time at the competition ... and I will pass on the fake eyelashes. I hope my dd doesn't want to dance or do cheerleading ...... I just can't do that girly-girl stuff!!!

Sounds like you have family like some on my mom's side. Wow. Is there a local meeting room that you could use? One that might be easy to get to and easy to clean up? We used a big room in our church for Jaydin's first birthday. We set up an area for the little ones to play, and we had tables for the adults to sit and eat. We did the same thing for her 2nd, but added some craft tables to give the kids something to do. Let us know what you decide. Inquiring minds want to know!! :)

Wish Savannah luck for me at the competition! You'll have to post pictures when you get back.

I can't believe Sarah is going to be a year old already! Seems like just yesterday you were still pregnant! :)

Just wanted to let you know if you are looking for a new camera for your next cruise.... Just got a great deal on a Olympus Stylus 850 SW waterproof to 10 ft ....5ft shockproof....freezeproof to 14 degrees and its 8 mgp.... at Sam's Club
It was $158.68 + tx and you also got the floatable strap and a case and a coupon for 60 free 4x6 prints from Sam's Club. The camera alone was $100.00 more at Best Buy

Steve is back in the US- but it'll probably be another week 'til he gets home. He landed in Baltimore this afternoon. And this is end of tour, so no more deployments between now and when his contract is up next year unless there's a heinous military emergency.

It's a good camera, too. Both my boys have one. I have the 1030, and I LOVE it.

That's fantastic news, Julie!!!!! I'm so glad to hear it. Are you just so excited that you can't stand it??

Yes- but it's horrible because he's here, probably sitting in the Philly airport right now, but he won't be home for at least another week. :scared: It's nuts. Well, it'll be a week more or so. Thankfully he'll be in time for Easter, which in our church is the week after Western Easter, and services start at 11:00 PM Saturday and run until about 3:00 Am Sunday, so the extra adult help will be needed.

Yeah, I'm sure it is. I would go crazy knowing that.

That's awesome that he will be home in time for Easter!! I know you will just be so glad to have him home.

How are the kids?

Kids are fine. Alex is scheduled for surgery April 27th for reinsertion of ear tubes. He still has a moderate hearing loss without them, and has lost one so--
Also he'll probably have surgery this summer to close the hole behind his nose, so only three or four left for the palate after that.

We'll make sure to schedule it early in the summer as our surprise cruise (still haven't slipped up and blown it by telling the kids- they think we're going on the Carnival Glory) is earlier in September and we don't want any close calls this time.

Prayers for Alex, then. I hope all goes well for both of those surgeries - and that you have the nose one done early enough in the summer that you don't have to worry about it for the cruise. That was definitely cutting it close last year!!!

Good for you on not slipping. We talk about our upcoming every day, and I know I couldn't keep that from any of mine. Of course, one of mine won't be going with me this time, but I couldn't keep it from him, either! LOL! You still have quite a time to keep it, and I hope you're successful!!!!!
