Dor......I knew this would be right up your alley!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, he's always the deaf husband:happytv: , but it sounds like he was the drinking husband while he was in Vegas the past few days. Is there a D word for gambling?

Oooh my favorite cigars are on sale.

Rocky Patel Double Maduros.

Any other Cigar smokers???

And those cubans that you think you are going to get on the island?
They are not cubans with the exception perhaps if you goto the Habana House in Cozumel which is a sanctioned dealer.

I always find it humerous when there are a bunch of guys in the Quiet Cove commenting on how the cigars they are smoking are the best they have ever had. Sometimes they are actually good cigars (just not cubans) and sometimes they are basically AIR.

DH will occasionally smoke one (when he's around others who do). All his friends think I made him stop because I"m asthmatic.....the truth is if anything I tried to get him to smoke a pipe...I LOVE the smell of good pipe tobacco. Between my SIL and I we've gotten my BIL and DH some pretty good cigars. If he wants to smoke one do they have cutters and lighters on board or should I pack his? (I might send him out for an 'evening with the boys' as a surprise).

You caught me!!!!!!!
This is my drink....So if you see me walking around with a water bottle filled with a black liquid.......
it's my SAMBUCCA!!!!!

Captain Morgan & Beer????? Strange mix

They sell the Black in the Cove also...

We are in the islands maan.

Beer is for the cheerios at breakfast

They have cutters and matches in the Quiet Cove Cafe.
I recommend a lighter as wind and matches do not go well together.

They also sell single cigars on board in the duty free shop and the quiet cove cafe.

Tip: In the quiet cove cafe...Those tasty treats under glass. Included in your price of admission.

OHHHH will remember that....and will toss in the lighter he really likes (I should be able to go through security with it.....dang I totally didn't think about that one). But I could put in our checked luggage.

Okay... now panic! *** is this!!! Rats this popped up at 1:15!

1. A TROPICAL WAVE INTERACTING WITH AN UPPER-LEVEL TROUGH CONTINUES TO PRODUCE A LARGE AREA OF SHOWERS AND A FEW THUNDERSTORMS OVER THE LESSER ANTILLES. SIGNIFICANT DEVELOPMENT OF THIS SYSTEM DOES NOT APPEAR LIKELY DURING THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS AS IT MOVES SLOWLY WEST-NORTHWESTWARD...BUT LOCALLY HEAVY RAINS COULD CONTINUE OVER PORTIONS OF THE WINDWARD AND LEEWARD ISLANDS TODAY AND TOMORROW.
.

Ok thats not even funny - bad tropical disturbance - GO AWAY

******** insurance question***********
those of you that purchased it.. did you ensure your trip cost to WDW also? I did our cruise and the flight. Do I really need to add any other cost in?

You probably don't need insurance. We've hit hurricanes and storms in the past with DCL they take care of everything.

Hubby and I live outside the cove! We both drink like fishes and smoke cigars.

Hello everyone! I'm new to posting so bear with me.

My DH and I would love to join the Palo Friday 6:00pm dinner group if there are any spots open.

Reading all your posts this past week has really really really gotten me excited about this trip. Can't wait to meet all of you.

Welcome!! :cheer2:

We're in Flower Mound...how 'bout you? I'm glad I have an impulsive friend who takes her two boys there for the night, "just because" hubby is out of town :) She counted us as being in her room so we got wristbands when we went to the hotel this morning to meet them! We're actually going to spend a night there in November so we can take Daddy back to the waterpark. It was EMPTY and we had a blast!!

Does anyone have the late dinner seating? This is our first cruise with that seating and it has us a little concerned (DD-6 and DS-3). We are hoping to change it when we get onboard. Just in case we can not, are there any benefits to late seating with kids? We would like to have dinner with them at least on formal night and pirate night.

Welcome!
I wouldn't do early seating if they prodded me there with a hot poker.
Of course, at home we usually eat at 8:30-9:00 on a daily basis due to the kids' activities during the week anyway.
Things I like about it are
1. No rush from ports
2. early shows are less crowded, and kids may be more attentive.
(here's a tip, grab snacks from the food counters and bring to the show!)
3. 6:00 = dead pools...not a ripple in 'em if you are so inclined
4. late seating is less populated so I deduce that service is probably smoother too
5. due to there being less demand, we've always been granted our requests for rotation and table (table to ourselves).

One thing to keep in mind is we had issues "grabbing" our kids food like before Palo..the counter areas close during dinner seatings (assume teh CM's who staff it are dinner servers and are busy elsewhere) and Topsiders is sit down service so it an be difficult to "grab" something quickly (as room service takes up to 30-45 mins). On one of our cruises we did not know this and were caught scrambling to get the kids *something* and get 'em in the club so we could go to Palo,we ended up just giving them chips from the toppings bar outside Pluto's (that's all that was around) and got 'em room service later.

Jen- I would take the warmer too. Good luck with it passing through security! Ill keep my fingers crossed
It'll make it. My iron always does, too.:rolleyes1

Kimberly hun...hugs to ya.

Drea, did they salvage your pics?? That is the worst, I am so terrified of that...ever since going digital.
(reminds me I haven't backed mine up in a while)

Have made zero progress on anything else cruise related. I am having formatting/software issues with the programs/templates I am trying to use to print out my FE lables...seriously need to get that straightened out, as I plan on assembling them at work (on lunch and break, of course;) )Only 5 more nights of work left.... I'm done personalizing my magnet designs but need to print all of 'em.

I can see that light at the end of the tunnel!
(It is barreling in like a freight train)

Okay - need to wrap this baby up and put it to bed...

SKOI and ELLIOT'S MOMMY!! I need stateroom numbers.

Anyone else that wants in - this is absolutely last call!!!

I need PMed to me:

Stateroom Number
DIS Name
Adults' Names
Children's names and ages
An EMAIL address to which I can send the map

I need this no later than 7am Eastern tomorrow.

Those of you who are leaving in the next day or two - PM me and I will print out extra copies and stick them in your F/E (since I will know where you stateroom is using my handy dandy treasure map LOL).

I AM SOOOOOOOO EXCITED!!

We are leaving on Wednesday and will be at the BWV. Morgan's birthday is on Friday - it's a biggie - she'll no longer be a child in Disney's eyes. LOL!!

I think that's it!!

See you real soon :cloud9:
Stella

Kimberly:
You'll be on vacation soon, relax! You will get it all done. And then you get the best reward ever. :thumbsup2

Newbies: welcome! :goodvibes

Let's not panic and start ordering hurricanes from the overlook bar. It's just a group of thunderstorms with a silly yellow circle and a 1 next to it. The weather channel probably asked for it... their tropical update has been slow all week. They have nothing to talk about... IMHO let's keep it that way.

:scared1:

Hi all!

Kimberly - Just do what you can and leave the rest! If you forget something for the trip I'm sure someone will have what you need!

Elliot's_Mommy - I hope Elliot feels better soon! Ear infections are no fun at all!

Welcome Dorothy and CIIA!

Grady had his second Dentist appointment today and had 3 more teeth pulled. The Dentist said that would be it for awhile! He was such a trooper and never complained about any of it! Doug and I gave him an IPod at his last appointment and I wasn't planning on getting him anything else, but I broke down and picked up a frog Webkin for him. I'm so weak! We actually had the IPod for him and we were going to have it in his travel bag in the car for the drive down as a surprise, but it seemed better to give it to him after his appointment. He loves it! He has wanted one for a long time.

I was also able to get the kids rolling garment bag with all their dinner clothing and accessories packed today! One down 3 or 4 more to go!

I'm going to finish Doug's Pirate costume tonight and all the Pirate night costumes will be done! Then my sewing projects are down to 3 items!

I hope everyone else is chugging along with their cruise prep too!

For those who are leaving in hours - Have a safe trip! We'll see you on the boat!

Have a great evening everyone!

Tiffany

Just had to throw this in...
If you have a non-reader child who needs some entertainment while you pack cruise stuff...

I found a website called ReadingEggs www.readingeggs.com the other day from a homeschool fried of mine. You can get a 14 day free trial, but Reese LOVES it! It has bought me good 20 minute chunks of time, and it's awesome! He's really motivated by the game-board set up and going level to level keeps him working while I'm working :)

If your child is already reading, it's probably too simple. But it's great for pre-readers/ beginning readers!

I had my dance class tonight and I found out that one of the girl's I have danced with in the past was held up at gun point last night and robbed of her money and her cell phone! :scared1: Her mom works at a gas station and her mom went into the building she stayed in the car. Two guys came over to the car with guns, forced her out of the car at gunpoint and forced her into the building. They held her, her mom and an employee at gunpoint for about 7 or 8 minutes.

I felt so badly for her she kept crying. It is so horrible. It only happened last night around 11:45 PM so it's still very fresh in her mind.

Hi Everyone!

I don't mean to interrupt your conversations, but I'd like to introduce myself. My name is Dorothy, and I'm a first-timer who is traveling with Anthony, my husband, and Juliana and Taylor, our 12-year-old twin daughters. I'm also traveling with Charlie (aka Videoman), which is how I found you all here. In fact, Charlie and Barbara have been fabulous to us; they have planned everything for us. I think the only thing we did on our own was get our passports! We wouldn't have a clue if it weren't for them. Having said that, I see that many of you have some interesting info and great advice to offer, too. We are all really excited, but I am getting nervous about the prep and packing as I am not the most organized person . . .

Anyway, all of you sound so fun and friendly. I am really looking forward to meeting all of you. I will be the one with the long, curly, (I think it will be more like frizzy there) red hair with a drink in her hand following Charlie and Barbara around the ship (or, Charlie, should I say to the bar?).

Looking forward to seeing you,
Dorothy

:cheer2: Welcome Aboard Dorothy & Family!!!! :cheer2:

We have a 12 year old girl traveling with us as well.. she is very friendly and very hyper.. and I'm sure she will find your grand daughters :rolleyes1
