Dorothy!!! It's so great to hear from you!! I knew your screen name looked familiar! We've come to love Charlie, too! So lucky for you, since you're associated to him, we will not hold it against you! :grouphug:

Don't hesitate to bother us too if we can help ease your worries! I'm thrilled we'll get to meet you as well! If you can, try to come to the DIS meets at 3:00 on Saturday!

Thanks so much, Kimberly! (I think I am finally figuring out how to reply to specific posts.) Well, I am glad that you won't hold it against me that I'm associated with Charlie; some people would. :lmao: Conversely, I wouldn't want you to hold it against him, either, that he's with me.

I will definitely try to come to the DIS meets at 3 on Sat! Like I said, I'll be following Charlie!
Dorothy

Hi Shell. I'm a bit slow, but I am noticing that people are using initials for their kids' names . . . I'm thinking I should have done the same. I see you have a 12 year old, too. And, like me, you're traveling w/a large group. This does sound like an awesome group. Charlie has been telling me so. I'm glad I finally got on here.:yay:
Dorothy

Oh, sorry. DS = dear son DD = dear daughter. I have one son that's 17, one son that's 12, and one daughter that's 3. DH = dear (sometimes :) ) husband

I'm glad you're here, too!

OK, just one more example of how new this stuff is to me. Oddly enough, I knew that DH=dear husband. I'm not sure why the rest didn't click with the kids???:confused3 And I know what you mean about the sometimes and the husband.

I have the Palo room for dinner on Friday night at 6pm. A nice way to end our cruise. I have 15 seats.

TVEPFOX takes 2.

The Panman Man, 2goofy2luv, Magic3forme & jjgarv expressed an interest through pm's. I'm sure there are more of you. Help me figure this out... how to hand out the other 13 seats?!

COOOL....we'll be coming in as you guys finish up.

Hi Everyone!

I don't mean to interrupt your conversations, but I'd like to introduce myself. My name is Dorothy, and I'm a first-timer who is traveling with Anthony, my husband, and Juliana and Taylor, our 12-year-old twin daughters. I'm also traveling with Charlie (aka Videoman), which is how I found you all here. In fact, Charlie and Barbara have been fabulous to us; they have planned everything for us. I think the only thing we did on our own was get our passports! We wouldn't have a clue if it weren't for them. Having said that, I see that many of you have some interesting info and great advice to offer, too. We are all really excited, but I am getting nervous about the prep and packing as I am not the most organized person . . .

Anyway, all of you sound so fun and friendly. I am really looking forward to meeting all of you. I will be the one with the long, curly, (I think it will be more like frizzy there) red hair with a drink in her hand following Charlie and Barbara around the ship (or, Charlie, should I say to the bar?).

Looking forward to seeing you,
Dorothy

WELCOME WELCOME WELCOME we are all going to have so much fun.

Okay....I admit it. I just broke down in tears. I am now SOOOOO stressed. I have all this stuff I want/need to get done for work before I'm gone 2 weeks, I need the daylight hours to be home pulling together the last things, and now I need to dedicate time to empty a full freezer and take the hundreds of pounds and dollars worth of food upstairs and out........UGH. Oh yea! Don't forget the most important thing...I need to get a pedi tonight! Seriously. Crying. I have so little feet to stand on complaining, I know. It could be so much worse, I know.

I just told my manager's administrative assistant about the new ETA and all the stresses I feel right now. (That's when I broke down in tears...although they've barely stopped.) You know what she said so innocently? "Well can't you just work from home to get some stuff done that you need daylight hours?" :rotfl2: OMG we laughed so hard. It's just so natural to say "just work from home", she didn't think a thing of it!

Ok...remember tha tthis has been very traumatic for you and that you were not prepared for this to happen. It doesn't make it any better but you are justified in your stress. Take a deep breath and try to relax (hard I know). You will be able to do what you can do.....you can just throw a few cloths in a bag...everything else will be avaliable on the ship I'm sure (including laundry services). Just pull the food out of the freezer and do a general wipe down then when you get back clean it really well. Can you talk to your boss about asking someone else to help you with things at work? Trust me I understand. I'm working on finishing things up as well and have to be out today and tomorrow with a sick little one.

I am in the same boat - I didn't realize what a good deal I got for booking onboard last year until I looked at how much to upgrade - lets just say it would cost me $500 to go from my cat 9 to a 12! :scared1:

:lmao:

Welcome, Dorothy - you have joined the best group I have ever cruised with :grouphug:

So the cruise daydreaming has set in - one week from today we will be making the final preparations to leave at the crack of dawn on Friday :cheer2: I think it should be illegal to make you work one week before vacation :lmao:

I can't leave at the crack of dawn...*sigh* I'll be in a meeting until 5 next Friday.

elliott update. 2 antibiotic shots this morning (now he thinks his legs are broken and won't bend them), the reg. pcp couldn't even see in his ear so we see a specialist tomorrow.

First drink on the boat....what did Charlie call it....a 'Tropical Depression' (though I'm wondering if its one of those pesky hurricane things). Actually am looking at a stone message but the avaliable ones are either during our meal times or during the Dis meet.

Hey that was me talking about the Kick A$$ drink Tropical Depression.

Unless Charlie mentioned it before....Great minds do think alike.

Charlie can I borrow your camera the my anniversary night? :rolleyes1 :rolleyes1
Will not need that many minutes of film or battery power.:yay: :yay:

Dorothy,
I forgot to say that I'm a twin! I have an identical twin sister...she already had her cruise for the year so she's staying home and working like I did when she went on hers! :)

Hello everyone! I'm new to posting so bear with me.

Any more takers for the Palo Room on Friday at 6pm?

My DH and I would love to join the Palo Friday 6:00pm dinner group if there are any spots open.

Reading all your posts this past week has really really really gotten me excited about this trip. Can't wait to meet all of you.

I just hope that doesn't work the other way too....DW..... ;)

Hey that was me talking about the Kick A$$ drink Tropical Depression.

I'm going to have a serious case of Tropical Depression if that thing starts to look bad! All we need to do is get TO the boat, once we're on we'll be fine, it's just the getting there I'm worried about!

(I hope I am doing this right . . . attempting to reply to Nemontinksmom.)

I'm sure my girls will be in the club. My girls can be a bit shy, depending on the situation (like Mom), but I am sure they would love to meet DD (not to mention ladies man DS) and maybe they will all go in together. It is easier for my girls being twins to do new things together. My girls would probably be shy to enter an already established group, but I think they would be very welcoming and friendly toward DD because they're all in the same boat.:rotfl:

Dorothy

Dorothy and Nemontinksmom: seems we have a gaggle of 12 tweens
...We are a family of 4: DM 44, DH 45, DD 12, DS 10. Our daughter is not too shy, loved the club last visit when she was 8, actually like getting away from us and joining in activities that were more appropriate for her interest...seems haning by the pool with a fluffy drink was not her idea of vacation...that is why we are back ...got to love DISNEY...something for everyone

Does anyone have the late dinner seating? This is our first cruise with that seating and it has us a little concerned (DD-6 and DS-3). We are hoping to change it when we get onboard. Just in case we can not, are there any benefits to late seating with kids? We would like to have dinner with them at least on formal night and pirate night.

OHHHh sorry....Remember...no sleep on my end....but trust me..whoevern mentioned it, there will be one in my immediate future at this point. Maybe several. I'll have to see how far our room is from the bar.

We have late seating. I have 3 kids, and one is 3. I could have worked to get mine changed long ago, but decided that I liked the late seating. We can take our time when we're at the other ports. If my kids get hungry, we can order room service or find a snack. We stay up late, though, and don't mind eating late.
