So I go to pack today...start putting the various "piles" into the suitcases, and then I lost track of what I packed. :lmao: anyone else do this?

I would keep packing, but my kids are still wearing half the clothes I am going to pack them for vacation.

this is why i can't pack too far ahead of time. i take way more than we need because i forget. normally it isn't an issue but now spirit charges for bags.

I can't believe how close we are now!!! I can't wait!

Two things come to mind:

I read somewhere on here it is a good idea to bring a large photo envelope to put any pictures from Shutters in so they do not get ruined on the way home.
I plan on putting my magnets in them for the trip there so they do not get bent or ruined too!

As far as the group picture is concerned, I think the idea is great to have it done at the first DIS meet, however, From what other seasoned cruisers have said, we will probably not be able to get a photographer from shutters then as they will probably still be busy with people boarding......

So then I thought maybe I should email DU to see if they could arrange something ahead of time?

Input anyone?

Thanks,
Crissi

Still, No High Tea... No Brunch... No Party room and No way to get 9 adults in for a dinner together to celebrate the 2 Birthdays or the 1st time cruisers with us... :sad1:

This cruise is really bumming me out.. :guilty:

Okay, I have changed my list from a to do list to a MUST DO list. It is hopefully going to be much easier to follow and I recommend it to all of you as well. I was far too stressing yesterday so last night when I was saying my prayers I felt a peace and this came to me instead.

MUST DO LIST
Live
Breathe
Pack
Leave
ENJOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nothing else really matters does it?
That's the right attititude!! You go!!!:goodvibes

Well prayer buddies...I need some right now....DS4 has a raging ear infection (18 months into tubes no less) and I was called at the office today to come get him (out of a very important meeting. ?
Oh goodness...I hope the meds start working their magic soon :wizard: and he gets better quickly!!!

Kimberly, I am going to kiss you!!! :flower3: I got home to see if I'd had a response to my Residence Inn post and saw your post about Palo. I figured it was too late to get it, especially since my computer at home is slower than Christmas, and it locked up on me, so I had to re-boot it (and almost booted it to the street), but I GOT IT!!! :cheer2: And the date and time are perfect for us. :thumbsup2 So we won't be waiting in line to get on a waiting list. Bring on the DOTD!! I may start celebrating tonight! You rock! :worship:

Leslie

:woohoo: :yay: :woohoo: :yay: :dance3: :yay: :woohoo: :yay: :woohoo:

Stacy,

What is the max on the party room? There are 6 of us that would like to do dinner at Palo............Could we combine our groups or is the room already taken for dinner too? Just a thought.

OH NO!! Don't get bummed out! I know that Palo can be a highlight, but there's no reason you can't have a Fabulous cruise without it. AND, you can meet me in Rockin' Bar D upon arrival if you'd like. Hopefully we can get someone to be a drink runner! :thumbsup2
All will turn out ok!

Also:

Kimberly: Sorry about the power! That stinks. We also buy a lot of food in bulk, so I would be feeling the same way in that predicament.

In packing news:

I have packed Most of my clothes. Each outfit in an individual baggy. Except, I can't pack my jeans until I do some laundry.
I have started packing for James, and I put some clothes in a separate part of his closet and expressly told him that he was Not Allowed to Wear Those Clothes.
I was supposed to pick up my formal gown from the tailor today (the zipper had broken) but I got there too late and they were closed. :headache: I guess I'll have to go tomorrow.
I did go to Target last night to look for new swim trunks for James. No dice. Just new season clothes (unless you're an XXL, in which case, you can get Really cheap swim trunks). I did buy a hanging shoe thing, some suction hooks and a corkscrew (just in case). I'm not sure what else I need....

All of this on top of having ripped out all the walls and flooring in our basement this weekend. :scared: And having an electrician come next week to redo the lighting down there.

AND, it's my birthday Thursday and we're going to dinner, Friday we are going to a cooking class, Saturday night we're going to a Comedy Club and bars with all my friends, and Sunday I'm going to a wine festival with the girls.

If that wasn't all, I have a Photo shoot for the Caps Squad on Sat, the opening video shoot on Monday and our first pre-season the Thursday before we leave!!

And, of course, I can't miss the Florida vs Tenn game on Saturday afternoon.

All of those are very good things, and I'm so excited about the weeks to come. :goodvibes

I don't know.. all I know is the Minimum was 12.. but when we had 11 adults we were told Yes, now that 2 can't go, they called back and said sorry, we can't have it now..

I have been busy BUSY so I have only scanned and may be missing responding to someone--sorry if I miss you:flower3:

First, Kimberly, Jen and other Ohioans-- What a storm! I hope you all haev power again soon. Kimberly your stories remind me of when hte east coast grid went down and knoecked out power from NYC to Detroit. We were in Detroit and lost both power and water (appearently there was no back up power supply for the Detroit water plant:confused3 ) for what I am remembering now as 6 days. It was in the HEAT if the summer. Like you we pulled together with the neighbors. After radio reporst made it clear we were looking at a few days without power at the least we pulled all the grills on the block into my backyard and everyoen brought out whatever was in the fridge that would spoil and we had a big old BBQ (and did it again with different peopole's freezer items the next 2 days). Ann Arbor got power back on day 3 and we then left to stay with a friend up there.

Elliot's Mommy--you and our little guy get a hug also:hug: I hope he feels great by trip time.

TVEPFOX--:cheer2: LOVE those lovely photos:upsidedow

Okay--this is totally off topic and nothing more than a proud mommy brag so ignore it if you want to:
Marika is now a BLACK BELT CANDIDATE (big deal, passed a big test, not as big of a deal as the black belt will be, but pretty significant none the less). I am so proud of her. I think maybe we should take a cruise to celebrate:rolleyes:

Oh yeah and :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: 52 hours and counting:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

THAT'S MY GIRL!!!! Now you'll be much happier :goodvibes !

Well prayer buddies...I need some right now....DS4 has a raging ear infection (18 months into tubes no less) and I was called at the office today to come get him (out of a very important meeting. Thank goodness my boss looked at my face and said 'go call me on my cell when you find out what is going on'. ) He's been tugging at his ear and running a temp. We took him to the doc yesterday and he's on antibiotics but the last ear infection like this at the beginning of summer, the doc put him on Sulfur drugs for 3 weeks.......sulfur = no sun.....and we are leaving for a cruise in 11 days......I mean I know I do math all day but help me...3 weeks antibiotics =21 days....ummmmm this could be bad.....but I'll deal with it if that's what happens (if he isn't better by tomorrow this is the route we have to go again). Charlie, what time are we all meeting at the bar? Can I get a drink in the terminal...heck the airport and bring it with me onboard?

I got you covered. No matter what, we're the ship of sick kids and bad weather magnets (and that's just my family). Maybe we'll get quarantined and have stay out longer.

They can't do anything besides the sulfur? There has got to be another solution.

Julie

Hmmm...I HATE ear infections! I've had too many in my lifetime! Did you take him to the doctor yet? If you didn't, mention to the doctor about the cruise. Maybe there is another antibiotic that the doctor can put him on that won't make him stay out of the sun. I hope he feels better soon!

I will be praying for poor little Elliott to get better soon. I too have had many ear infections in my life. Still have to use ear plugs to swim or I get one again. If you have not asked the doctor yet, find out about the Zpak. Zithromycin (sp?) Anyway, it is the one you take for 5 days but it works for 10 in your body. You take 2 the first day and then 1 the next four days. So easy to work with. Not a million times a day to remember, no refrigration, etc. The sulfur drugs never worked well on me.:wizard:

I just wanted to give everyone the BEST cruise I could.. Especially since I am the one that put most of it together.. and we Always talk about Palo when we come back from our cruises, so of course, they ALL expected to go.. :guilty:

I was on That!!!

I just took my last Zpak pill today!! Now I get eardrops for the next few days but I have wax for my ears for when we go snorkling..

I know how you feel. I'm usually the one who does this for everyone on our trips, and they've come to expect seamless, flawless everything. This year, I haven't done a thing since we weren't sure we were going until a week ago.

Is the room taken, or is that you just don't have enough people right now? If you can add more, and don't mind non-family,I'm sure you'll find takers.

Julie

Go to Rockin Bar D when you get on board to see if you can get ressies! I will keepmy fingers crossed for you! I am going to see if I can grap a brunch spot. Don't give up hope until you get off the ship and still haven't be able to arrange it. Lois

I am going to call tomorrow to see if the room is available at all during our cruise or not.. I have a feeling they gave it away when they saw we were at 9 adults instead of 11, because why else would they call us and say No, after they told us Yes.. If they didn't need the room, I'm sure they would of let us keep it..

Thanks.. That is where I'm going as soon as I get on the ship.. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you too..

I don't know how to do it myself, but could we add the links to the outside excursions somehow on Post #1?

I know there is the dolphin one and the beach break one in Cozumel, we are doing Nativeway in Grand Cayman and they are http://www.nativewaywatersports.com/

I am going by into searching for the beach break one again. Trying to go back in the thread and find it.
Thanks.

I know the feeling of ear pain. Last year I had a raging ear infection. the ER doc even said wow, that is bad. ( I was on a medicine that depleted my immune system. I got the ear infection in 8 hrs time) I was given steroids, amoxicillin, then a zpack. the thing that helped the most was Clarinex. it helped dry out my ear. so hugs....!! and hope everyone feels better soon.

Who else will be at the Residence Inn on the 26th? I got a special week-end rate code from Marriott today. When I went to check the reservation I made in February, it didn't mention the free parking or the $6 shuttle to the port. Does anyone know if this is still being offered? I guess I could call, but you guys probably knew before they did if it changed!! :confused3

We are on the single digit countdown today!! Packing "piles" are all over the floor, my pile being the biggest and most organized. :rotfl: Just need to get the kids through another week 1/2 of school, and we're off! :woohoo:

We are staying at the Residence Inn on the 26th. I heard the shuttle was $3 a person to the port. We used the AAA rate for the Studio King Suite @ $142. Was your rate better?

Alright guys, help me out.

We have never been to Cozumel and I know some of you have. We are discussing the possibility of not going to a beach break but instead just wondering around. When the ship docks, how close are you to things? Like I know in Nassau, you get off and everything is right there. If you want to go to the beaches, etc. you just take a taxi ,etc. and get there.

What is there to do in Cozumel? Does anyone recommend wondering around and then going to a beach by ourselves (we have done that in Nassau) if there is time or desire?

We love the beach but are doing the two Castaway days, the stingray in Grand Cayman and just wondered about the Cozumel things. We really wanted to do the EcoPark and Snorkel but it is not available.

The part that sounded the neatest to me about the Eco Park was you go through some of the jungle and also go to the Punta Sur lighthouse. That sounds fun. Has anyone done that before?
