Okay, I have changed my list from a to do list to a MUST DO list. It is hopefully going to be much easier to follow and I recommend it to all of you as well. I was far too stressing yesterday so last night when I was saying my prayers I felt a peace and this came to me instead.

MUST DO LIST

Nothing else really matters does it?

THAT'S MY GIRL!!!! Now you'll be much happier :goodvibes !

Well prayer buddies...I need some right now....DS4 has a raging ear infection (18 months into tubes no less) and I was called at the office today to come get him (out of a very important meeting. Thank goodness my boss looked at my face and said 'go call me on my cell when you find out what is going on'. ) He's been tugging at his ear and running a temp. We took him to the doc yesterday and he's on antibiotics but the last ear infection like this at the beginning of summer, the doc put him on Sulfur drugs for 3 weeks.......sulfur = no sun.....and we are leaving for a cruise in 11 days......I mean I know I do math all day but help me...3 weeks antibiotics =21 days....ummmmm this could be bad.....but I'll deal with it if that's what happens (if he isn't better by tomorrow this is the route we have to go again). Charlie, what time are we all meeting at the bar? Can I get a drink in the terminal...heck the airport and bring it with me onboard?

Hi Everybody,
It's been a while since I have checked in. I can't believe it's almost time to go. It's been crazy at work (I work for a finance company) and it's only now that I am preparing stuff for the cruise. During my lunch break today I was able to make a reservation with Nativeway and book the limo for the ride to the port. I still have a bunch of blank magnetic paper and mickey heads from home depot waiting for me.

See you all soon,
Michael

Shore excursions

I read where many of you are doing the dolphin encounter in Cozumel through an independent tour guide. Please help me out here. How much is transportation there? and I believe I read correctly that you can spend time in the park before and after your Dolphin Encounter. I think that the dolphin encounter would be MOST AWESOME and cheaper than Disney, except food is not included in the price like the Disney beach break.

?

http://www.dolphindiscovery.com/cozumel/cozumel-location-overview.asp

I know a bunch are on the 1pm time slot, a few of us have 2pm.
if you have 4 or more paying in your party, then the cab ride is included. kids 5 and under are free! :)

I am really thinking of cancelling the beach break through Disney and doing this or the beach break Charlie is going on.

Advice please. Has anyone done these excursions off boat before? We have only done the ones through the cruise line. We are booked for an independent one in Grand Cayman also. We are doing the stingray, reef and starfish one there through Nativeway. Anyone else with us on that one?

I'm interested too in the dolphins. We booked ours through DCL only our daughter is doing it, we're watching we've done it before, too expensive to repeat. How did you book GC? Can a 6 year old go? Do you have room for 3 more? I'm not thrilled with the DCL excursion, not enough time on the island to shop afterwards.

That dolphin website, is that the same place DCL takes you to? Hubby and I would enjoy the pool, food and libations! We're paying as observers.

Who else will be at the Residence Inn on the 26th? I got a special week-end rate code from Marriott today. When I went to check the reservation I made in February, it didn't mention the free parking or the $6 shuttle to the port. Does anyone know if this is still being offered? I guess I could call, but you guys probably knew before they did if it changed!! :confused3

We are on the single digit countdown today!! Packing "piles" are all over the floor, my pile being the biggest and most organized. :rotfl: Just need to get the kids through another week 1/2 of school, and we're off! :woohoo:

We are doing the same one on Grand Cayman with Nativeway. Sounds like a blast.

We are also doing the Nachi Cocum beach on Cozumel. It got good reviews and Fatcat gave me some great info on it. Sounds like a few of us are going.

PALO DINNER ALERT! FYI, I see that there's a spot open for 3-4 people on Saturday, 9/27 at 7:00 pm.

Nemontinksmom, if needed, check out our website for "Friday Night Whereabouts". There are several listed there who will be at Residence Inn. There may even be a thread opened up specifically for your hotel.

You also might want to check out Shirley's "Helpful Information" thread. She gives a lot of those details on shuttles on there. If you don't know where to find her thread, look in our Post #1 under the Shipping Boxes section. You'll find a link there.

.... Cozumel: 8:30 AM. Is that the docking time, or the all ashore time? ...

I understood that to be ashore time. Anyone feel or know differently?

...That's a picture worth framing!!:thumbsup2
....

 Funny you said that! I actually DID print it off, cut it down, and posted it in my cubie! I'm off to print the other satelite view that TVEPFOX delighted us with!

...Humor me... let's take a look at that beautiful graphic again from a different view! It's a thing of beauty!

I'm humored! I'm humored! Bring it on!

BLT is being added to DVC

Bay Lake Tower sales are scheduled to begin on September 21 for current Disney Vacation Club Members; sales to the general public will begin at a later date. The initial price is $112 per point, with a $5 per point incentive available with purchase of 160 points.

So perhaps on board cruise incentives may be better than the current planned $5 per point incentive

Without my checklist, it's the only time I have OCD tendencies (not mocking OCD! but I'm serious). If I don't have my checklist, and I just "wing it" in packing, on the way to the airport (every single time) I start panicking and thinking I forgot something. I go through my list in my head over and over. I get all shaky and nervous trying to figure out what I left at home. So, making a list totally takes care of that problem & I don't worry about it anymore!
I have checklist for everything too... Then the night before i have post its on the mirror in the bathrooms reminding everyone of the last minute stuff.. toothbrush's, combs, gel, curling iron etc. lol

So we made a paper chain & it took away all the questions! We actually started the paper chain thing on our trip to Hawaii last February. I was worried how in Earth Reese was going to understand 8 hours of time passing without asking all the time "Are we there yet?" So we made a paper chain with each link representing 30 minutes. He loved tearing off a link, and he only asked 1 time the entire trip if we were getting close. Then, this summer, when we had a road trip planned and were going to drive 7 hours each day, we made 2 paper chains (one for each day) for the car. Again--worked like a charm. Since we didn't know how long it would actually take because of pit stops & such, each link represented 50 miles driven. Anyway--the paper chain is Reese's favorite tool for counting something down!! It's hanging on his bookcase and got sooooo excited when he got to take the 1st link off :)

We did that the 1st time E left as it was such a long time for P to keep asking me when daddy was coming home it was so hard for a 4yr old then.

We leave MONDAY morning o'dark hundred... that's really early!

I'm hearing the same thing from all of you... how will you be able to spot my husband? He'll be the naked one in WDW and on the ship. That man has not packed one stich of clothes. Except his golf balls and golf glove (that he went out and bought today).

My man will stick out like a sore thumb... at this point he's going for the Michael Jackson look... one glove and five balls!:rotfl:
omg im literally lol :lmao:

I've been cruising in September for 9 years. NEVER have I seen an Atlantic like this! We're talking smooth seas, like glass!

Humor me... let's take a look at that beautiful graphic again from a different view! It's a thing of beauty! Keep those fingers crossed!

wooohooo lets hope these seas stay still for us!!:woohoo:

not sure about the dolphine one.. but I priced it out how much we will be actually drinking and eatting and well with the kids wanted to play we will most likely be in the water with them so not much drinking getting done on the beach break. SO Im going to cancle this one w/ disney and we will go to Paradise beach instead. its only $10 per person to get on the water toys. but you do pay for the food and drink. even if we all get a meal, and 2 drinks. I save about $50. (this is included a 15 each way taxi ride) and we can come and go when we want. dont have to wait for the whole excurtion time to head back with was 10-3, and we will probably do it 11-2

welcome back... dont worry most of us have been planning for a year and are just now preparing too LOL:lmao:

EMPTY!!!!!

:cool1:

Thats the signs you read as you drive around here. We just got power back after 2 days without. Never would I have thought that hurrican Ike could have such a effect on Ohio. Even some grocery stores are still without power. Most places don't have internet or cable.

Many of my friends still have no power and the phones work sometimes same with the cell phones. It is totally strange not to have electricity for so long.

But the main thing I can say I learned is how much more we have when we work togther. My neighbor had a generater to share (helped save some food) my dad had extra gas. I had a full tank in my car to run water to my grandmother who lost water with her power. I got Ice early to share. We all had plenty of food in the freezer to use or loose

I just wanted to share what has been going on around here in Ohio Be thankful for the little things

OMG - I hate it when it goes out for a short period - can't imagine being without for any real length of time!

I just checked in with my neighbor. Nadda. We're still in the dark.
:sad2: Hey....nonetheless, only 4 more "official" sleeps and "3" reality sleeps left!

Sorry to hear you're still without power. Hopefully things will improve shortly!

Drea, just noticed the question about which sailaway drink first in your sig...

I vote bahama mama... Mostly because they seem to be the most readily available on departure day. :)

Hmmm...I HATE ear infections! I've had too many in my lifetime! Did you take him to the doctor yet? If you didn't, mention to the doctor about the cruise. Maybe there is another antibiotic that the doctor can put him on that won't make him stay out of the sun. I hope he feels better soon!

Besides, too much sulfa can make you allergic to it... My brother and I are living proof. :)

Hope the little one feels better soon, otherwise, maybe you could just drape a sheet over him with eye-holes for the duration of the cruise.

Kimberly, I am going to kiss you!!! :flower3: I got home to see if I'd had a response to my Residence Inn post and saw your post about Palo. I figured it was too late to get it, especially since my computer at home is slower than Christmas, and it locked up on me, so I had to re-boot it (and almost booted it to the street), but I GOT IT!!! :cheer2: And the date and time are perfect for us. :thumbsup2 So we won't be waiting in line to get on a waiting list. Bring on the DOTD!! I may start celebrating tonight! You rock! :worship:

Thanks guys...right now he's on Omniceif (sp?) which is great because he takes it once a day and he has no sun restrictions. We took him to the after hours clinic yesterday as soon as we saw it (with the hope being we caught theinfection early enough that we woulnd't have issues with it). His pediatric allergiest though seriously worries about these because somehow they can go into an upper respiratory infection then into his lungs (not good for an asthmatic). I"m hoping that by getting home earlytoday and back on the advil, tylenol rotation that my little guy will be back to normal in no time. Currently he's working on eating his 3rd corndog so at least his appitite is back to normal at the moment.

SWEET!!!!!!!!!!!! I grabbed reservations for that day and time a couple of weeks ago thanks to someone (I think it was Denise) who posted there were openings!! So I'll see you there, too!! Indeed, you should start celebrating!!

Okay...I'm still at work (DISing and printing off documents to take with me on vaca...and I DO need to get some work done, too) and just got a page from my neighbor.
Electricity Update: We are now 51 hours and counting with no electricity. :headache: :headache:

It's trash night, so I'm going to have to open up the fridge and start trashing when I get home, which I need to make soon because the sun is about to settle. I know you're getting tired of hearing this, but it must be said. I'm going to hold out on the refrigerator freezer until tomorrow night....then, the big decision on the upright freezer will need to be made.

 PRAYERS & PIXIE DUST that we get electricity in the coming hours so EVERYTHING in the upright doesn't go to waste!!

Omnicef is a good one. DD who is now 10 had a bad ear infection when she was about 5. Amoxicillin didn't work, Zithromax didn't work, but Omnicef worked!:thumbsup2

Hope it clears it up and DS is good to go in 11 days!!!

That's awesome that everyone was able to come together to make life a little easier on each of you. :)

I think the most poignant comments I've heard have been around kids. Many have stated that they didn't know there were so many kids in their neighborhood. They're all outside playing, running, and laughing. Hmmmmm....Imagine THAT?! Another has been the good 'ole board games have come out of the closet. One collegue of mine mentioned that his teenage boy had asked him to play Monopoly with him. "Bring it on!" he responded. Then before you knew it, two of his other children were begging to play with them. Finally, I heard this story on the radio. The DJ's wife had gone outside to find their 8 yr old son. She looked around the back yard....nothing. Went to the front yard....not a sign. She turned around to go back inside, and there he was, sitting in the van! That smart little cookie figured out how to plug his Nintendo up in the van. He was sitting there with a buddy just going at it. She popped her head in and told them "Na Ah! Turn that off, and get outside."

I just checked in with my neighbor. Nadda. We're still in the dark.
:sad2: Hey....nonetheless, only 4 more "official" sleeps and "3" reality sleeps left!

Oh how funny to hear those stories!!! That's great.

Sorry about the power, Kimberly. I sure hope you get it back soon. I know that's got to be a pain in the butt.

:rotfl2: I think all the planning, so long in advance, makes it much more fun!!

Hope you're all having a good day. Reese & I had to make a paper chain to count down the nights until we leave for the cruise. Yesterday, he kept asking "Will I still be 5 when we go on the cruise?" (yes) "How many days is it again? (11) "How many hours will it be?" (no idea) "Why can't we go today?"

I agree!!! I never knew the planning could be as much fun as I'm having planning this trip.

What a great idea!! I might have to do that for my 3 yo. She keeps asking and asking. That might help her.

Definite prayers. I hope you don't have to get rid of all of the stuff in the freezer.

Tie dye shirts/pillowcases/tote bags are done! Yippee. I think I'm going to put them on my blog. I did manage to get a Mickey head on all but 2. :)
