Thanks everyone for the positive hopes for electricity. I stayed at a friend's last night, so I don't know if it's back on or not, however, hearing that the number of customers that are still without went down only 100,000, I'm doubtful. Still a little over a quarter million waiting. Good news is that before it got too dark last night, I finished packing all but the last minute items.

I have to chime in with the rest of you that indeed we can make all of the "fun" stuff stressful as we get ready. I am SO guilty of this. I didn't get everything I wanted accomplished, but you know what....I'm fine with that! I wanted to make one more little item to put on everyone's door, but ran out of time. I also planned to make a t-shirt for our '80s Party, which likely could have been done this week, however, but without power, that's scrapped. I gotta tell you what my idea was though! I was torn between a wedding picture of Luke & Laura that I had altered with a sephia tone along with their names across the photo or a picture of Captain Stubing. I thought those where quite iconic of the '80s! So, this mall chic will show up in her normal attire!

So if you haven't done so already, take the advice of everyone here...."Let it go....let it go!" You'll feel so much better and really...no one will care that you didn't finish everything on your list. They/I/we WILL care, however, if you don't pack and get yourself to the ship!!

For those of you who sent boxes to the port....did you enclose a packing slip on the outside of the box?

I read somewhere that this needs to be done...in case they question your contents....I'm sending mine down Monday

Well I was at the doctor this morning and got one thing checked off my list.

Xanex - check
Anti-sea sickness medicine - can get it over the counter.
Rubber mallard to hit me over the head with during the flight - I think Dave is taking care of that.

Getting there...now I just wish that I didn't have to work a few more days before vacation!

I did put a packing slip on the outside. I mailed mine UPS (Jen, for a 10 pound box, it only cost me $6 with our corporate rate....I don't think USPS could do any better than that!), so I just put one of the plastic sleeves they make to slip the shipping/billing slip into on the outside and placed it in the sleeve on the slide of the box.

I just mailed mine. PUt a note on the outside that there was packing slip inside. My packing slip is not detailed detailed but its there.

Thats the signs you read as you drive around here. We just got power back after 2 days without. Never would I have thought that hurrican Ike could have such a effect on Ohio. Even some grocery stores are still without power. Most places don't have internet or cable.

Many of my friends still have no power and the phones work sometimes same with the cell phones. It is totally strange not to have electricity for so long.

But the main thing I can say I learned is how much more we have when we work togther. My neighbor had a generater to share (helped save some food) my dad had extra gas. I had a full tank in my car to run water to my grandmother who lost water with her power. I got Ice early to share. We all had plenty of food in the freezer to use or loose

I just wanted to share what has been going on around here in Ohio Be thankful for the little things
