Have this been asked yet?
how many plan to rebook while on board?

We are going to book I think for 2010. :) My mom is going to join us. :)
Maybe I will talk dh into a 4 day Wonder cruise too.

We have three 2009 trips booked... However... Knowing my hubby the way I do.. I am sure we will be Booking more, while onboard.. :upsidedow Too bad the 2010 dates come out 3 days AFTER we get off the ship.. :sad2:

I didn't know we could book 2010 dates yet :confused3 I would love to rebook, but not sure if it is in the budget right now. We will have to see how much we end up spending on :drinking1

To add to this question: What time are each of you planning on getting to the port? We will be there bright and early, hopefully when it opens :rolleyes1

We will be rebooking also....we're planning on booking the Dec. 2009 cruise that Hadley's family is on like I posted earlier. It will be our second cruise in 2009 (if we can actually make it happen....which is a bit of a long shot...but if we have it booked we're way more likely to plan as if we are doing it). We may even book ANOTHER set of dummy dates, too, in 2010.

If you like cruising with Disney...then it's silly not to book a cruise while onboard because you get a discount AND a stateroom credit.....just book it for far out. Even if you can't do the cruise you book, as long as you cancel/rebook the reservation with enough notice there is no penalty and your stateroom credit transfers with you, I think. So lots of people book just any old dates (hence the name "dummy dates") to get hte deal and then figure out if/when they'll actually cruise later on.

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

OK, so the Williams Wheels are turning here....

Our flight on the 4th isn't until 6:30pm. So now we've rented a car. Heeeeey....we have PLENTY of time to stop at EPCOT and use our annual passes for the day!

So...now, we're going to EPCOT for the day after we got off the boat! Instead of sitting at the airport for hours & hours, we'll just drive ourselves to Disney for the day.

Awesome! We'll be at the MNSSHP.:cool1:

I'm hoping to book something and then move it when the dates come out 3 days later. :rotfl:

I believe the 1/2 price down payment is still in effect at least for the beginning of our cruise so I'm hoping to take advantage of that. Yes I know I still have to pay everything in the end but it's less up front!!

I'm hoping to get there bright and early!!!!! :dance3:

You can actually attempt to do the upconvert.

Example.

In May I booked a 2009 cruise because I did not want to get the fuel surcharge.
When I cruise in Sept I ask the nice lady on board to apply the re-booking incentives of stateroom credit and 10% off.

Worst case scenario is I cancel my May booking and then just book on board fresh.

Best case scenario is the upconvert on board works for an existing reservation. Then after you are sure you are using the this reservation you have Costco take over the reservation to include all the on board incentives plus Costco Cash back

I don't think you can book 2010 dates yet because they haven't been confirmed yet

as for the port... we have 12 people in our party.. including 4 teenagers!! so who knows when we will get there... unless DH gets his way, which most of the time he does, we will be there early, but not right when the doors open

We're getting there early, too.....I'm assuming we'll be there by or at 10am....I hope lots of people are planning to get to the port early....because hopefully Hadley and I'll be in the first bunch to board the ship around noon....so the more people who are in the port before that...the more lanyards I can get rid of and not have to carry onto the ship and down to the promenade lounge......or hand deliver to the rooms later that night!!! So everyone come early and get your lanyards!! :lmao: :lmao:

As for whether its' in your budget.....I'd really encourage you to think of it as only needing the DEPOSIT to be in your budget....becasue like I said...if you book the cruise and as it gets closer you realize you just aren't going to have the funds to pay for it or the dates won't work (or you hate the itinerary or something), you just change it and rebook it and (although I've never done it) there is no penalty.

Funny you mention rebooking. We just picked up our docs for WDW and DCL. DH and I talked about 2009 and the cheaper down payment. I was looking at prices on DCL for next Aug or Sept Cat 7, they're crazy! Up 1000 to 1200 bucks, some even more. I went to RCCL more ports, better cabin (full balcony) cheaper than what we're paying for this cruise! I think Mickey needs us to pay for the new boats. I say it every year, this might be our last DC. I've probably spent 30k in the last 5 years with DCL. We can still go to WDW but I think we're jumping ship in 2009. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE DCL and all they do for me but it might be time for a more affordable cruise. With RCCL savings we could do two cruises a year plus WDW.

Don't forget some of us are going to MNSSHP on Friday night.. We have a 7:45pm dinner reservation at Liberty Tree Tavern.. If you feel like lugging ours to MK, feel free to come over and deliver the landyards.. :thumbsup2

Sadly, as of right now, no rebooking on board:( That could change but I highly doubt it. Financially its not in the budget and we plan to do Disney Jan 2010 so taking the kids out twice in a school year is a NO NO!

We just had a freaky car accident. We were backing out of a parking space in a lot in Manalapan NJ and the front bumper caught on the stand alone concrete on the ground and pulled off the entire front bumper of our 2000 Nissan Altima. Scared the H__L out of us. No one was hurt, but we filed a police report, and we had to tie up the bumper so we could get the car home.

oK..I'm doing a happy dance  ...was just able to sneak in Palo reservations for the last Friday we are onboard at 7pm. Yes I know that's the day we are at Castaway Cay but i have a feeling that by then my little guy and I are going to be sunburned and not really interested in spending all day on the beach. so I can put him down for a nap, his dad and I can pack and have everything ready to leave the next day and then go enjoy one last 'fun' activity while he has a last night in the kids club. I don't think I'll tell hubby until we are onboard.....

Wow.. that is kinda freaky.. I didn't know a cement parking spot thing would be high enough to do that.. Thankfully neither one of you were hurt.. Besides you have a cruise to be on in a few weeks ;)

as soon as possible! probably E will drop off off at 10am (or a tad earlier :rolleyes1 ) then he will take the car back to the rental place and shuttle it over to us.

I thought you couldnt book dummy dates anymore.. if you cancle your out the 10% booking and onboard credit... am I right? I thought this was brought up a few weeks/months ago about a new Disney policy. someone PLEASE correct me if im wrong!

Talk about "dead" weight....sheesh what we women can go through :lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2:
HAHA love it

Thats what E is leaning towards going on another liner where we can get it cheaper... Also out of Cali too so we dont have to pay airfair. he's thinking a long one to Hawaii.

You can book dummy dates. You lose all the money you've paid if you cancel your cruise within 75 (or 45 days?) of sailing. Disney's just enforcing their cancellation policy now. It used to be you could get sick right before getting on the boat and Disney would move your reservation to another sailing. Now, they take your money per their policy.

Enforcing their cancellation policy has nothing to do with dummy dates, which get moved to the right sailing WAY before the cancellation policy takes effect.

TVEPFOX: We're thinking the same thing. I don't think I'll be putting any money down on a deposit on this cruise... All the cruises I've looked at are too expensive for the three of us.

Hmmm...I hadn't heard that...must've missed it or maybe it was on another cruise thread. I'll contact our TA and find out.

A client of mine just got back from a Hawaiian cruise (not sure whitch line) and he said that they charged $100 per person to go ashore at each island stop! :scared1: He said that they were not told about this extra charge by their travel agent before hand.
