I am 90% positive that I was on there late last week and it said CM after you logged in. Man....that's really going to mess up our logo.

Indeed it is going to mess up the logo on Tshirts and such that have already been made. For the Lanyard name tags, however, I have not printed them....so if we get a final word on what ports we're going to soon I can at least make the lanyards right.

And actually....that's a good lead into another lanyard related issue....so everyone please read on:

As you all already know, a generous group of individuals joined myself and Hadley (NHDisneylover) as the "lanyard team"----which means these are the folks who all chipped in some $$ to cover the costs of the lanyards for everyone who wanted one and requested them by the deadline (and there are just under THREE HUNDRED of us!!:woohoo: :woohoo: ).

This group of people was established a while ago and, unfortunately, two of our 19 members have since had to cancel this cruise (bunny1 & Stargater). As a result that left us with two openings on the lanyard team. Stella (FinallyBoughtDVC) has already generously jumped in and taken one of those slots (:thanks: )

So now what would be great is if one more of our DIS friends who is looking for a way to throw some love to all our fellow cruisers could jump in and take the final open slot on the lanyard team!!

Do you want to help out?
Do you have $30 to contribute to the effort?

If so, then PM me and let me know and I'll send you details on where you can send your contribution! (There is only one slot left on the team so the first person to PM me will be the person who gets it....so if you want to help out with these great momentos for the group...don't hesitate!!)

Just a note: As a special thank you to all our lanyard team members....their screen names will be listed on the back of your name badge on your lanyard so when you see them aboard you can say THANKS!:) )

Well, I was on teh DCL sight yesterday making a payment and it said Costa Maya so they must have just changed it... They should have notified us if they were going to change it to a regular location. I have already been to GC and do not really want to go back.... Any other stop would be better....

NO NO NO NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO :furious:

Twice I have been planning and wishing and hoping to get to see Costa Maya and this will be Twice now that we are getting dumped somewhere else!!

It is Just Not Fair!!!

I just logged into DCL and saw this:

Saturday, September 27, 2008 Port Canaveral
Sunday, September 28, 2008 Castaway Cay
Monday, September 29, 2008 At Sea
Tuesday, September 30, 2008 Grand Cayman
Wednesday, October 1, 2008 Cozumel
Thursday, October 2, 2008 At Sea
Friday, October 3, 2008 Castaway Cay
Saturday, October 4, 2008 Port Canaveral

I'm so bummed I wanted to go to Costa Maya so badly.

ETA: On the main DCL page it still shows Costa Maya, but when you are logged in with your confirmation number it is showing what I posted above. Anyone know what the case is with that?

Oh no, now I am really confused! Drea and I were just talking about this the other night. I thought for sure I saw we were going to Grand Cayman, then she thought no it's Costa Maya. I don't know what I was looking at, it also said Key West :rotfl2: I swear I was sober when I saw that! Where did I read that? Ha!

Okay....if any of you book through Dreams, or have in the past, help me out...We still book our own stuff (excursions, Palo, etc.) through the DCL website using our original DCL confirmation number, correct? For some reason I cannot log in to the DCL site, I keep getting this error message: (of course the info I entered numerous times was correct)

Sorry there's been an error. Please correct the information below to proceed.

We're having a problem with our reservation system that will prevent you from booking your vacation package or retrieving your reservation right now. We're sorry for any inconvenience. Please call your travel agent or call (800) 951-3532 weekdays 8 a.m. - 10 p.m. ET or weekends 9 a.m. - 8 p.m. ET and our agents will gladly assist you. (300)

I'm not trying to book now, I just want to look at my ressie..maybe see if I have been assigned a stateroom yet. Egh. This has gone on for a couple of days. I swear I had been able to log in to DCL previously (yet after transferring over to DU). Anyone else have this issue or am I doing something wrong??? :confused3 :thanks:

Uh. I have to finish the one from last October first.....:rotfl2:

The same thing was happeneing to me. I had originally put in my reservation # and I got that error. I found a different #, a confirmation # and put that in and it worked. Do you have that # too?

Deep Breath. No I am not happy about the change and I bet there will be a flurry of people dropping out now before the 90 day mark. That said, I will be Pollyanna and say I am GLAD it is not Castaway Cay we cannot get into (that has happened to us twice) and I am GLAD it is Grand Cayam (a mediocre port at best) as opposed to Nassua (a downright icky port).

great - we just ordered the T-shirts on Sunday!!!! AND, I was coming on here to let everyone know that I actually received them today!!!! Four T-shirts and now we can't wear them?????

Well - I logged onto my reservation and just like everyone else, my itinerary shows Grand Cayman. I don't really have a problem with it, just that since I already spent $75 on T-shirts - we're going to be wearing the Costa Maya ones!!!!

No way !!!! I thought for sure we were OK and were going to Costa Maya!!!!

Is this official???

What I find surprising is that we have a day at sea before Grand Cayman. My memory may be foggy, but it seems to me it is closer to CC than to Cozumel so it would make sense to do CC, Grand Cayman then the day at sea and then cozumel. I MUST be confusing my islands though.

WHen did you get the call?

Do you think we all will get one

charlie:woohoo:

Received the call about 30 minutes ago around 7pm EDT. I was told that DCL is canceling all the Costa Maya ports, for our cruise and all the following special cruises too. The port is still too damaged for us to go there or dock. All they offered was if I wasn't happy with the itinerary change is to move to another cruise itinerary and date. Really not happy with the change either. Like so many of us, we've done the usual itineraries so many times in the past and have three cruises booked for next year too.

Lisa, FYI I hopped over to the 10/25, 11/22, and 12/20 threads to update them on your inquiry by quoting Charmaine's posts.

Really I was kinda joking about this messing up our logo since there are bigger disappointments, even though some of us have logo merchandise already (I'm one of them). I'm with you guys...I was really wanting CM, not GC since that's a more frequent port to visit from many cruiselines.

Moreover, I'm very sad for the native islanders. No doubt they really need us there for their economy. Very sad.

Well, we were really looking forward to Costa Maya, but we have never been to Grand Cayman, so, I am not too upset :duck: . Although, all of you pros don't make Grand Cayman sound very appealing :confused3

Now I have to spend the next few days reading over the Grand Cayman stuff in my Passporter to get ready for booking this weekend...........

Sorry to all of you who have already been to GC and already had big plans for Costa Maya :flower3:

I wonder if DU plans on notifying me?

Wow, that's kind of a bummer. We really liked Costa Maya... it was so laid back and the people were so warm and friendly. I spent a week on Grand Cayman about 10 years ago and had no real desire to go back. Well, at least: The Cayman Islands are considered politically stable and enjoy a high standard of living. There have been no reported incidences of terrorism or threats made against Americans or American interests in the Cayman Islands. The crime threat in Cayman Islands is generally considered low although travelers should always take normal precautions when in unfamiliar surroundings.... which is nice.
