Just received an email from Dreams Unlimited. We are goimg to Grand Cayman instead of Costa Maya , due to the extensive damage. Not what I was wanting cause now the itinerary is almost exactly the same as the following week's one :( . Well I guess 2 stops at CC will have to be the highlight.

Kimberly: You should get yours started soon! Just one more thing for me to read to pass the time :)

I second that!

Wanna have a Disney Pity Party together, I am SUPER BUMMED
You said REAS comes with dinner, can I also book Brunch the same time I book dinner at 105 days? Or can I just book dinner adn have to wait until 75 for bruch, I am SO confused:confused:

It comes with dinner, but you can book EVERYTHING bookable online at the 105 day mark. It basically puts you in the concierge category.

Does anyone know how to say Chankanaab???

When I read that I saw Chaka Khan, and now I can't look at it and not think of that song she did in the 80's.

LOL! Okay....okay. I'll try to start working on it this weekend. I need to outline it first though, otherwise, I'll be saying "oh yea...remember back in Post #4, I cannot BELIEVE I forgot to tell you "this" happened before Post #5 was even a thought on my mind"! I admit I am anxious to journal this whole experience though!

I am hooked on writing TR's mainly because it helps me remember all of the little details that I would normally forget. I can read them later and think "oh yeah! I loved the bathrooms at Route 66! (on the Wonder)"

Okay....if any of you book through Dreams, or have in the past, help me out...We still book our own stuff (excursions, Palo, etc.) through the DCL website using our original DCL confirmation number, correct? For some reason I cannot log in to the DCL site, I keep getting this error message: (of course the info I entered numerous times was correct)

I'm not trying to book now, I just want to look at my ressie..maybe see if I have been assigned a stateroom yet. Egh. This has gone on for a couple of days. I swear I had been able to log in to DCL previously (yet after transferring over to DU). Anyone else have this issue or am I doing something wrong??? :confused3 :thanks:

I think someone else already said this, but you have to make sure you are using the DCL number and not the DU number. You have to log into your DU reservation, get your DCL reservation # and THEN log on to DCL. I know this because I did the same thing last year :thumbsup2

Just received a phone call from DCL.... Officially changed - Costa Maya has been changed to Grand Cayman.

I was going to write something like "say it isn't so!" but then....

Just got my email from DU confirming the port change :(

I got mine too. *sniffle*
Back to the drawing board. Just when I had it all planned!

Woo Hoo!! They assigned my room number too ! But not my Mom and that we are linked too. Weird, huh? We are on deck 7 in the front (excuse me, forward) of the ship. That's good, right? I guess it's not so bad after all, I've never been to Grand Cayman either.

Just got my email from DU too !

Crissi

The ports that I always want to visit are the ones cancelled!

On our Panama Canal cruise Hurrican Hilliary kept us from Cabo and now this port!

Darn-oh well I am still sailing!

Those of you who have been to GC, can you recommend any excursions? I was looking thru my Passporter for something for my whole family and I like the sound of the Island Tour & Butterfly Farm. Mostly because it is kid friendly for my DS/3. Are there any good choices that can be booked privately rather than thru Disney?

If numbers are starting to get assigned please remember to forward those to me so we can get your lanyards delivered to you once on board:thumbsup2

LOL, I was officially the one to inform Dreams Unlimited about the Costa Maya/Grand Cayman change..I was on the phone with Tracy and she said she had not heard about it and would check it out and then she called back and confirmed...his thread is like MTV news....you hear it first.

But no, we have serious issues logging in to DCL, have spent all afternoon on with Dreams (resolving one big issue and a few little ones) and also DCL who keep insisting we can't log in due to heavy "traffic" ...but we have two reservations and can log into one but not the other. At least we have 2 1/2 weeks for them to fix it.

We also have our staterooms now...not b/c DCL just happened to assign us but b/c we had to scramble today and grab another stateroom. Luckily because of our situation we were able to get a good deal and work things out in our favor and now breathe a sigh of relief....that no matter where this stinkin' cruise goes....at least we'll be there with ya'll!

So anyway we have a sideways cat. 11 room 6019 forward and a cat. 8 right across the hall room 6022. No upgrades...oh well. :confused3 At this point we are just glad to still be going!::yes::

Deep Breath. No I am not happy about the change and I bet there will be a flurry of people dropping out now before the 90 day mark. That said, I will be Pollyanna and say I am GLAD it is not Castaway Cay we cannot get into (that has happened to us twice) and I am GLAD it is Grand Cayam (a mediocre port at best) as opposed to Nassua (a downright icky port).

I am hanging with Pollyanna:thumbsup2 We also dont like naussau and to be honest with this great group of disers we will have fun NO MATTER WHERE WE GO;)

Soooooo......... what is everyone thinking excrusion wise? I know some of you planners have already read up on Grand Cayman like Crissi and I just did::yes:: WE are a bit limited due to the ages of the kids, looking like a submarine tour and/or butterly farm.

A friend of mine said she did the Cayman Island Tour when she was in Grand Cayman in April, differnt ship, she said it was OK, they didnt get to go to the turtle farm for some reason and were bummed, I will talk to her tomorrow and get more info

Happy Planning

YEAH Jen, Cant wait to meet the baby ( and everyone else too:lmao: ), I LOVE BABIES:love:

While I am usually Pollyana-ish... I would prefer Nassua so I could take the kids to Atlantis. We do not like any ofthe excursions for our kids at GC - but my kids are excited - now we get a movie day. We will spend the day under a blanket in the theater watching whatever they happen to be showing!!!

So, since people are getting room assignments, I called DCL to try and get our favorite room - 6060 and I was told it is currently listed as a guarantee room so even though no one is assigned, I can not have it  . Not a huge deal since we are in 6062 but we always stay in 6060 and I really wanted it. I guess I do not understand the way they assign rooms, because it seems like they could just switch me to 6060 and leave 6062 as the guarantee room.

I am not happy:mad:  about the change was really looking forward to CM. This will be our 4th time at GC. The highlight there is the sting rays we did that on our first trip there was alot of fun. This last time we didn't even get off the ship. My girls won't be happy either M this will be her 3rd time there K will be her 2, but their bf's have never been there so we will find an excursion for them. Last time we were there we talked about Seven Mile Beach, but didn't do it maybe this time.

Booked the REAS package today for Joe and I see you all on line midnight Sat.!!:surfweb:

On another topic.........well, still the cruise of course, I remember reading here or on the main thread that you can book a private room for Palo for 12 or more guests. Can we do that for Brunch too? Anyone know?

Thanks,
Crissi

Yes, and Julie (skoi) has done that already for one of the sea days. There are a few details on Post #6, but not much as we're in a holding pattern.

I'm disappointed too. We did the regular Western last Sept and went to the turtle farm and butterfly farm. It was fun. Here are some pics of turtle farm and Castaway Cay:

Thanks Kimberly,

For some reason I was thinking she booked tea, not brunch. Anyway, wasn't it for 12 or more people?

Julie -lf your spots are all booked up can we add more or start another group?

Crissi

Hi everybody,
I also received the email from DU regarding the change from Costa Maya to Grand Cayman. It doesn't affect my group too much since only my wife and I have to been to GC and that was 5 years ago on our honeymoon.

On a side note..
Favorite Cold Drink
Me...Iced Cafe Moca
The Mrs.....Brewed Sweet Iced Tea
Both DS's....anything I am drinking.

After looking at my Passporter, I think that we are going to go with the Boatswain's Beach Adventure Marine Park. It sounds perfect for my kids ages and the snorkeling sounds good for beginners. I bumped up a thread on the main boards with a couple of reviews of this excursion for anyone who is interested.

crissi- we're all booked. I couldn't even add my mother in law! I asked for the first sea day, but said we'd take the other if it's taken. They review and approve requests between 30 and 25 days out, but I faxed all the info in a few weeks back.

I asked about tea, but they don't do the private room for tea.

Julie
