anc22...self control is over rated! Dream away!:rotfl2:

 Amen! :cloud9:

....although, I have to admimt I've been doing the same, Arin, and this will be my first DCL cruise, too!

My restraint is to wait for 2010 for my next cruise and land vacation, which I want to be in Hawaii. Obviously it won't be DCL though. I'm really wanting to save the money to go there for my next milestone ((big gulp)) birthday, so I really should hold off on 2009 plans!

Good luck with that resistance!

i jumped on a cheap carnival cruise to warm-up for disney this september.

i can't wait to try a windjammer family cruise but can't do that one til my ds is 6. that will be a june 2014 cruise. lol!

Just checked again. :surfweb:

Cruise still unbookable on Disney site. :confused3

This does not bode well for an upgrade.
However I am in a Cat 8 guarantee so you never know.

Just can't pay that $600+ for the verandah. :teacher:
Had it once on Wonder so been there done that. :rolleyes1

Would LOVE  to have it for FREE though.

I agree Sue! We are GTY 8 also....I think (maybe I'm just too optimistic) that we have a decent chance...there are only 60 CAT 8 rooms...You never know...here's for hoping for some pixie dust for us!!!!:wizard:

DCL did confirm when we spoke to them this weekend that there is no further "inventory" available for this sailing....which I think in DCL speak means sold out.

Arin, we were looking at next year too. I was also suprised..the prices seem a bit high for that time of year. In fact (we have done more research than I'd like to admit on time of year vs. price) we've discovered this VERY week (last wk of Sept. first wk of Oct.) is THE cheapest week to sail. I was mildly suprised to see prices $1,000 to $1,500 higher than this time last year for booking the same distance out. Of course we are looking at a higher caetgory (4) but there was certainly an increase across the board!!!:scared:

We think we may do a 4-night next year OR a RCI where we don't have to pay extra $$ for the baby (or get a higher category room). And save the next big trip for 2010....maybe either on the new ship, or if those are too expensive then my hopes are the prices on the Magic and Wonder go down a bit.

Photopass onboard would be fantastic. We used it for the first time in December and got some great pics. The rumor that it might be happening on DCL has been floating around a couple of years, though. I also seem to remember another thread where a CM said DCL is resisting putting it on the ships because they make a LOT of money on impulse purchases in Shutters. (Not to mention even the non-impulse packages...very pricey...). I hope they do that, though....Don't they get enough of my money!?!?!?:rotfl: !

I would love the see photopass onboard the Magic. I hate to waste time standing around looking for our pictures and then deciding at that moment which ones to buy. I actually think I would buy more if I had the chance to view them from home.

YES YES PhotoPass.

We could then combine Photopass cards.
Appears to be either a limit of 10 of approx 750 megs.

I asked in WDW.
The CM told me there were only enought line entries for 10 Photopass sku cards on the software.

Then buy 1 CD. And burn multiple copies.

Curious if there is any issue with the Shutters photos that have the Disney Trademark logo on them. The WDW photos on the CD I got did not have the Trademark.

I have a guess that there may be a Hawaii DCL in 2011  I'm really hoping for that one, along with a DVC package in Hawaii! Now I just have to convice DH!!!

They are trademarked but there is a waiver on DCL site to print so that you can have reprints made elsewhere.

Haven't done it myself....but I know you can.....

Just checking in.....you know me, I get all chatty for awhile and then I disappear :rolleyes1

Last Sunday we went to Epcot with my parents, who were doingf Dive Quest! We actually gave it to them for Christmas. It was so fun, and we weren't even the ones in the water!

For those who don't know, the Divemaster at Epcot's Living Seas (or Nemo and the Living Seas, or whatever they call it now....it will always be the Living Seas to me) runs two dives per day that you can pay to be a part of, as long as you have a SCUBA card. We hung out on the observation deck with the video camera, and they swam up to the glass and waved to us.

People say the funniest things when they see divers in the tank.

"They must be picking out all the dead fish."
"Are they cleaning the tank?"
"Is that a diving class or something?"
"Who, how did those people get in there?"

and my personal favorite, from a girl who looked about six years old:

"But, don't they get hurt in there?"

My Stepmom only panicked once, when one of the bigger sharks swam a little closer to her than she was comfortable with. A giant fish bumped into my Dad's mask.

Other than that, same old stuff going on here in Florida! Hope everyone is well.

Nice to hear from you again Erica! The Divequest for your parents sounds fun--thanks for the description. Please read post 86 on page 6 of this thread and get your lanayrd information in:) THANKS

So Rio was doing some writing work today and I was just reading over what he wrote. It was a worksheet to fill in endings to various sentences which when put together could be a paragraph about yourself.

Here are some:
I think my family is great becausethey spend money wisely so we can afford lots of Disney Cruises:rotfl2:

When I grow up I want to be a performer on the Disney Cruise:dance3:

If I could be anywhere right now it would be on one of the new Disney ships they are building

Nah, he's not obsessed or anything:lmao:

Erica, while we were at the restaurant that faces the dive in Oct 2006, we saw a proposal from a diver to a woman in front of the tank. Pretty neat.

Hadley, your Rio is extremely well-spoken. I was very impressed by his introduction post.

So DH got his tux... He puts it on, and we both thought to ourselves, "Wow, that looks Vulcan." :rotfl:

Ill be happy if we just get bumped to a cat 10 LOL we are in a 12 but with 4 of us thats an auto upgrade to cat 11... but 10 would mean split baths LOL at the time we booked I couldnt justify another $300 just for the additional bathroom... Thats our tips (well almost) hoping for pixie dust.. just a lil lol momma wants her on bathroom LOL

I just thought I would check in and also wish everyone....

:flower3: :lovestruc  HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!!!:lovestruc :grouphug:

Just stopping by to say hi. Went to bed and fell to sleep only to wake up about 1 1/2 hours later. Now I set awake knowing I will pay for it tomorrow but just can't seem to relax. At least I don't have to work in the morning. I do need to clean house, do laundry and really need to take down the Chrismas stuff. If I wait much longer I might opt to just leave it up and say I just put it up early. This is why it only get out every few years. It is just such a hassle.

So much for my complaining. I hope everyone is looking forward to their weekend. I am hoping to have some time with the grandkids this weekend. Maybe watch a movie. I guess that is something I can plan now. Till morning, Lois

I didn't have the television on last night, so I'm sitting here watching The Today Show learning about the campus shooting in Dekalb. I hope no one is directly affected.

Ohhh, Lois! I'm sorry I hate nights like that. I hope you got settled down and rested quickly once you were up. Have a great time with the DGkids! I know I'm very much looking forward to the 3-day weekend!!

Hadley, Rio is just too much! What a young man you have there!

 Erica! Great to see you! What a wonderful Christmas gift to give your father and step-mother! I love the stories of the observers, too!

Brandie, I'm sure your Vulcan is very handsome. :groom: Oh..and to follow up our from our Yahoo IM conversation, yea....we are even now and I'm off the hook! :rotfl:

Tammie, I'll cross fingers with you that the DCL Hawaiian cruise becomes reality as well! :woohoo:

So I STILL haven't been able to tell DGM that she's going on the cruise! It's KILLING me! Yesterday, mom and I were able to nail down a day I can drive up to tell her together. So after next weekend, I can report back her reaction and tell her that now her lanyard is ordered, she can't deny me! ;)

Have a happy Friday!

Good morning to all. It is now just 7 AM so I got About 4 more hours of sleep. I just hate it when I don't sleep well it effects all parts of my life. I have enjoyed reading everyones stories. Your families are so blessed to have all of you.

We were not directly touched by the shooting in Dekalb but Janet's father attened and graduated with is Masters from that school less than 20 years ago. Don't remember for sure when. It is just so sad that we as a people have come to the point that human life has such little value as to be thought of as a way to express ones unhappy. To take another's life just isn't fair. The people who had their life taken and those who were injured just did not deserve what happened.

We have got to find a way to teach repect for life and property. It needs to be taught in the home by family. Kids today just don't seem to respect anything and will take what they want. Now I understand that the folks doing this is really just a small number but to have this mass destruction so often scares me.

Going to have a productive day. Will stop by later. Lois

Everyone must be busy. I found the thread on page two. Hope everyone will have a good weekend. Lois
