Hey Amy....any inside scoop on if there's going to be a family matching tropical-like outfit in the stores or on .com this year and if so, when? I swear I look 2-3 times a week thinking they've just got to get something out there soon. It seems each year they come up with something. :confused3

I am waiting as well........Denise and I always find some matching outfits to wear.......I would LOVE to get something like that for all of us. We are a bunch of dorks.

OK, as for the question of the week.....that is tough......I have 3.

1- The first time we went to Disney - I was in 4th grade. We drove down with my familiy in one car and my Aunt and Uncle and his family in the other. There is a picture of me, my brother, sister and 3 cousins on the steps on Main Street with our Mickey Ears on. I know someone has it..........I'll have to swipe it so I can post it. It was a great picture.

2- October 2006 we went to Disney with Denise and her family and stayed with them at the Beach Club Villas in a 2 bedroom. We all went to MNSSHP along with another family that was friends of theirs. We all wore Incredibles T-Shirts. We ate at the Crystal Palace and got through all the rides we wanted to in MK and some of them twice before they closed at midnight. It was really a great time!

3- Also October 2006, we got DS haircut for the first time at the barber shop on main street. DD got her hair done up like a princess. I will never forget the looks on their faces. DH swore it was a bad idea because DS could not stand still but they were wonderful with him. It was truely magical!

Also - welcome to the new folks........the more the merrier!

...I am a single mom, my daughters are 13 (will be 14 at sail time)and 9......

I've taken a look at the Master Cast Roll Call List for the young ladies around your girls' ages. Here's what we have in addition to your two.

  • Six 14-yr olds
  • Nine 9-yr olds

:goodvibes Thank you to everyone for the warm and friendly welcome.:thanks:
:welcome:roonie75.
Kimberly: Oh yes - Withdrawal was tough after the wonderful pampering. A truly once in a lifetime experience fro us.
Diana: Would love to adopt …. Just so many requests since that last cruise …
Julie: Med Cruises were great. Must admit we had already done a tremendous amount of travelling through Europe when we lived in the UK, so we skipped the cities we had already visited - in some cases numerous times (Rome, Florence, Naples, Pompeii etc) and concentrated on the ports/places that were new to us. Island of Ischia, Sardinia, Avignon. Also enjoyed some of our favourite destinations like Monaco. With doing two Meds we could also pace ourselves. Many of the other passengers found it tough especially the 10-night cruises. They missed out on a sea day to recoup. Also idn’t realise that the excursions to Rome, Florence etc were long drives to and from the port. Leaving the ship early in the morning and returning relatively late often even after late dinner seating. Can tell you more if you like when we’re on the ship.
Erik: Thank you for the Lanyard info etc ….. Also, thank you to all the kin donators.

I am a single mom, my daughters are 13 (will be 14 at sail time)and 9. My sister also went on our first cruise and we promised to make it at least an annual tradition.

I'll be on my own with my kids, and also have a 13 (will be 14) year old daughter. If she'd like to email mine, send me a pm and let me know.

Welcome aboard.
Julie

Thanks, Kimberly. It sounds like my kids will have plenty of new friends to meet. I'll just keep the cruise a surprise; they make friends fairly easily so that shouldn't be a problem.

Some of my favorite magical moments:

1. On our first cruise, my 13yo DD had put a silk hibiscus flower in her hair. When we sat down for our first night at dinner, our head waiter commented on the flower and told my daughter how beautiful she looked. He asked if she was from Spain. She giggled, blushed and got a huge grin on her face. We had a bunch of those silly silk flowers and she wore a different one every day of the cruise - it became her trademark.

2. Before we had left home, I had told the kids that dolphins sometimes escort the ships out to sea and that means you will have good luck on your journey. During the sailaway party, my 9yo DD kept grabbing my hand and yelling "we have to get to get to the front of the ship, hurry, otherwise we won't have good luck!" She dragged us all away from the party but her timing was perfect. We found a perfect spot, the ship started moving and she immediately spotted some dolphins. She was squealing with delight, and she is one of those litte diva kids that is SOO hard to please. It was perfect.

3. The kids finding their first towel animal. Need I say more?

Ok Favorite Disney Moment...

Can you guy experts tell me where and what this is?

I haven't heard about this, so I just went to Weather.com to see what's going on. I found this video. Oh my gosh...the music sounds like a death in a movie. It's SO depressing. (fittingly, I'm sure, but still, it's way too sad)

That is a good question, ladies! I don't really know! LOL!!!! So far, the only summer clothing line that we have gotten in is not a tropical theme...it's not even online yet that I can see. We only have the women's skirt in right now (it's a tan color with I think Minnie on it), not shirts yet. For the men, we have a button down Mickey shirt that is navy blue and shorts that I think are plaid. I'd check your local TDS (if you have one by you), but also keep checking the website. :)

I am a dork too. We wore matching shirts at MNSSHP, then we wore them as we went on the boat. We also did matching shirts for Formal night. I am on the lookout for matching shirts again. I want a form of tye dye, but dh is way too set against that one. :)

One of my favorite Disney memories, was taking our girls (2,4) at the time to Disney for the first time. Every time they would see a Princess their faces would light up. They were smiling the whole time. :)

Have you seen the instructions on the DIS on how to make one of these with a mickey head on it? Althought that's not a style for me, I still think they're pretty cool and appreciate the creativity. If I recall correctly, Heather has made them.

Hi, all.

Does anyone know how the dinnig rotations/special nights will work for our cruise? (apologies for the long text, I couldn't get the formatting to work when trying to set this up as a table) I found the following on another site for a 7 night western:

sat
Port Canaveral
Casual

sun
Key West (Castaway)
Casual

mon
Day at Sea
Formal

tue
Grand Cayman (Costa Maya)
Casual

wed
Cozumel
Pirate

thu
Day at Sea
Semi-Formal (Capt's Gala)

fri
Castaway Cay
Casual

On DCL's site, the schedule looks similar. Will Formal night, Pirate night & Semi-Formal night all be the same for our cruise as what's listed above? Trying to figure out when to book Palo's for supper.

Thanks much!

Tiffany (LuvTheEars) has made one as well. It came out very nice.
