How do you stay for say 8 days?

If you did a cash stay on weekends, can you stay in the same room if you booked same cat room villa

A lot of people just moved to a Value for 2 days.

And there were people who were positively apoplectic when the charts moved points from the weekends to weekdays, because they no longer had enough points for their customary five night stay.

Amen to that. I remember. You'd have thought the apocalypse was coming...

In fairness, I think it might have been the very first DVC reallocation, and a LOT of people had no idea it was possible.

I think you’re right - it was the first major reallocation that I can remember, for sure. And there was great weeping and wailing and gnashing of teeth!

Also, for those that weren't around back then, I just noticed in the book I copied above, it has the old point charts back when weekends were waaaay more than weekdays.

Back in those days, the strategy was check-in on Sunday, check-out on Friday...

Wow I didn't know that! The points chart today seems balanced to me today. Our lifehack is to sometimes stay offsite last week of December since the points needed are 50% higher. But it's popular so no need to change it. Only things is that I think that the two days before New Year (Dec 30–31) should cost more points than Christmas (Dec 25, 26) not the other way around (now Christmas is more expensive but new year is more popular).
