I emailed Disney about Costa Maya and this is the response that I got:

Dear Denise,

Thank you for booking a Disney Cruise Line Vacation!

I would be more than happy to assist you with the itinerary for your
cruise.

The 7-Night Alternate Western Cruise sailing on September 27, 2008, will
be sailing from Port Canaveral to Disney's Castaway Cay, then a day at
sea and on to Costa Maya. Then it is on to Cozumel, another day at sea,
and then back to visit Disney's Castaway Cay for a second time.

The Disney Magic docks at Costa Maya in Majahual.

The safety of our Guests and crew is always our first priority and our
Captains can alter the ship's course or itinerary for the safety and
well being of our Guests. If these types of changes happen while
onboard, you will be notified via your Personal Navigator.

I hope this information has been helpful. If you require further
assistance in planning your visit, please feel free to contact us.

We look forward to sailing with you! Have a Magical Day!

Please don't everyone beat me with a wet noodle but... what is MNSSHP?

I keep seeing it and have been unsuccessful with my Mickey decoder ring in figuring it out. Appease a newbie and fill her in.

thanks.

Thanks for the update! :)

We would never beat you with a wet noodle... :)

Anyway MNSSHP is Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. It's a great event that my DBF and I are attending before the cruise. It is a hard-ticketed event which means you'll need to buy an additional ticket to the party (over and beyond your park passes) in order to attend. To me, the party is very well worth it and I"m looking forward to attending mine in September!

Hope that helps! :)

Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party
(I think)

If this isn't right, I know someone will correct it. :)

AHHHH, thank you thank you.

I know what MNSSHP is (but we have not done it yet). I thought it was something cruise-related.

So many abbreviations to learn. :)

I'm in!

I haven't answered many of the questions of the week, but this one got me.

A few years ago my wife's sister (and best friend) was diagnosed with colon cancer at age 40. She has a daughter the same age as mine (3 at the time) and the girls are also absolute best friends. My sister-in-law told us she wanted to go to Disney World with her daughter just once before she died and asked us to go with them. So even though we had a seven month old and were struggling financially, we decided it was the very least we could do.

I managed to get us all reservations for Cinderella's Royal Table for breakfast with the princesses. With my blond daughter in her Cinderella dress and my black haired niece in her Snow White dress, I watched as the princesses strolled into the room one at a time and the girls (the little ones) stood on their chairs, mouths wide open, an awe. Probably because of their dresses, the princesses spent a lot of time with the girls. They were so excited.

This in and of itself could have been the most magical moment, but it wasn't. The most magical moment was one second later when I turned to see my wife and her sister standing there, arm in arm, with tears rolling down their faces as they watched the magic taking place (because for a three year old, these princesses are the real thing and for a mom, it doesn't get any better than that).

I lost my sister in law a month or so ago and my wife lost her sister, best friend and probably so much more than I think I can know. This memory is the one of her sister I will hold in my heart forever. Up until the day before she passed, she was still holding out hope of making it on this cruise, which would have marked the sixth year of her battle.

Absolutely wonderful story. Thank you for sharing.

In the Magic Kingdom in FantasyLand there is Tinkerbelles Treasures store.

Inside the store is a dresser. You can peek into the keyhole and if you are lucky you will see TinkerBell for a split second.

The picture shows her reaction as Fairies are indeed real.

AAAHHHHHH! I have to do that next time we go! Adorable pic :thumbsup2

Hi, all.

Does anyone know how the dinnig rotations/special nights will work for our cruise? (apologies for the long text, I couldn't get the formatting to work when trying to set this up as a table) I found the following on another site for a 7 night western:

sat
Port Canaveral
Casual

sun
Key West (Castaway)
Casual

mon
Day at Sea
Formal

tue
Grand Cayman (Costa Maya)
Casual

wed
Cozumel
Pirate

thu
Day at Sea
Semi-Formal (Capt's Gala)

fri
Castaway Cay
Casual

On DCL's site, the schedule looks similar. Will Formal night, Pirate night & Semi-Formal night all be the same for our cruise as what's listed above? Trying to figure out when to book Palo's for supper.

Thanks much!

Cyndi, I think this will be correct. I posted a listing like this somewhere (probably wayback in this thread)...and Erik posted the email from his TA that corroborated this info. Our only question I think will be the first formal night and if the menus follow the Riviera schedule (which I think they will b/c the new Golden Mickey's menu corresponds with the Golden Mickey's show, which is Monday...formal....so makes sense.)

I had this horrendous dog-eared hand drawn chart/spreadsheet thing with all of the events, menus, ports, etc. for this cruise on it....post its all over it...scratched out info and doodles....it's a riot. ;) Haven't seen it in a while, I sure hope I didn't lose it....only a few weeks til the 90day scramble when we all duke it out!!!!:rolleyes1

Anyone know the typical pattern of dining room rotation? I don't know which night to go to Palo......I might play it safe and try to book the last night. Maybe.

That's it...up there......::yes::

I did more research on it than I care to admit....even in this distinguished company.....what does it say about me that I can't bring myself to miss a "new"(to me) dining room menu!
:bitelip:

I'm the same way!
And you know, until you said that about cyndifan's post, it didn't click. Then I was like, ooooohhhhhh. I'm apparently not very observant :rotfl2:

I was just on castaway club dot com (because the censored me when I posted the address!) looking at the menus, and wow! I'm thinking we might play roulette and book for the second night, and just hope we don't miss Lumiere's. Of the three, that is our fave. I don't so much mind missing the other two, since I've seen them both. But I can't miss Lumiere's!

Not to put another crimp in your plans, but don't forget that Epperbiker got word that Animator's Pallete will not be the same after dry dock!

Oh GREAT! Taunt me with THAT, why don't you! ;)
Of course, we could always just book it for the second night, which was my plan, and change our dining rotation. Or we could just change the Palo night.

I have to remind myself that whatever we miss, Palo will be spectacular as always. Right? Hmmmm. We need an insider from the Magic to fill us in!

Mostly, I want to space Palo over three days (dinner, tea and brunch) instead of having two visits on the same day.

Decisions!

I just got off the Disney Cruise Line web sight and they still haven't listed the excursions for Costa Maya. Has anybody heard anything? For those of us who have been on a Disney Cruise we can start booking our excersions at he end of this month:confused3

My TA said that the unofficial word is that they'll be up by next week. I've been looking compulsively for them myslef!

The first booking window is the night of June 13th (Mountain Daylight Time <-see, Kimberly, I can be taught! :rotfl: ) so DCL better hustle up with those excursions!!! Hard to ask DH and Mom about what they want to do when I'm empty-handed.

I'm another who would love to know when to book Palo's everything. DH and I go to Palo on semi-formal night, which is usually Thursdays. Here's hoping! :thumbsup2 It doesn't seem like any of our cruises go according to plan, so I try not to get too worked up about it.

Disney memories - I couldn't possibly pick a single favorite, but one from yesterday will no doubt be right up there:

Kimberly,
Do you what changes are going to be made at Animator Palate? I have to say of the three dining rooms Animator's Palate is my least favorite so I won't mind some changes.

What is the EXACT day/time us first time crusiers can book Palo and excursions? Also does anyone know if DCL will offer us the double dip specials on Castaway Cay to us also, so far they only have them for the Wonder Double Dip crusies

Thanks
