Home with a sick daughter, bored, went to Expedia and........my Loews booked $389+ deluxe queen room for the Hard Rock April 16 for 3 nights was $331! I rebooked with Loews to club level at the $351 rate Expedia had. This is April school vacation! Nothing like this ever happens to me. I am so excited.:yay:

When you book with Expedia, Hotels.com, etc., is your stay still "qualifying" and applied to your Loews First account?

I don't know. I had the Expedia info. on the screen, pulled out my Loews reservation and called them. They changed my reservation from deluxe to club level at the Expedia price. I have the same reservation number but a new room category and MUCH cheaper rate!

Loews deluxe was $389, Expedia was $331
Loews club level was $450, Expedia was $351

All this made me check my car rental (dollar.com) and naturally that rate had gone down in the 10 days since I made the reservation. I then modified the reservation on the website easily enough and saved $41. Got an instant confirmation with the new reduced rate. I'm telling you, stuff like this NEVER happens to me!

No, expedia, and other third party bookings do not count.

Since you booked directly with Loews and just asked them to match the rate you found on Expedia, your stay just might count as a qualifying one. At least that's how I am reading your post. If you booked directly through Expedia, that stay wouldn't count for sure. But since you booked directly with Loews, and they just matched the Expedia rate, they just might count it. You'll have to let us know when you check in. Enjoy! :goodvibes

This is strange....

I checked my rate on Expedia. $256 per night Garden View room (expedia) on the Universal site the same room is $255 per night (super saver). It is one dollar per night more on Expedia - I thought that was strange.

I don't know if you can get a free upgrade from LF booking thru Expedia. But now I know I got a good deal on my rate of $255 for a Portofino Suite upgraded thur LF.

It is funny how the rates work. You really have to check everything for the best deal. You got a great one!! Enjoy your trip:thumbsup2

i believe if you find a lower rate within 24 hours of booking, loews will honor it and have it qualify. meaning, it counts as a stay for loews if you contact them right away.

To be honest I don't care about qualifying stays as we mostly stay with family for beach vacations and friends for ski vacations. I signed up for Loews specifically for the cookies.

My reservation was made with Loews direct January 23. I checked the rates on Expedia April 2 and found they were cheaper. I simply called Loews and they were willing to give me the Expedia rate for the deluxe I had booked but I chose to upgrade to the cheaper Expedia club level. The Expedia club level rate was cheaper than the Loews deluxe rate so it was a no brainer! I actually end up saving $8.
