Dorky Disboutiquing DiserSistas:Destination Disney HeatherSue's(best)version OVER1/27

Awesome TR!!! I'm almost done (down to the last two days I believe) and I've loved it!!! :thumbsup2

Here are some of my notes:

I was laughing out loud at the closely spaced cones, for some reason I found it hillarious! :lmao:

:thumbsup2 for the nice car seats! And :yay: for keeping Tessa in a 5 point harness!!

I LOVE Sawyer's Prince Charming outfit!!! And I almost fell off the chair laughing with the picture of him and the Prince (again, as I had already seen it in Teresa's TR!!!) :rotfl2: He is just too CUTE!!!!

I'm so sorry about the grumpy FGITs!! Tessa looked absolutely beautiful, though!! princess:
I had to laugh at Tessa's BIG smile!!! :rotfl: What a jerk the photographer was!!! That is just stupid! I can't believe how many jerks you met on this trip! Makes me nervous, almost... I don't do too good with jerks, they really upset, not just angry, but feeling upset for days afterwards (yeah, I'm a bit weird. Lydia has my sensitive personality too, yay for the teen years! ).

"Call girl" gave me another good laugh!! :rotfl2:

I really like the ice cream outfits you made, so cute!!! Actually everything the kids wore was really awesome!!! I loved the Chip and Dale (and what was the skanky girlfriend's name??) outfits too! :)

I'm sure happy we're going during a not so hot time of the year, it sounds like torture in AK in the heat...

I just loved it all, Heather!

I really did love reading this TR. I have started one of my own, if you are interested in reading. We just got back a few days ago! :cloud9:

Hi,
I am late to the party!

I can't believe that I managed to read right to the end of your trip report before you have even finished writing it.
I have been reading yours and Teresa's in tandem, one day at a time. It has taken me 4 days to read them both and I have thoroughly enjoyed the laughs, tears, happiness and Love that your family shows to each other.

Teresa pointed me to the "Sista's" thread to read about the step-sisters in your character meal and I got hooked. I think she tricked me :)

I have also read both of your websites and been moved to tears on those also.

So, come on, where is the next installment?

Magic Kingdom

The morning started off a little rocky. I think my poor Disney-hater was just about out of his good humor. He threw a bit of a tantrum because we were out of cereal. He said he was going to go to WalMart and "buy a freaking box of cereal". I gently encouraged ;) my dear husband to eat something else (we had plenty of food and we were leaving the next day). I was determined to make it to the Magic Kingdom to see the opening ceremony. We hadn't seen it yet on this vacation and I really enjoyed it on our last trip.

Teresa wasn't sure what they were going to do this day, so I didn't know if we'd see them in the park or not.

We left the house at 8:00am and got to the park at 8:30. Mom and Dad drove their own car because we were going to split up later in the day. I thought we might just make it to the ceremony on time!

Tessa was having a bit of an attitude problem. Like father, like daughter!

649_360x480.jpg

When we got to the TTC, I couldn't figure out why everyone was acting like we had SOOO much time. They all took a bathroom break and leisurely putted along. I REALLY wanted to hurry!

I finally herded everyone onto the monorail. Aaahhh...smell the fresh country air.

652_360x480.jpg

When we got on the monorail mom said "Oh, I thought we were at the park. I forgot we had to take the monorail." How many times have we been here? So, I guess this is why everyone acted like we were sooooo early. I have to say that I was a little confused on the first day because when we stayed on-site, we got to skip the TTC and go straight to Magic Kingdom on the bus.

The monorail pulled up at 8:55 and....we missed the show. Well, at least we got to walk through the gates at 9:00am, after getting past yet another snotty ticket lady.

I wanted to appease my pouty husband, so I thought we would go and ride the stupid cars...I mean go and ride the SO very exciting race cars. I couldn't believe that there was already a line. Who gets there at opening and goes straight to the race cars??? Besides us, that is?

We waited 15 minutes, but it seemed like an eternity. This line does NOT move! You're standing in the sun (and it was already hot) and watching the seemingly clueless CMs mangle the loading process. They were chit-chatting with each other, not telling people where to stop, not loading the cars. It was very irritating. Perhaps if I were looking forward to the ride a little more, I wouldn't have been so irritated. :rolleyes1

Tessa decided she wanted to ride with Papa John.

DSC09110_360x480.jpg

Sawyer rode with Henry.

DSC09112_360x480.jpg

I rode with my Mommy. But, no picture! She made me drive, which I really don't like to do. I am not good with these stupid....I mean so very exciting race cars. I'm always hitting the rail in the middle.

Perhaps it makes me think of the Cedar Point kid's bumper cars fire of '78. Backstory: When I was 3 (I could have been 4, in which case it would have been the fire of '79) years old, I was riding on the kid's bumper cars at Cedar Point when they caught on fire!! I remember sitting in my bumper car, buckled in, with fire raining down around me. I just sat there not knowing what to do and not knowing how to unbuckle my seat belt. They told the parents not to come in, but I think my dad might have come in and got me. Anyway, it was a traumatic experience and this ride reminds me of that.

Well, at least the kids enjoyed themselves.

DSC09117_640x480.jpg

It looked like Henry's mood was improving.

DSC09119_640x480.jpg

He was smiling, I'm sure he was.

Tessa and Sawyer were wearing their Peter Pan outfits (I made Tessa's, but bought Sawyer's), so I really wanted to ride Peter Pan. Besides, I really like Peter Pan! There was already a 30 minute wait, so we went ahead and got fast passes.

I wanted to go to the Haunted Mansion and Tessa decided she wanted to brave it, too. Mom and Dad don't do the Haunted Mansion, so they took off to other parts and we planned on meeting at Toon Town when it opened at 10:00.

Perhaps the kids should have went with Grandma and Grandpa....

They were a bit terrified. I should have known. Every time the song "Grim grinning ghosts" comes on the Disneyland Fun video, Sawyer yells "no" and points to the tv and Tessa hops up and fast forwards through it.

Tessa was pretty scared throughout the whole ride and I felt bad for taking her on it. I've never heard of a kid being scared on it before. Sawyer was clinging to Henry for dear life. I think I'll be riding it by myself next time.

I sensed it was time for a kinder, gentler Disney World, so we headed to Toon Town.

There was a VERY short wait for the Barnstormer and Tessa was excited to ride on it. When we got in line, I saw a cute kid in line in front of us. I knew I had seen him somewhere. Then, it dawned on me- it was jham's son, Seth! I swear, this kid looked just like him! But, I didn't recognize the other kid with him, or the guy. I knew Jeanne would have told me if her son was going to be at the parks the same time as us, but I just had to make sure it wasn't him. So, I kept talking to Tessa about "her Luke" and his brother Seth loud enough for the kid to hear me. Apparently, his name was not Seth and he didn't have a brother Luke because he didn't take any notice of us. :rotfl:

Back to Tessa:

DSC09121_360x480.jpg

She remembered riding it the last time we were here. It was her first ever roller coaster.

DSC09124_640x480.jpg

I managed to snap this picture during the 10 second ride.

DSC09125_640x480.jpg

Henry had taken Sawyer to Mickey's house. So, we went to find them over there. I walked into Mickey's house just in time to see Sawyer climbing over the railing to one of Mickey's rooms. I'm quite sure Henry saw him....

I quickly removed my little stinker, and Sawyer & Tessa, from Mickey's house.

DSC09126_360x480.jpg

Only to have my daughter doing her own rail-hopping.

DSC09127_360x480.jpg

What? Me? I'm just standin' here all perty!

DSC09128_360x480.jpg

I thought it would be nice to go see the Princesses in the judge's tent. We went to check it out, but the wait was 45 minutes!! None of us were willing to wait that long. But, I had such lovely memories of the last time we were here. Here's a trip down memory lane.

In 2006, Tessa had sparkly pink shoes with pictures of all the princesses in the bottom of them. So, when we went back to meet the princesses, she proceeded to take her shoe off and show them their picture inside.

6d42.jpg

72f5.jpg

5a50.jpg

I just made myself all teary looking at those pictures. She's growing up so fast. She'll probably never show the princesses the inside of her shoe again. :sad2:

Anyway, we still didn't see mom and dad, so we decided to walk over to Minnie's house.

Henry plopped himself into a chair and we just let the kids play a while.

DSC09132_360x480.jpg

Nope, no Santa Claus.

Then, we headed to the favorite picture spot of the disboutiquers.

DSC09136_640x480.jpg

Minnie's sewing machine!

DSC09140_640x480.jpg

While the kids were playing on the sewing machine, in walks Mom and Dad. Yay! We found each other!

The best part of Minnie's house is the kitchen!

Henry found a nice place to sit (never mind that there were kids in there who wanted to sit in that chair....).

664_360x480.jpg

Awww...look...I have a picture of Tessa sitting in that same chair in 2004! How cute was she??

de1e.jpg

Sawyer was really "getting into it".

665_360x480.jpg

Not sure what the girl is doing here...

DSC09148_360x480.jpg

A weird thing happened as the kids were playing. There were people standing in the entryway to Minnie's kitchen, holding their kids back from playing. They said "We have to wait for these kids to finish playing. You have to wait your turn." Is this normal? Don't most people just let their kids play in there a little bit? It wasn't crowded or anything, so I thought that was really odd.

The traditional "Minnie's chair" picture.

666_360x480.jpg

Here's Tessa, Sawyer (in my belly), and I in 2006.

2d96.jpg

This "Henry in a chair" thing seems to be a theme...

DSC09149_360x480.jpg

This kid's too busy to get his picture taken sitting in a chair.

DSC09150_360x480.jpg

Sawyer loved the garden and we had a hard time getting him out of there!

671_360x480.jpg

670_360x480.jpg

Tessa wanted me to get her picture in the gazebo.

669_360x480.jpg

Sawyer did not want to leave. But, Mom and Henry "persuaded" him to go.

DSC09155_360x480.jpg

That reminds me of one of my all-time favorite Disney pictures. Henry and Tessa walking in Minnie's garden in May 2004.

oh oh after being weeks behind do I really get to be the first to reply!?!?!

Can I just say I LOVE Tessa's expressions!! She is so cute!! Even when she isn't!
I haven't been able to watch the videos yet- I am doing my overnight at work and I can't watch them here. I am sure they are precious! I can't wait to see them!

I will take the kids to see playhouse disney! That is as long as we get back before they "outgrow it"!! :Sigh:

I see more things to add to the "next time list"
1. Play in minnies house
2. Barnstormer- I know Lucas will LOVE it!! He's a little thrill seeker!
3. Epcot world showcase!

I'm SO excited Tessa had such a great interaction with Mary Poppins! I am dying to see those videos!

Are we going to be seeing the "other" wendy soon??? BTW dh agrees it's a dude.

great update
as far as those "exciting" racecars a certain tour guide (who sshall remain nameless because i had to agree not to share his tips that i paid 20 dolllars for) recommends that as the first ride on your second day. all the people on line were probably following his touring plan. thats what we found when we went to that first thing in the morning, everyone there was a tgmer. as an aside i loved his plans we waited no more that 7 minutes for anything granted it was in the midst of tropical storm fay so the parks were not that crowded. but a warning to the wife of a disney hater from the wife and a daughter of a disney hater....they hate these plans . it makes them even crankier than usual.
i am so sad your report is almost over, but you will write about your next trip right? my mom , myself and my kids went last year with my cousin and her daughter... it is a lot of fun when you leave the men at home

Great update!

I luuuurve the Peter Pan customs.....though I must admit I am most partial to Sawyers this time around, I think its because he just looks TOO CUTE in it :)

Sawyer just adores the places where he can run around and play doesnt he, that is play without those pesky characters coming around and spoiling his fun by trying to kiss him and hug him! The cheek of them trying to spoil his fun, how dare they :) :)

I cant believe you are almost to your last day! I mean I know it was months ago but it's like you are there in the World now at this minute and soon you will be leaving......That is too sad :(

Mandy

I'm sorry I ended that last update so abruptly. I was starting to fall asleep! I'll try and work on the next half of this day on Friday night. I do my best writing when Henry is gone doing his police thing and the kids are asleep.

I think you're the only one who commented on the close cones. I found it pretty funny myself! ;)

Thanks for the :thumbsup2 on the carseats! Tessa will be in a 5 point harnesss until they don't make one to fit her anymore!

I also hate getting upset at jerky people. It stays with me for a long time, too.

I prefer going in February. Actually, I've only been once in February, but it was blissfully cool. I just can't take any kind of heat.

I really did love reading this TR. I have started one of my own, if you are interested in reading. We just got back a few days ago! :cloud9:
OOhh...I'll have to check it out!

 Thanks for reading about our babies on our websites. I'm glad Teresa tricked you into reading and then you turned around and tricked us into reading YOUR TR. Welcome to the Big Give, BTW!

Tourguide mike's plans didn't really work for us because we were never there at rope drop! I did do the plan from the Unofficial Guide to Disney in 2006 and it worked great. I think that plan and TGM's are pretty similar. We never waited in line too long anyway, with the fast passes and such! I never considered that all the crazy people who went straight to the race cars would be TGMers. I should have asked! No one looked very happy about waiting in line when they could be walking on board much cooler rides all over the park. Or, that could have just been me...

You've GOT to watch the Mary Poppins video! It makes me so happy! :cloud9:

Yes, the questionably gendered "Wendy" will be coming up in the next installment.

:thumbsup2 I like it! :wizard:
I'm glad you do, ma'am.

I don't think anyone even noticed that Sawyer was wearing a Peter Pan costume. At least, no one ever commented on it! I don't recall anyone commenting on Tessa's Peter Pan outfit, either. :confused3

:rotfl2: Yes, Sawyer likes to run free!

I'm sad it's almost over, too! But, I'll be going back in just over 3 months!! I'll be writing a Disney-hater free trip report! Although, that may cut out lots of the fun drama and sarcasm.

Loved the update. I really like Tessa's Peter Pan outfit. Very cute.
Thank you!

I found these in a box the other day and thought of your TR- Mainly because of the monchichi. My Grammy made the others for us when we were little. I'm sure you remember Ernie, Rainbow brite and Bert.
DSCF3243.jpg

Sophia LOVES the monchichi, I guess I'm gonna have to hide them! :lmao:
DSCF3244.jpg

My grammy also made big bird, grover, and cookie monster. Of course this was all pre- elmo!! :rotfl2:

MONCHICHI!!! :lmao: That is so cool!! Your grammy is just too sweet for words!! Thanks for the trip down memory lane!!

You've got to let Sophia play with the Monchichi! Don't deprive her as I was deprived! ;)

She really does LOVE  him and wants to feed him. She calls him chi chi! Maybe I'll have to make a video. :goodvibes :rotfl:
I would never want to deprive her!! :rotfl2:

Aaah, gotta love those grumpy mornings, don't you? Love the Seth shout-out! I'm sure he wishes he were there! Did you take a picture? Love Sawyer's Peter Pan shirt, and Tessa's of course! You made me go by blue sparkly star fabric. And I love the way you slyly called Henry a little stinker. Those princess shoe photos are hilarious! The best part of ANY house is the kitchen. Cute Minnie house pictures! I love that Sawyer had so much fun.

I thought I posted about Tessa's Mary Poppins' dress but I'll do it again - WONDERFUL. That lady in the Minnie's house was strange maybe she thought only one family was "allowed"to play at a time :confused3 . Cute Peter Pan outfits for the kids.

I've been away for quite some time, but I'm back and all caught up! You have the cutest little kids! They are so precious and adorable! I enjoyed the mary poppins video and pictures as well. You did wonderfully on the dress! :thumbsup2 Mary is one of my faves too and I wanted to meet her so bad on our last trip...we were about to leave the uk on our last day in disney last year and who should appear? It was Mary Poppins! Can't wait to hear more about your last day in disney...although its sad that the trippie will be coming to an end. :(

It's ages since there has been an update...... Is everything ok???
If something bad has happened I hope it is on its way to being resolved.

If everything is okay then I wanna read more about your trip, even though it is the last day an all.

Need an update.....I have withdrawal symptoms

Mandy

I bet she and Teresa are making customs.... :)

But I agree...WE WANT MORE!!! MORE!! MORE!!

Yeah, I'm sad it's coming to an end, that's why I'm taking so long to update....yeah....that sounds about right. :thumbsup2

I did have a huge scare last week. Sawyer had a seizure. He was feeling kind of sick and then his fever spiked really fast. Then, he started having a seizure. I called 911 and the ambulance was 1/2 hour away! So, I drove him to the hospital myself. The seizure lasted for about a 1 1/2 minutes, but it seemed like an eternity. The scariest part was when he'd been in the hospital for about an hour, the doctor wanted to see him walk. We put him on the floor and he couldn't walk. He couldn't even hold his head up, it just flopped to the side. It was AWFUL! I thought he had a stroke or something. But, 1/2 hour later, he was able to walk normally. It was such a scary day.

That's not the reason I haven't updated, but it's a pretty good excuse anyway!

I'll try and get an update written on Friday night/Saturday morning, but I can't promise anything!

I bet she and Teresa are making customs.... :)

But I agree...WE WANT MORE!!! MORE!! MORE!!

:) maroo

Actually, I was hoping to have you write the last few installments of my TR!! :thumbsup2

If anyone hasn't read Maroo's TR, you really have to go read it!!
