Dork Wars Episode II: The Revenge of Joaquin - Nov. 12 / Jul. 13 PTR *UPDATE 6/30*

I vote yes please for the return of the Yeti!
Wonderful AK plans. Raglan Road makes my short list every year... but hasn't made the cut since 2007 for one reason or another. I really need to get back there! Great atmosphere!

All right, 1 Yeti vote! Now I have to actually find him. I think I punished him after his last trip and I haven't let him out yet. I'm a horrible parent.

Raglan Road made it on my short list over and over again too, and when I finally ate there on our New Years trip in 2012, I really loved it. It has awesome atmosphere, you're right. I loved the dancing component and all that.

Yes to the Yeti! His adventures are too cute.

Raglan Road looks like a lot of fun to me, but the menu doesn't really seem that appealing. Do you like it? Can't wait to hear more!

This is our first FULL day in the parks.

Now, when I plan park days I use Touring Plans to get the best use of our time. So we don't always follow a logical format. Like some people like to visit Epcot first, some the Magic Kingdom. I don't operate that way normally, I like to go where I think the crowds will be lowest. And on this length of trip, we're getting to each park at least twice, so all is good. :thumbsup2

this is exactly what I do! There are people that insist MK has to be the first park but I am all "Not if TP says it is the worst!!" :lmao: I have used TP since 2009 and it has steered me wrong only once! I am a firm believer! The Walt Disney World gates gets my motor going!! :goodvibes :rotfl:

Now, the serious question......would you like this guy to make a reappearance on this trip?

Yes, I would like to see the Yeti return! He is just so mischevious!! You plans are looking pretty good!! :thumbsup2

I really like Raglan Road, but I also love that kind of food, so I would be a little bit on the bias side.

Haha, I'm glad! I'm sure he's going to make a return trip this time. I'm getting excited, it's getting so close!

Day 3, day 3!!!!

Saturday July 6, 2013

I put a lot of thought into this trip. Since it's 10 days long, in the middle of the summer, and with littles, I wanted this trip to be balanced. We will be making it to each park at opening at least once, but we want this to be relaxing as well. Which is why on Day 3, we are starting our morning at....

We love water parks, especially during the summer. So of course we have to go here!

I love how Joaquin's all like "sun in my eyes! I have sun in my eyes!" in this picture.

Must do's?

Castaway Creek....

Crush n' Gusher. My Dad's face is priceless in this!

This time, I'm buying a waterproof digital camera, so I can get good pictures of the boys!

After our relaxing time at TL, our evening will be at.....

We're going to plan on hitting the easy stuff.

The Seas.

Turtle Talk.

Imagination.

Gran Fiesta Tour.

Also planning on making some drinky drinky rounds.

Wait, that's not drinky drinky, that's just what we do when we drinky drinky.

Dinner will be at....

The Biergarten!!!

Let's recap what happens at the Biergarten in my family.....

It's going to be a fun night!!!

Up next: Day 4!

I think it's a great idea to balance the trip out with nice relaxing days like that one. Some water park time and some low key Epcot time sound just perfect!

I definitely wanted to do that on this trip, because we want this to be a really well rounded trip. We just don't commando the way that we used to. And that's totally fine with me! :lmao:

Day 4 is a big big big day!

Let's discuss why, shall we.

This is a major Magic Kingdom day. ;) Some people may be like "waiting four days to go to the Magic Kingdom?!" Yes....we're waiting four days. And say it with me.....that's ooooooookkkkkkkaaaaaayyyyyy.

Must do's on this day?

Space Mountain

Buzz Lightyear

My family and competitive rides. Let's just say we have a history. And I'm going to say it here and now....Jason is going DOWN on all competitive rides this trip. I will be victorious!

We'll make a visit to Dumbotown.

Ariel will welcome us under the sea

Pirates will kick us out of the sea

We're going to pay a visit to the Laughing Place

And of course, make sure we see my favorite angry duck.

Dinner this evening? Do you even have to ask....

We'll be dining at Be Our Guest! I'm super excited. I haven't been inside yet, so I'm thrilled to see it in person.

To top off our evening? You guys should know me pretty well.

Oh hello Wishes Dessert Party!

Major major day. I'm also hoping to have meet and greets with:
Ariel
Mickey (duh!)
Merida
Gaston
Pete's Silly Side Show

Up next: Day 5!

I once read an article that recommended waiting to do MK until last, they said it's more magical that way! :thumbsup2
And what an awesome MK day you have planned. BOG and the dessert party? Awesome overload!

Yeah we found Yeti..... He is no longer lost...:cool1::cool1::cool1:
Excellent news!

Monday July 8, 2013

This is our full on relaxing day people! This trip is 10 days long. 10 days of us being together, in the heat, with no real break. I made the executive decision when planning this trip and putting it together that we needed a full break day. Plus, this is our final day in the Treehouse Villas, before we move to the Animal Kingdom Lodge, so we want to take full advantage of the pools there. :thumbsup2

So, we'll be sleeping in until whenever, and then spending the day at the pool(s). I'm sure the boys will love it.

I have no pics of the pools at Saratoga, but I'll get some for sure!

Our evening will be spent at DTD. So convenient that it's walking distance from Saratoga.

I am sure these will be purchased when Downtown.

Of course a visit here!

You can't go to DTD and not visit WOD.

I love the view at night.

I'm pretty sure that dinner will be at Wolfgang Puck Express. I love it there.

But dessert.....oh dessert.

D'oh bar from Cooke's of Dublin. Ugh. They are incredible. Absolutely incredible.

And we're halfway through the plans folks!

I wanted to give you a brief fitness update too.

I've hit the 40 pound mark for weight loss. At this point I'm at a plateau, mainly because I've lost a high percentage of weight already. These are normal, but it's been a struggle for me to push past it.

I ran in my first 5k on Sunday May 26th. My goal was to maintain the marathon pace at 16 minutes per mile. We came in at 45 minutes, so about a 15 minute mile overall pace. That included having Gavin, my 8 year old nephew with us the whole time. It was great to finish it and it inspired me to continue with everything.

My next 5k will be on Saturday June 15th, and it's one right in the city I live in. My goal is to obviously finish this with better time than the first one.

I started to train for a 1/2 marathon using one of the training programs on the RunDisney site, coupled with a training program in one of my running tracker apps.

So, in 2014, depending on how I am progressing by around August, I will be running a 1/2 marathon. I know that for sure. The question is which one?

The Tinkerbell 1/2 is in January in Disneyland. One of my friends has run many Disney runs and he gave me his opinion. He said this one was great, because it has less people in it, and the course is nice.

The Princess 1/2 is in February in WDW. That same friend said he didn't love the Princess 1/2 because it's overbooked and he said the route has points that are long and seem like a lull.

The other options are the Tower of Terror 10 miler in October, or the Wine and Dine 1/2 in November.

Let me know your thoughts on which ones sound interesting or fun!

Also, I hit a running goal the other day. I was able to jog for an entire mile, without stopping, in under 12 minutes. That was huge for me. HUGE! I'm so stoked and excited to continue.

:goodvibes:goodvibes

Up next: Day 6!!

so, so proud of you. You are an inspiration to me so I am running with you on June 15th. It will be my first one then focus on one of the Disney ones YEAH I can't wait.:cheer2:
