Doreen's Fresh Start & Success Story! (Welcome Friends!)

The tough part of my day is already over. :p I survived my stress EKG this morning. I'm counting it as my exercise today!! ::yes::

I just woke up from a nice nap and will take the rest of the day as it comes. My only "must-do" is a load of laundry so I have clothes for work tomorrow.

:sunny:

Hey, there, WISH-sis. :wave2: I'm just stopping by to say hello and wish you well this Monday. Glad you got your EKG out of the way. Now take it easy and enjoy the rest of the day, OK? :flower:

Love and hugs,
Erin

Once I finished my stress EKG, yesterday was a very laid back and relaxing day. I gave myself the day off! I didn't even pay attention to my healthy living goals. I probably met most of them but I didn't consciously keep track.

Today I'm back at the office and I WILL be tracking my healthy living goals.
1. Devotions - Come unto Me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. - Matthew 11:28
2. Pills - just paused to take them.
3. Water - have my bottle and am :drinking:
4. Healthy eating - B was peach yogurt w/ almonds, L will be croissant w/ sausage egg & cheese, D is up in the air once again.
5. Exercise - yes, at least a 1/2 mile lap around my building in the sunshine during my 10 AM break time.
6. Scale - 151 and steady. :cloud9:

I've got my color-coded to-do list ready and I'm taking it one task at a time. Nothing looks overwhelming, since my workload has been lightened. I keep repeating in my mind "I will feel calm and peaceful at work today" and breathing deeply with my eyes closed and my muscles relaxed. I'm determined to overcome the anxiety I feel when I think about work or am sitting at my desk.

Life is good! :sunny:

Good morning Doe!

You sound relaxed and ready to go today! :moped: I hope today is a wonderful day for you! :flower: Take care!

:cheer2: 151! :cheer2:

Is that not down 2 lbs from the other day? :)

I need a day of relaxation, but I'm thinking it will be November before I get one. :rotfl: Have a great day today, you've got some great goals to tackle!

~Amanda

How's it going, girlie? It sounds like you've got your situation clearly in focus and have a good plan for tody. Is it playing out as you had planned? Did you get your walk in? It's awfully hot out there.

How's DD's trip going? Have you heard from her a lot?

 and ,
Erin

Yesterday's smilies were for devotions, pills, water, exercise and the scale. Dinner was whatever I could scrounge at home and the only thing left was spaghetti. I'm trying to stretch my grocery dollars until Friday (pay day). There's money in the bank if I need it but I'm doing my best to stay in my budget. Tonight's dinner will probably be PB&J sandwiches & soup. :p

Today:
1. Devotions - What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. - Mark 11:24
2. Pills - will take them with breakfast.
3. Water - already started
4. Healthy eating - B will be berry yogurt w/ almonds, L will be peanuts & a Snickers Kudo bar, D will be PB&J and soup.
5. Exercise - another 1/2 mile lap around my building. I'll get this done early before the heat of the day sets in.
6. Scale - 152, but I'm OK with that.

Work looks very manageable and my to-do list is up-to-date. I'm feeling better and better, less anxious, more calm and relaxed. With DD gone this week, we've been cleaning up the house and it's looking nice. Life is good!

Erin, DD isn't much for talking on the phone. I called her Sunday evening but haven't heard from her since. It's a comfort knowing that she has her cell phone and can call anytime if she feels the need, but if she's having a good time I'm sure I won't hear about it until she gets home. :p

I'm off to get some work done and cross some things off my to-do list. :sunny:

EDIT: 9:30 AM
2. Pills taken :)
3. Almost finished my first 20oz bottle of water!
5. My 1/2 mile lap in the warm sunshine has been accomplished! It's gettin' warm outside already - we're in for hot & humid & 90+ degrees today. :sunny:

Good morning Doreen!

I just want to send a great big  your way today! You sound so relaxed and happy! :goodvibes I hope today is a wonderful day for you, my friend. :flower:

Take care!

You are doing so awesome! I hear ya about the stretching the dollars, we are doing the same thing. But I am finally giving in and going to the store tonight.

Hey there, Doreen. I'm just stopping by to say hello. I hope all is going OK today. Way to go on that walk in the :sunny: .

Take care, WISH-sis!

Love,
Erin

Hi, Doreen! How awesome that you went for a walk before it got too hot out. Good for you! Hope everything else is going well! BTW, don't break into your reward money for groceries! Actually, sometimes I think the best meals are those you make when you have no other choices. It serves to use up some food that you might not have used otherwise and well, how can you go wrong with PBJ,right? :)

Shoulda made PB&J for dinner last night. Instead, DS had his GF over and we splurged for pizza. The scale reflects my indulgence. :( So tonight it's definitely PB&J! ::yes:: :p

Today:
1. Devotions - Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, and lean not unto thine own understanding. - Proverbs 3:5
2. Pills - on the desk to be taken with breakfast
3. Water - started
4. Healthy eating - AM snack = pear, B = raspberry yogurt w/ almonds, L = ham bacon egg cheese croissant, D = PB&J and soup - that's my plan and I'm stickin' to it!
5. Exercise - this one could be tough. It's rainy outside. I'll either get my half mile walk in early this morning or I'll have to do something at home tonight.
6. Scale - 153, no, no, no!! It won't be that high tomorrow!

I realized yesterday that I do not have the urge to snack at work anymore. I'm feeling much less stressed and am just not hungry. Guess all that eating was truly stress-driven. I'm the same way at home. I don't browse through the kitchen looking for "something". What a nice relief! How I hope and pray that I can keep this feeling longterm!

I did have a moment of anxiety yesterday. My boss realized that I've wrapped up work on two projects. He said that we'll have to see upper management would like me to work on next. That brought images of project schedules and strict deadlines and stress! My stomach clenched up and my muscles tightened - all the usual symptoms. It took a while for me to calm my nerves and relax. Guess I'm not "over" my anxiety just yet. :p

My color-coded to-do list is up-to-date and waiting for me. Everything looks pretty manageable. I'm just going to get through the tasks, one by one.

Thanks, everyone, for stopping by. :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

Good morning Doe!

I hope you have a wonderful day today! :flower: Proverbs 3:5-6 are one my favorite Bible verses and one I repeat to myself constantly! ::yes::

Take good care of you!

Hey girl! You are right the scale won't say that again tomorrow. Be sure to drink all you water today so that you can flush your system. Have a great day!

~Amanda

:rockband: :jumping1:

It's FRIDAY!!! :cloud9:

Yesterday's smilies were for devotions, pills, water, healthy eating, exercise (a lap around my building) and the scale. Yep, I got 'em all!!! :Pinkbounc

Last night I ate a bowl of soup around 5:30 and a bowl of Corn Pops around 10. I didn't overdo it on portions either. I had NOTHING when DH and I went to the movies. The scale still says 153.

We saw Herbie Fully Loaded - complete drivel but fun. DS was working so we were mainly there to harass him. ;)

Today:
1. Devotions - I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. - John 10:10
2. Pills - need to take them with breakfast
3. Water - started
4. Healthy eating - B = sausage egg cheese croissant, L = peach yogurt w/ almonds, D????
5. Exercise - I should. It's raining today so I'm not sure if I'll get my outside 1/2 mile in.
6. Scale - 153 and steady.

Much to accomplish at work today, but nothing overwhelming. No plans for the weekend as yet. DD comes home tomorrow evening - the house just isn't the same without her. It's cleaner and less tense but I'm missing her lots.

Let the Friday party begin!!

putting on my mom voice

Doreen, you need to eat more protein at lunch. Yogurt and almonds is not a complete meal. :teeth:

Otherwise your day looks great! I'm sure that scale will start moving in the correct direction soon. Hopefully mine will as well! Have a good day princess: Doe!

~Amanda

Doe:

I really think I should adopt a son or daughter that works at the local movie theatre. Getting to see all the films sounds like a welcome, cool break.

Good for you for managing your stress and munching.
*personal question* did your Dr. prescribe continuous BC? I'm not in for my physical until second week in August but I'm going to ask for a different (continuous) medication. I really am hoping it will be the same Wyeth product that I was on for the study if it is available.

Thanks for your words on support and congrats in my journal...yes, the light at the end is getting larger!
