Friends of ours are beginning to plan their first trip to Disney with DD's 3 and 7. DD3 LOVES Dora so they thought they might spend a day at US/IOA. Does anyone know if there is anything "Dora" worth seeing?

I know that her character comes out for pictures. Why don't you post this on the Universal theme parks sub board, you might get more responses....:goodvibes

The only specific thing of Dora is her coming out to sign autographs. And there is no quarantee you would see her the one particular day. We've gone and over 5 days found her 3 times. Our DD is a huge Dora fan and that is all that is there Dora besides merchandise. No rides or shows or anything.
And she is in the Universal side not Islands of Adventure where the little kids rides are mostly.

She is usually found outside the Universal Store on the left hand side, just before you get to the Jimmy Neutron ride. You will also see her occassionally outside of Universal Studios, they send different characters outside during the day. There was a discussion on US/IOA characters here, there are pictures of Dora in it.
