They will be in the Improv area again & I was told they will have some Disney characters (a cast member at DTD told me about the characters). I think that he said they will have something to eat too. (Yes, very similar to the grand opening in August 2007).

I never received the preliminary mailing that said "save the date" referred to earlier, but I did get the registration mailing today!

When I read this, I was "Geez..that's far..when are they going?" and your vacation dates said mid June. We're going in July and then I realized that I'm going in 6 months. I really felt like we were going a lot sooner than that!! OHHhhhhhh !!! How am I gonna wait 6 months!!! I guess I was doing the Steve Martin from "The Jerk" thing...Well, tomorrow is February so that's really only a day and you can't count July, so that only feels like an hour and June is when the kids get out of school, so that only feels like another day.....etc.

My response allotted 1 1/2 hours for the presentation. I know the characters will be there on Sat but does anyone know if they'll be there on Sunday too?? We're bring our 3 kids and we always love an oportunity to get a couple of pics.

Thanks for posting the link. I registered for Sunday 11am. It will be our first reception, we became members this past Dec. We have 2 trips planned out already, our family trip will be June 08 AKL (2 bedroom villa) for 5 days, and dh and I will be back Oct 08 AKL (studio SV CL, for our anniversary) for 4 days. I can't wait!!!

SuziQzee - I received my letter today, and it states that Mickey Mouse will be there Sunday.

Yes, I was told they would have characters during the member reception inside the Improv like they did during the grand opening. I went in person to talk to DTD last week to try to straighten out some issues I have with my DVC guide and they urged us to come back during the member reception.

Hopefully they didn't steer me wrong!

It sounds like Sunday isfor people who already own. We are considering a purchase into AKV, but haven't seen them yet. Does anybody know if there are any special incentives being offered on Saturday? Since we want to see the units anyway, it might be worth a drive down.

I just registered for Sunday at 11 am. We were not able to go down when they opened and we really want to see it. We live outside Milwaukee so the drive is only 90 minutes to get there. We are staying at the Embassy Suites and will relax and visit the mall and swim. We are not doing Disney again for a little over 8 months, 2 weeks and 1 day. ( Not that I am counting or anything)

I stopped in to talk to them yesterday and here is the info I got:
Characters will be there on Sunday at the receptions
They are supposed to have "their best incentives ever", but they have no idea what they are yet. According to the girl, they have not been told what they are just that they are amazing and that she is even considering adding on.

Aaargh. We can't drive down this weekend. I wonder if they are one time only, of if they will stay on a bit? We might head down in early March or late February.
