Ok, I live 10 minutes from there, bought DVC there, and I STILL don't get their mailings....

When there is more info, can someone post? We are considering an add on and would love "special incentives"

I received my mailing. We just bought there last month. I think I'll stay away, I don't need to be adding on know, I haven't even used my membership yet.

We also received the mailing. It was simply a “save the date” notice announcing that something exclusive would be offered to DVC members at the Schaumburg facility on February 10-12th.

The notice indicated that there would be more info to follow shortly.

My guide just called to let us know. Of course, I was on the other line, so she left a message.

She said there will be characters and special incentives if we were thinking of adding on (funny, we were thinking about it.) She said there would be more info coming soon

I did receive my mailer regarding the event at "Doorway". It sounds like the characters are only going to be there on Sat 2/9. It says there are "member receptions" 2/10-2/12. I'm assuming there won't be any characters on these dates but not exactly sure what this means in regards to what other things will be different through these dates. I have received my 08/09 planner and still awaiting my "more info to follow" mailer for the event at Woodfield. The last event they had we DID have to RSVP so hopfully we'll get them soon...there's less than 2 weeks left and I wouldn't want to miss out! I love having a little snippet of Disney right here in the Chicago area!!

When they opened the preview center in Chicago, my DD and I drove up from Champaign, IL area and didn't RSVP. We didn't even get the invitation. However, the CM's were very nice and said yes we were more than welcome to participate in the meetings and the tours. I would guess if you have your member card, they won't turn anyone away in hopes of selling you an add-on. I did get the first information about this weekend, but haven't received anything since. I am hoping to drive up for this event also.

Hey! Guess what!! I just got my mailer today!! There is no RSVP required for Saturday's "Getaway Days Celebration" with Mickey and Friends but this is in the Comcast Connections Court of Woodfield, NOT in the Doorway to Dreams store. The "Special Member Reception" says that you'll be immersed in the sights and sounds of AKV and you'll learn behind the scenes secrets and there are limited-time incentives if you add-on to your membership, which are also available for your family and friends. It does have a date of 2/4 to RSVP by online. It says reservations are required but I'm sure they wouldn't turn any members away if they were interested in attending. You should be getting your mailer anyday now. See ya there!

Me too!! We are going to stay at AKV in July! I kinda disappointed though cuz I just found out that the 1 bdrms that are currently available (Jambo) only have 1 bathroom and the shower and tub aren't separate. I didn't know that they weren't going to be like the model's that we've seen so I was a little sad. But the kids are so excited to have a savannah view!!

Do you think they'll do the same kinda thing that they did when Doorway first opened??
